on the personal and political

the more alienated I feel.

I woke this morning with an array of seemingly disparate thoughts. Yet, they were mostly spurred from a rambling conversation with friends, last night.

First, the dream snippet I woke up remembering:

"I always wanted to be a death farmer."
Pained, horrified, confused and concerned faces reflected back at her.
"It's not what it seems. I want you to harvest the bounty of your dreams."

Bernie's Magic Carpet Ride T-9: NY Polling Trend Lines

We're featuring the NY polls every day until the election in 10 days on 19 April. NY has 247 delegates at stake. Plus, the little matter of momentum and narrative.

Bernie's magic carpet hit some turbulence this weekend. His 55.7%-44.3% win in Wyoming wasn't as big as hoped and he lost a bit in the delegate math. And the weekend brought two disappointing polls, although they both had a b it of a thumb on the scale. More below.

Does Bernie understand why we are backing him? I think not.

Was watching the clips from Sunday's talk shows and Bernie was insinuating that if he loses he will try and get some of his ideas implemented into the democratic platform for the general election. The first thing I thought was "Bernie doesn't get it". The platform means nothing anymore especially with Hillary at the top of the ticket. Does Bernie remember why OWS existed?? It was because politicians say one thing then do another once they get corrupted by the lobbyists in Washington.

Fairytales, Guns and Sanders

Fairytales, Guns and Sanders, Part 1

Once upon a time, when pollution did not choke the land and the only gaping hole in the earth was the Grand Canyon and its like, people with guns did not kill other human beings. These friendly but hungry people went out into the wild with their guns and...and...and shot Bambi’s mother!

A Boomer's Lament

I was a hero once
Or so it seemed
My life was gripped in the vise of commitment
And Truth was my name

It was all so long ago
The tilted windmills of my youth
Still smugly sit atop the hill
My wide-eyed innocence lies smashed upon the rocks below
You cannot change the world
If you cannot change yourself

Libya - I am so pissed off.

Why?

First, there was no reason to invade yet another PNAC, neocon target. Khadafi's rule was, if anything, more benign than how it was portrayed to us poor saps on our side of the pond. He was not invading his neighbors, he posed no threat to us or to our allies, and he had some pretty diverse groups under control.

And then, the evil cabal of Sidney blumenthal and Hillary Clinton took over.

And Obama blew it big time because of them.
