at certain times? There are plenty of photographs showing up now, but for those of us house-bound, or city-bound, or grey-day depressed, would it be nice to try to set up a cooperative schedule? I am not an organizer, but I put this idea out, knowing it's been discussed here re: some people who we enjoyed elsewhere.
Joining the Green Party (GP) en masse may be seen as similar to coming here from TOP. The main difference, of course, is that the GP is a political party that has tried to directly influence national policy rather than indirectly reporting, commenting on, and discussing it. It has a larger membership that has held true to their beliefs through 16 years of mockery, approbation, guilt tripping, and shunning.

When the oppressed are divided and ruled, a dialectic of united versus divided response emerges (February 6, 1869 illustration from Harper's Weekly: The National Colored Convention in Session at Washington, D.C.--Sketched by Theo. R. Davis in 1869.)
Try to imagine if Hillary and Bill Clinton’s lives were switched. Hillary manages to get elected president in 1992 and Bill becomes First Gentleman.
Eight years later, Bill carpetbags it to New York to run for the Senate there and wins.
As one to always step on toes . . . here I go again: This is not from the site owners or operators. It is just me poking my nose in the tent . . . yet again, so I will begin:
In response to a couple of comments JtC stated:
hopefully as we grow we can survive on donations alone, especially if we get to 10,000 members. I absolutely hate advertising and would love to keep this site as clean as it is now. Thanks again.
Whoa! Did you have any doubt that Bernie is in it to win it? You won't after watching his press conference today on C-Span. Bernie is on fire (literally berning) You have to hear the press conference for yourself. Bernie is trying to dispel the media narrative that has been pushed since the losses in the Acela primaries.
I believe his supporters should also not buy into that defeatist narrative as it kills activism.
When Summer Luk was a student at Biola University , she was forced to sign a contract promising not to drink, party, or have sex...and of course, definitely not to be transgender. The Hong Kong native has now transferred to NYU, has been able to come out to her professors as who she is, has interned for GLAAD, and the music major has written and recorded an original song, now made into a video directed by Laura Camarena and featuring a diverse group of transgender people.
The lyric video explores the performative nature of gender, the difficulties of navigating the legal system and finding a place where transgender people are protected as citizens against prejudice, discrimination and hate-motivated violence. By including transgender people who are of different races, ages, faiths, and stages in their transition this video showcases the huge spectrum that exists within the community.
