Thomas Frank, Mark Warner, SS, the Rust Belt, and My Personal Frustration

I posted this on my Facebook this morning, and I wanted to share it with a wider audience. I know that nothing I am saying here is news to anyone here. I just wanted to share my frustration(s) and a personal anecdote.

This morning I have been thinking about the Democratic Party elites and how they have, still are, and are trying to further betray the working class people of America.

Bernie at the Democratic Convention: Let Us Not Talk Falsely Now

The lies of corporate politicians are the foundational cause of every crisis America is facing. Let us not talk falsely now is Bernie’s message to the despised political establishment, to the depraved economic establishment, to the degenerate media establishment, to the degraded military establishment, it’s his message to everyone in power, to everyone in authority at every level of society, to the police and the judges, to business owners and employers, to every American trapped in this twilight struggle for survival as the pursuit of corporate profit strangles the economy and the GOP casts the shadow of fascism across the entire political system.

Let us not talk falsely now.

This is Republican America, folks - hateful, spiteful, ugly, & murderous

Cass McWade is a young woman living in North Carolina. She suffers from a number of chronic illnesses, including "psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and early-stage Crohn’s disease, " that entitle her to display a disabled sticker on the rear window of her car. On Monday she was involved in a car accident, which disabled her car.

The DK argument to end them all.

I just had the Daily Kos conversation to end them all. Quite literally possibly, I may get banned at some point. It was sad, amusing, and tragic all at the same time.

It started about Mark Warner, a Democrat who has taken the position that to save the country from becoming a walled off series of slums, we must cut back social security and further cut corporate taxes. Yay. Someone defended him because he said that Warner wasn't saying he wanted walled off slums.

Hillary Victory Fund and Superdelegates Flipping to Bernie

I've been musing over the recent article in Politico and elsewhere about how the $61 million raised by Hill for her Victory Fund, ostensibly to help down-ballot Democratic candidates win elections, hasn't actually gone to them. $3.8 million was transferred to state parties, but $3.3 million of it was immediately transferred back to the DNC. In other words, less than 1% of Clinton's haul went to down-ballot candidates.
