When people say Facebook is the online refuge of the crazy and the stupid, this isn't an exaggeration. The attack on Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, FL proved that, especially among my own family members. In particular, my brother. He ranted on and on about how if any terrorists showed up to where he lived, he'd show 'em 'what America's all about'.....yeah....sure. This coming from the same guy who said he'd vote for Donald Trump if he were able to do so, same as my mom's significant other. Sad.

How to get out of jury duty, even when you don't want to

I actually like jury duty. And I consider it a point of honor to be an impartial juror. That said this time the case was scheduled to last 2 months and I had to schedule a neurologist appointment, so maybe my judgment was clouded.
But all I did was tell the truth.
The lawyer for the prosecution asked if anyone would (and we were interpreting that as "could") have difficulty with the government's case just because it was the government. I didn't - honest - but…

Most of Bernie's speech was a list of what we want and fought for. What we want our country to be and to do. The only surprising thing for me was that he wants his supporters to run for political office: school boards, county commissioners, however we can get our feet in the door. I applaud this and agree strongly. That is what it will take for real change. From the bottom up, which is how change happens.

I did not RSVP for the live stream because of the weird stuff I read here about some of the sign ups. So I started looking around to see if I could find it being run somewhere.
