Submitted by WaveyDavey on Wed, 09/28/2016 - 11:49amToday, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) says it is coordinating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a mandatory nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) at 2:20 p.m. EDT. These are not the weekly tests TV and radio stations are required to do that are as melodic as a 2400 baud phone modem starting up. Today's test will be a simultaneous broadcast on EVERY radio and television station in the United States.
