Some of the therapists I've seen over the years since my diagnosis have used shit like this to describe ways of coping or dealing with certain situations. Unlike many neurotypicals, I don't have a 'switch' to 'turn it off'. So my Voc Rehab counselor said there was a potential Mail Clerk position at Kennedy Space Center that paid 25 dollars an hour. Sounded promising enough, that is, until I got the job description.
