Divide and conquer with aggregate statistics

The Atlantic has long been on my list of faux left publications. Nevertheless, because it was getting a lot of comment, I read the piece by Matthew Stewart, The 9.9 Percent Is the New American Aristocracy

I found it to be a blatant attempt to divide the leftwing, and to give more credibility to rightwing stereotypes about "liberals", by using aggregate statistics. That is, using averages and correlation to imply causation and intent.

Use “3 Birds, 1 Stone Strategy” if you want to live.

The Two Parties and the Media fail to serve our interests. Actually, work against them most of the time. If this doesn't change, and real soon, they're going to take us over a cliff. And real soon.

That these "3 Birds" are corrupt, self-serving, and divorced from reality is an assertion few "everyday people" would even try to refute. Not least because it can't be done.

The Trump influence paradigm Speech.

First, you need to know that a teacher in my past explained a comfortable bike seat was a "paradigm".

Now, I have just subjected myself to the Trumpers speech in Montana.

Morning. Came across an interesting article in The Atlantic last week, The 9.9 Percent Is the New American Aristocracy The class divide is already toxic, and is fast becoming unbridgeable. You’re probably part of the problem. To reach more policy makers or circumvent them, we need to understand this societal group.

The article and facts presented is worth a stand-alone diary. Maybe someone has the time to break it apart into digestible chunks.

Democratic Party would rather lose to a Republican than win with a progressive

After a socialist candidate won in the Bronx, the news media has spilled a lot of ink about how the Democrats are going too far to the left.
Someone should tell the Democratic Party establishment.

A good example is what happened in Rhode Island this week.
