Seth Rich Update: Fox News vs. the Democratic Party, or is the truth oozing out?

The family of the Democratic National Committee staffer who was gunned down on July 10 on a Washington, D.C., blasted reports that he was a source of thousands of emails leaked to WikiLeaks.

Rod Wheeler, a retired Washington homicide detective and Fox News contributor hired by a third party to investigate the case made the WikiLeaks claim, which was corroborated by a federal investigator who spoke to Fox News.

“My investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and WikiLeaks.”

But a spokesman for Rich's family on Tuesday said Wheeler was not authorized to speak for the family and called assertions Seth Rich sent emails to WikiLeaks "unsubstantiated." Brad Bauman said even if purported emails were to surface, it would not necessarily mean Rich had helped WikiLeaks.
"Even if tomorrow, an email was found, it is not a high enough bar of evidence to prove any interactions as emails can be altered and we've seen that those interested in pushing conspiracies will stop at nothing to do so," Bauman said. "We are a family who is committed to facts, not fake evidence that surfaces every few months to fill the void and distract law enforcement and the general public from finding Seth's murderers." [Link}

There is more, much more: Statements from DC police, FBI, rewards posted. It is a pretty good recap of what has and is transpiring. I encourage you to read it.

If you are wondering why Seth Rich family statements on new evidence sound like they are coming from the Democratic Party, it is because THEY are.

Brad Bauman is a political consultant working for Democratic candidates for office and progressive causes. Bauman is the former Executive Director of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. In that capacity, Bauman oversaw the legislative, communications and political operations for the second largest caucus in Congress. Prior to that, Brad served as Communications Director for various members of Congress and numerous targeted Congressional campaigns Brad was named a Rising Star in American Politics by Campaigns and Elections Magazine in 2004. [more]

Again, all we can do is stay tuned and wait for the story to unfold. Is Fox stepping on Trump blabbing to the Russians? Is the story of Seth Rich oozing out because the truth must be told?

How often does the DNC hire a spokesperson for the family of a murdered staffer?

Just checked TOP for the third time today. Still no mention of Seth Rich.

Ok, so when they aren’t blowing off the President violating his oath and potentially committing treason by blaming the “Deep State” — even though according to Erick Erickson, the leaker in this case was a Trump Supporter — they’re basically flashing shiny balls in front of our eyes in order to blind and distract.

Like basically blaming the entire Wikileaks emails disclosures on a murdered DNC Staffer.
...
The allegation that he sent “some” emails to Wikileaks is not proof he hacked the DNC and gave them all their emails. If we’re to believe merely being in contact with Wikileaks or Guccifer 2.0 was a crime — Roger Stone would already be beneath a Supermax.

Hmmmm... wasn't being in contact with WikiLeaks and Guccifer 2.0 meant you were a Russian puppet or stooge or enabler or useful idiot? Notice he uses "hack". It would be a "leak" if the person was authorized to use the DNC server.

@dkmich

It was from August 11 of last year.

Now please don't shoot me for posting this link (it's from InfoWars - I know, I know) but this guy Bauman was hired last year and there was speculation at the time that he was being hired to cover up the murder.

Democratic ‘Crisis Communications’ PR Agent Hired to Shut Down Seth Rich “Conspiracy Theories”
Cover-up surrounding murdered DNC staffer named as potential Wikileaks source?

The very fact that Wikileaks is still talking about Seth Rich’s murder and his family’s representation by a Democratic Party operative clearly suggests that the whistleblower organization thinks there may be a cover-up taking place.

As USA Politics Now highlights, the rhetoric coming from Rich’s parents seemed to change suddenly after Wikileaks put up the $20,000 reward. The concern seemed to immediately shift from finding Rich’s killer to shutting down “conspiracy theories” about his death.

Bauman put out a statement on behalf of the family asking for the public to, “refrain from pushing unproven and harmful theories about Seth’s murder,” accusing those who do of “attempting to politicize this horrible tragedy”.

Has Brad Bauman been tasked by the Democratic establishment with silencing uncomfortable questions about Seth Rich’s murder?

@LoneStarMike So, according to that press release,Brad Bauman is a founder of The Pastorum Group (TPG).

The press release also says this:

In addition to Cohen and Bauman, TPG is proud to launch with Tory Brown, principal at the firm who has previously worked for Media Matters ....

That would be Media Matters, the 501(c)(3) organization founded and operated by David Brock, the Clinton operative who also owns and operates Correct the Record and a bunch of other Clinton-DNC-related organizations.

…is that it was forcefully buried from day one. For a very long time there was no cause of death, then silence. No cause of death? Was there even an investigation? Information was never offered. Then silence. Finally the family had to hire their own investigator to do forensics on his email, which was apparently never done. Now, it turns out Seth was very well connected, politically. Then, when actual evidence points to a Wikileaks connection the family instantly denies it. Do things cease to exist when you call them a conspiracy theory? Is that how we exorcize reality these days?

I don't see a connection between Wikileaks and Seth's murder. I don't see a motive that doesn't spring from prejudice. But what I do find odd, in retrospect, is that there has never been a forensic on the violated DNC server, which is at the common center of all this madness. It is what sent the Democratic Party careening down history's storm drain and may ultimately be the cause of WWIII.

@Pluto's Republic Maybe I am reading this wrong but what do you mean by this?

I don't see a connection between Wikileaks and Seth's murder.

I see a huge connection here. The DNC was pissed at the leaks and the Podesta emails show that he was sure they came from within. Podesta also wrote the following:

The is no other rational explanation for the murder of Seth Rich. He was executed and not one thing was taken from him.

The Clintons and the people they associate with are sociopaths IMO. I would not be surprised if they did have Rich murdered. As far as the family of Seth Rich, I believe someone has gotten to them and maybe even threatened them. This is very ugly that there has been a murder that no one in the position to do something has done anything to push to solve it. There is video evidence as well that has been impounded.

@gulfgal98

I want to embrace that. It paints my enemies as monsters and condemns them.

But the narrative that, if you cross or betray someone in politics, they immediately have you murdered — is not how things work in DC. I wish it were, Then we would not be dealing with any of these asshats; they'd all be dead by now.

The key is the timeline. I saw a few of the documents on Guccifer 2's blog in late spring. When did Wikileaks receive them? When was Seth killed? When did Wikileaks start to release them? When did the DNC realize they had been copied? (After Guccifer, they were repeatedly copied, according to what I've read.) When did the British diplomat receive them and pass them to Wikileaks?

The only scenario that creates a motive for the DNC's involvement is if they had discovered Seth was mucking around in there and downloading to a thumbdrive or to his laptop, with plans to use them to sabotage the election. Then, he might be stopped before he did it. The don't have to shoot him. It would be very simple to have him arrested and seize his data. He'd still be in jail — and Hillary still wouldn't be president.

If they didn't suspect Seth until the letters had already started to show up online, killing him in revenge seems dumb. Why not fire him? Maybe ruin his career.

But did Seth even have them on a laptop or thumb drive? His laptop would have the answer to that. Who did the forensics on that? No one looking for that type of evidence, for sure. We know that hackers were using Podesta's password to get into the DNC servers. That had been going on for awhile. And, still the DNC would hot let the FBI look at the servers. Then, the DNC hires this wacky Ukrainian, Russia-hating, IT specialist to handle the whole thing.

I didn't do the research or nail down the timeline. I assumed it would have been done in the course of either investigation, the murder and the DNC hack. Things would become clear.

Now several agencies have the forensic evidence in their hands, and can make the connection to Seth, if there is one. Yet they have never mentioned an internal breech or download done while Seth was online. Either it didn't happen, they never looked, or they buried it in order to false flag Russia. If that was the plan, then one of our intelligence agencies would take Seth out (since he was the only one who knew the truth). They would make up the Russian code story (since the hackers used no code to get in, they had a password) and then refuse to show it to anyone (for national security reasons), and tell the DNC that the Russian's did it.

In the end, there is nothing that ties the DNC to Seth's murder and nothing that ties Seth to the copied documents — in the real world. If it were a professional hit, wouldn't they make it look like a robbery?

@Pluto's Republic But the motive is solid. If the information was already leaked, I wouldn't put it past them to have Seth killed. Some real scumbags exist in those beltway circles, and that would send a clear message.

@Pluto's Republic is Julian Assange who has said from the beginning that the DNC leaks were provided by an insider. If I am going to trust anyone with the veracity of the information, it would be Wikileaks which has had a 100% accuracy in reporting since its existence. There would be no reason for Julian Assange to risk the credibility of his site by lying about the source of the leaks.

If it was Guccifer2, it would not be a leak, but a hack. Podesta believed it was a leak based upon his email.

As to a timeline, from what I have read, Seth Rich downloaded and sent documents to Wikileaks via Gavin MacFadyen from sometime in February 2016 until May 10 2016. He was murdered two months later.

Pluto's Republic's picture

@gulfgal98

Did Gavin MacFadyen ever identify who gave him the papers? We suspect it's an insider, only recently. Before that, most suspected hackers and Guccifer 2 had (he said) all the documents and was planning to send them on. The DNC is definitely certain it is not an insider. They have the evidence of hacks, they say. We've seen no proof of anything. The DNC certainly doesn't want us to think it's Seth (unless they can figure out how to pin his murder on the Russians). The only reason we suspect that Seth was involved in the leak is because he turned up dead. His parents say he's not the type of person who would leak documents. It could have been another insider.

Fifty percent of the American people believe the elections were "hacked" by the Russians. Now half the countries in Europe have decided that their last election was hacked by Russians. Even the New French president believes his election was hacked by the Russians. You see where this is going.

The brainwashing has suddenly picked up again with alarming intensity. We cannot effectively fight the propaganda. Too few are immune. If the Internet was the answer, they would have shut it down. Yesterday we discover Assad is Hilter, and he is sending hundreds daily to the ovens to die. Was does that mean? It means we are getting ready to attack Iran. I doubt that even Trump understands that. He thought his phony evidence report that Assad used his chemical weapons to pointlessly gas a small group of people — was the real thing and not an international scientific joke. So he bombed Syria. That's our world since the April Coup.

Everyday the NeoDemocrats think they finally have the smoking gun to impeach Trump. Everyday they are bigger fools. The president will be impeached when the Neocons are done with him. When he ceases to be a distraction, and not a minute sooner. And the Republicans will initiate it, not the Democrats.

Sorry I drifted away from the topic at hand. I do that. I delete far more than I post these days.

much of what we're looking at here is that the Deep State and the Neocon/Neoliberal/NeoDemocratic project are one. They are the same thing. If the Neocon/Neoliberals aren't smart enough to hit a leaker and destroy the supposed investigation, the Deep State is smart enough and is in synch with everything the Neocons want.

Most serious police forces are very conscious of their crime clean-up rates and how they resonate with local governments and populations.

That a high profile case, with some national attention, apparently sits in limbo, with the victim's laptop (tangential to the case) seemingly impounded for no reason, suggests that something is 'off'.
