Ryan Grim & Markos in the news again.

A great article calling out Ryan Grim from TYT and Markos. Takes on the DNC Berniebros talking point created by Perez and perpetuated by the Dems and DailyKos.

A New Harvard Study Just Shattered the Biggest Myth About Bernie Supporters

"Markos Moulitsas — publisher of liberal blogging site Daily Kos — insisted to the Huffington Post’s Ryan Grim last week that Bernie Sanders supporters were overwhelmingly white and male:
“We remained steadfastly focused on the bigger picture, the Democratic Party picture. Again, less sexy, less excitement, but Clinton wasn’t Joe Lieberman and she was running on the most liberal platform in party history. We saw little reason to further divide our party,” Moulitsas said, when asked about why his site didn’t endorse Sanders despite 60 percent of its users supporting Sanders over Clinton. “Not to mention, given the decidedly white complexion of the Sanders coalition, it made little sense to hitch our wagon to a person who had such difficulties attracting the party’s key growth demographics — Latinos, African-Americans and women. In other words, we were focused on the future.”

If you haven't already, be sure to read the Grim lovefest with Kos that reads like a paid ad. For your convenience, here it is again. I posted it in an essay earlier, and Mark followed up on it on his essay today.

I don't need no damn study to tell me that "Bernie Bros" was bullshit. I went to a bunch of Sanders rallies and, yeah, there were white males there but the crowds were diverse, believe me. By no means were these White Males Only events. The Clinton Dems got that Bernie Bro shit from that slimeball Brock.

The Clinton Cabal are totally unimaginative, clueless, entitled, soft-brained, money-addled ciphers for their oligarch masters - and nothing more. Impressed by velvet ropes, private jets, swank hotel rooms, lavish cocktail parties (how much was $hills spending on 5 star accommodations, while Bernie flew coach?), and bragging about their indulgences, used as a lure to keep wide-eyed hopefuls rapt and on the "guest list" on the way to full fledged membership into their Neoliberal Club.

No surprise they dredged up the same losing campaign tactics. She's got no conviction at all, and it was apparent to everyone. Cry sexism the whole way, then paint Bernie Sanders supporters the same way you did Obama's.

I'm reminded these past couple of days of how nauseatingly pathetic and angering they are (so much so that it's actually making me think about, as a friend of mine admitted to having done, watching the Hills "victory" party from election night, with relish, just to see all the crestfallen Neoliberal minions duped into believing it was all about HER, the first woman president). Figures also that the cheesiest, worst candidate of all-time (next to Drumpf) would have the cheesiest, one of the worst 80's douchebags play her party, Bon Jovi. Two of the lamest, most fraudulent people in their fields.

‘Bernie Bros’ And ‘Obama Boys’: Echoes Of 2008 In Media’s Clinton-Sanders Pundit Clash

But that broadside gave life to a more specific narrative in the blogosphere: the scourge of the “Obama Boy,” a term coined in a 2008 Salon headline , though not the body, of a piece by Rebecca Traister, one of same authors who has repeatedly weighed in on the Bernie Bro this season. In the 2008 piece, Traister described women who, while sympathetic to Obama if not outright supportive, felt alienated by latent and sometimes not-so-latent sexism from male supporters .

“You already see this idealistic longing projected on Obama,” says one woman interviewed by Traister. “People talk about him as a secular messiah who will bring us political salvation. There’s no sense of what is plausible.” Unchecked idealism is also one key aspect of the Bernie Bro, as the Atlantic wrote last year: “The Berniebro doesn’t really have a good answer when you ask why the Democratic Party, which has spent six years explaining how its market-based healthcare policies aren’t socialist, would ever find national success nominating an actual democratic socialist.”

The 2008 piece also suggests that sexism clouds Obama Boys’ judgment of the facts, causing them to ignore Hillary’s “more progressive” healthcare plan (probably not the case today) in favor of the young man from Chicago. Back to the Bernie Bro manual: “The Berniebro has spent most days since March 2008 in an environment where bland support for Barack Obama was so presumed as to be unspoken.”

Tom Watson, hunter of Bernie Bros and founder of the organization #HillaryMen along with Peter Daou, a former adviser to Clinton and the Clinton Global Initiative, has recently been deleting tweets from 2008 in which he slammed Obama in tones he now reserves for the Sanders camp. “The messiah complex in Obama scares the hell out of me — as does his campaign's casual acceptance of sexism so easily in order to win,” he wrote in one of them.

@Mark from Queens thing with Hillary's loss. While she does indeed get that Democrats are as corrupt as Repugnants, she cannot let go that "sexism" was a BIG part of Hillary's loss. Now, I will say, in my humble opinion this friend has somewhat of a hang-up where sexism is concerned. She will ALWAYS assume that any man who does not listen enough is doing that because she's female. While of course there is real sexism, I feel that her hyper sensitivity there is overblown. She's also of a younger generation than I am, and sometimes I see that the younger ones want to believe almost every slight is sexism and not normal human behavior or, God forbid, the fact that a woman can be just as much of an asshole as any man when she puts her mind to it.

I did my stint in the Army and sure, there was LOTS of sexist behavior, but why in hell would I expect much different, going into a male dominated "field" so to speak. They cheapen and mock what real sexism is and was for too many women, and the fact that they now want to use this to explain the loss of one of the WORST "Democratic" candidates in history just shows me that our plutocratic masters will continue to use that to divide and conquer. And sadly, far too many women will buy that. So much easier to believe its all just misogyny instead of looking at cold hard reality. And one hell of a lot easier to put on your pink pussy hat and go out and protest the Rumper instead of protesting the entire shitty ass system that ensured his place in history.

The most liberal platform in history wasn't decided on until after Bernie conceded and they decided what the platform was going to be. Even then most of Bernie's ideas didn't make them on their platform.
Remember the fight against the TPP and other issues?
Telling everyone that universal health care will never ever happen isn't progressive.

It was in the only diary that Markos ever wrote that I saved because he declared that Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic nominee in it, even though she claimed she had not made up her mind until considerably later. The fix was in from at least July 2014.

He basically said "Support Hillary or get off my site." In mid-March. Actually, he'd decided it earlier and set the mid-March deadline, when, in February? So by February 2016, he had already decided his site was going to be a pro-Hillary site.

Why bother to try to hide it?

@orestes I remember losing my mind over everyone allowing an "app" to count votes without even having access to the source code, no escrow, no expert review, nothing. How do you know the "app" didn't just show fancy flying graphics, who verified the actual votes being counted? Nobody.

Sorta like that flying envelope Windows used to show during file copy operations. Maybe they still use it, I don't know but working IT we used to joke about the "microsoft minute" it was so long, and horribly inaccurate with time estimates. Terrible to think how many corporate hours wasted rebooting Windows too, or waiting around for the OS to respond. I really think world should send Gates the bill for all that down time. Then put him in jail for ripping off the public his entire life. Thanks.

And they were on record as having endorsed HRC! That's how transparently bad it was. They were not confident that the accurate results were had, and were compelled to publicly say so two days later. Conscience is a wonderful thing.

The Iowa caucus was the first and most crucial contest. There was no way the Clinton henchmen were going to let it happen for a second time that she, the early favorite and in this case by far, would be embarrassed again by losing - and to an older Socialist with hardly any national name recognition at all.

The cabal was in ferocious form behind the scenes, I'm sure, doing anything and everything to not let her lose. And the best they could come up with, because as you say Bernie probably won handily, was that she squeaked out a tiny fraction of a percentage point for a "win." The caucus setup no doubt is an inherently flawed type of contest easily subject to fudging. Still, they could barely slink out of there. That's how bad it was for her.

The next two critical ones that they pulled out all the stops in cheating again for the pathetic and deeply flawed candidate were the Nevada caucus and the New York primary. In the ever-important creation of a narrative, they needed the former really badly, after Bernie crushed her in NH, and the latter so that they could claim it was all over, using the a breezy, easily controllable stretch of Southern state primaries to set up her "winning streak."

For the HRC dupes who still don't believe it was possible to throw elections I suggest reading a little history beyond 11th grade American Studies propaganda. We're rife with it. Anybody remember Tammany Hall? Sometimes you don't even have to go that far out of the mainstream. To wit, the American Experience PBS series featuring LBJ, shows a member of his staff guffawing about how they rigged the election so that he could win his first congressional seat. Oops, wonder how that got by. Oh, I know. We all laugh because it's way in the past now. That's the way we look at history in this country: let bygones be bygones, or as Barack and Pelosi infamously said when faced respectively with banker criminality and the impeachment of a lying president, "let's look forward not backward."

Here's a little known story also, regarding the results of a similar contest. In the 2008 NY primary, the numbers came back in a Harlem precinct that was under the control of a big HRC supporter, showing not one vote for Obama. They had to go back and "recount" that one. Overdid it there, didn't you, boys?

Furthermore isn't it the height of hypocrisy that the Dimocrats now invest all their time and energy in promulgating the bizarre myth that the Russians threw the election to Drumpf, while smirking at the Bernie Bros for being sore losers during the primary. These people are so sickening and full of shit.

There's plenty of evidence there; only the political will to really investigate at a high level was missing. Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman, who did the best investigative work on the 2004 stolen election, had plenty of evidence again form the 2016 primary.

But nary a word or interest from the vast, craven, lapdog MSM.

They stole the fucking thing from Bernie. But you can't say that now. Only that the Russians did it to poor Hills. These Neoliberals and their media protectorates are the scum of the earth.

Rest assured though, it will make a good short clip on an American Experience PBS special 30 years from now.

Having lost the election to him, and having failed to accurately identify the (primarily internal) cause of their defeat, the Dem establishment casts about for whatever external enemy may be at hand, in order to avoid self-examination and well-deserved critique. The Democratic Party's' fear of Trump is based primarily on its own lack of a credible alternative to him... credible being the operative word.

Trump himself is of course the most readily available scapegoat, as he is indeed capable of single-handedly inspiring fear and dread in a good two-thirds of the American electorate. But Russia too, provides a handy excuse for the Dems' failure -- fear and hatred of Russia (the quintessential Other) being a time-honored American tradition, almost as patriotic as apple pie.

According to the survey results, which were conducted among 2,027 registered voters between April 14 and April 17, 2017, Sanders is actually more popular among women, African Americans, Hispanics, and Asian Americans than white people and men.

According to the survey, 55 percent of men and 52 percent of whites approve of Bernie Sanders.
