Pelosi Helps GOP Keep The House

Bernie, because fuck this shit!

The DCCC suffered another stunning defeat by local Democrats Tuesday. Once again their handpicked recruit-- this time some guy named Cory Simpson in West Virginia-- was rejected by local voters in West Virginia's second congressional district, who voted to nominate former state legislator Mark Hunt and tell Steve Israel and his corrupt Beltway party bosses to stay out of their affairs.

. . .

Within hours of the stinging rebuke, the DCCC had removed WV-02 from it's Red to Blue website, refusing to replace Simpson with Hunt, just writing off the whole congressional district entirely and making it easier for Republican Alex Mooney to win reelection in November.

. . .

Next week, the DCCC may see another slap in the face from voters, this time in Oregon, where progressive Bernie-backer, Dave McTeague, is running against the very right-of-center head of the Blue Dogs, Kurt Schrader. Schrader has over $1.5 million in cash on hand and has already spent $442,433 to McTeague's modest $30,629 in expenditures (and mere $991 cash on hand.) Blue America has endorsed McTeague.

. . .

After Oregon, the DCCC faces stiff opposition to some of their most corrupt and conservative candidates in New Jersey, where Alex Law is challenging that state's most right-wing Democrat, Donald Norcross; Iowa, where Republican-masquerading-as-a-Democrat Monica Vernon is the DCCC candidate against Pat Murphy; California, where the DCCC parachuted in some Orange County lawyer, Bryan Caforio, to sabotage the official Democratic Party candidate, progressive Lou Vince; and then in Florida, where progressive hero Tim Canova faces off against venal bribe-taker Debbie Wasserman Schultz

They want the usual Blue Dog scum, and centrist, Wall Street-bootlickers.

Oh, and Barnet Frank is the worst. I think he's a prime example of the kind of assclowns the Democratic Party apparatchik. The guy is a socially liberal neoliberal.

The entire Democratic Party has sold their soul to the highest bidder. The Black Congressional Caucus has no integrity. Maxine Waters and John Lewis sold out.

Fuck 'em all!

She refused to endorse Clinton, but I can't find anything to the effect that she endorsed Sanders. Pathetic.

That was just what the doctor ordered. Another bowl of Cali Kush and a shot or two of rum and I can turn in with a clear mind and clear conscience.

I do not live in Dave McTeague's district.

I live in District 2 - that one with Greg Walden. Sigh...

But I am trying to make up for my apology by voting other Bernie supporters to statewide offices and for Kevin Stine (a truly pleasant surprise this election cycle). Stein is from my neck of the woods - rather conservative woods at that. Smile

So, I am rooting for good folks of District 5 this cycle.

My vote is already in for Stine, McTeague and Bernie. However, I'm not holding out a whole lot of hope for a McTeague win. I've shared info about him on my Facebook page and many of my active Democratic friends/acquaintances are aware of him, but I'm still unsure if he's been able to break through to the average voter. I *hope* so and would love to see Conservadem Schrader kicked out on his keister. I've seen Stine get a small amount of coverage, so I'm a bit more hopeful there. Big hills for both of them to climb but I'm trying to be optimistic. Wink

By the way, if there are any local Salemites here, these are the recommendations of Progressive Salem for city council (depending on what ward you are in): Matt Ausec, Cara Kaser, and Sally Cook.

I also voted for Stine and McTeague as well as Bernie. I'm angry, voted for non-DNC people as much as possible all the way down my ballot.

but am doubtful. Stine has my vote. As does Julian Bell against our Hillary-supporting accidental governor. I had Wyden's office remove my e-dress from its mailing list; said that his support for TPP canceled out everything else.

"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." --Jiddu Krishnamurti

Those who are in the elevated positions of both major parties understand what their role is. The Republicans are to advance the cause of corporatist rule, while the Democrats are to keep We the People distracted so that we don't interfere with the Republican efforts to advance corporatist rule. Those who don't understand this, or who choose to oppose this effort, never rise to such positions of influence and control.

Bernie Sanders has shown that the corporatist effort can be defeated. I hope I live long enough to see its well-deserved demise.

They don't care whether they win majorities, and may not care much even about keeping their own seats, as long as the platinum parachute into K St or elsewhere is nice enough.

The DNC (and especially the DSCC) types HATE Grayson. They'd much prefer a recently-Republican who supports the XL pipeline and the TPP. Reid's encounter with Grayson perfectly illustrates the neoliberal contempt toward actual liberals. (I love that Grayson said to Reid, "Say my name". Reid's refusal to say "It's Grayson" suggests that he has also seen Breaking Bad).

they need to take him out?

It's great that Grayson takes the fight to the Republicans and stands up to the blue dogs but he's got to know that his opponents will use anything to take him down. So what is he doing running a hedge fund at all? With a foot in both worlds he opens up a vulnerability.

The personal behavior of an individual is of infinitesimal importance compared to how they vote. Whatever damage Grayson has caused to people through his participation in a typical financial scheme is practically invisible compared to the damage caused by votes for war, for pollution, for fossil fuel support, for corporate hegemony; just the kind of votes we see coming from Murphy and the rest of the Democratic establishment.

Alex Mooney wanted MD 8 or 6. [Hard for me to tell since they redrew the lines and I am on the border of US Congressional Districts, State Senate and Delegate Districts and County Council Districts, whew!]. The county where I live is kinda rednecky and red. Mooney failed here and went to the neighboring WV county to ply his trade. We're only one county from DC and the Dem apparatus here is ossified and useless. A bunch of us are going to change that though.
