Our French connection is struggling with the Dreaded Plague, so this is a free form French fried curly potato stand in. Perhaps we can do some Macron bashing or sort out the motivations of Le Pen? Discuss French wines or truffles and escargot? I'm sure something about the yellow vests is worth considering.
Sort of a continuation from yesterday's OT

interesting conversation...
Max and Stacy chat to author, philosopher and blogger, Charles Hugh Smith of https://www.oftwominds.com/ about the acceleration in entropy of the economic, monetary and cultural systems around us. Charles focuses on the positive of what comes after the collapse in terms of a better quality of life based less on hyper-consumption and more on local communities. (25 min)

Think global, Act local!
Hope all is well in your local scene where ever you are!
Thanks for filling in Q and wishing Dawn a quick and speedy recovery.

Something positive about cleaning up the oceans
.
2021 was another incredible ride for our team. In this latest video, we take a look back at these 365 days, in which we made substantial progress on our mission to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. From groundbreaking research to forging global partnerships, from reaching proof of technology with our latest ocean system to new Interceptor deployments in rivers — we navigated tumultuous seas and were greeted by stunning rainbows.

And that calls for
a couple more JdCT installations- ones that are partially dry now at times, but soon enough will be all wet:
This piece is called "The Rising Tide", and it is in the Thames estuary in London.
And yes, the horses' heads are petroleum pumpjack headstocks. The more we pump, the more she rises... He reprised it in Lanzarote, below:
Another one, also from Lanzarote, simply entitled "Microplastics":

The point is for the rider's heads to barely be above the surface at high tide. Today, anyway...

Afternoon
QMS. I enjoyed the Hula water murals. Thnxs for posting them, the music, and hosting the OT.
Hope you are doing well, also hope Dawn's Meta is on the mend.
A couple of quick hits.
Could this be Brandon 2.0?
But what about the DNC screwing Bernie twice during the primaries?

the DNC is evil
as we all know. Blacklist consultants working for progressive challengers, run centrists who were defeated in the primary as write in candidates. Force candidates out of the Presidential race and strongly back a nobody even though they said they'd be neutral.
They're just bad news.
