Nice photos. I read that for leaves to change it needs to be cold enough for the chemical changes to take place. Or something ... but they are turning finally. Which means that I'll be raking them from now until forever. My yard is ringed by huge trees and it's long. I bought this house for the yard and so my dawgs could play in it. They don't..
Isn't that video a trip? "Hey man what are you really into?.. existential blues

I forget the name of the flowers but they are huge. As big as my hand or bigger. We have lots of varieties around here. The light that day was perfect.

I like the blend of light and color in the last shot. The flowers look like Angel Trumpet.

you can get higher resolution on your photos and bypass the c99p size limitations by uploading your images to a free image hosting site and linking to them there.
are more vivid? They use another site that they upload their photos from? Sounds great. I have no idea how this works though? Little help?

they both use Flickr. Go to the flickr site, sign up, then you can upload your photos there. I'm not totally familiar with flickr but usually after your images are uploaded you can post them here by using a direct link to them or there is probably buttons that will generate the code for you.

I did sit outside for a while with my camera one day and got some of chickadees and downy woodpeckers but haven't uploaded them yet.
My county birding group on fb is looking for people to check some local lakes for sea ducks, so maybe I'll do that one of these days. There's always so much to do living on a farm and working a regular job besides.
@Socialprogressive
Great egret pics. We have them here on the beach. I have never seen one eat like that. They stand in the tide and peck things out of the sand but they swallow it immediately. The photo with the fish is amazing. Thank you.
Nice fall colors.
Last Saturday morning I watched this Snowy Egret bag 4 fish in 20 minutes.

The egret in these shots didn't waste a lot of time before eating it's catch. Once caught, it would turn the fish so it would go down head first, and down it went.

they have to to turn the fish around and swallow the fish head first. The top fin has spines in it, and the fish can make them stand up, but it folds back flat, and the bird can swallow it.

There is a small crustaceans that they eat I think, but they are not crabs. They are rounder and have a bunch of legs. People gather them to use as bate for fishing.

Love the fall colors SD, and the trees Magi, great bird photos SP. I am afraid one day the flickr type sites will go the way of photobucket, etc. The low res discourages theft.
This is a Goldenrod of some sort.
A Leaftail (dragonfly), probably Five-striped
This is not this year, and I probably posted this before. For maples you need cold nights and dry, no wet. If it stays warm and wet at the wrong time they go brown or even drop green.
