Didn’t Bush Do This?
Remember years ago when Bush was running for President? And he was in the super market, showing how ‘normal’ he was, and he didn’t even know how to go through the actual process of buying things with the cashier? He was raised with other people doing his shopping for him, shopping is too menial a chore for someone that well off, and he didn’t even realize it. Well, I ran across a Really American video the other day talking about a video that Trump’s grandkid (yea, he’s got them), made about buying stuff in a very posh ‘grocery’ store in LA and then trying it out. I kept wondering if she knew that Bush had screwed this kinda thing up years ago. But probably not, she’s too young. The Really American video discussing her video is hilarious. So I’ve linked it below so we can all have a chuckle.
Another Couple of Recent Interesting Articles
This one, by the Lever, goes into why we (regular consumers) won’t be getting whatever we paid in tariffs back. Basically, it’s because the big companies, like Amazon, want to keep what they are refunded by the government and not forward it us. Here's the article: How Tariff Secrecy Could Cost You A Refund.
And this article, by Corbin Trent from America’s Undoing, really spoke truth to me. Why aren’t the Democrats doing ‘anything’ about the war (and whatever else) that so many people disapprove of? Because they are on the same side as the Republicans. We all know that, but it’s good to see a younger, independent writer agree: Why Is the Resistance Failing to Resist?.

Happy day to everyone! It was really windy here yesterday, power's flickered a few times. I'm going to spend today checking to see if we have any trees or branches down, and so on. On the other hand, with all the rain, the grass has grown about a foot in a day!

I had no idea; you'd think if they knew anything, it was how to buy things.
I don't recall this Bush incident at all; obviously it was before he crossed The Unforgivable Line (or as halcyon-era Michael Moore'd dubbed it, "A Very American Coup"), so I wasn't paying laserlike attention just yet.
EDIT: This guy is wrong about at least one thing: The fact she doesn't like kombucha doesn't necessarily mean she's an underage drinker (and it's not as if that isn't normal, especially in small doses). Kombucha's a sour-tasting fungus-thing for health-nuts; it's popular in Germany. It's not alcoholic in and of itself...so that much is sloppy/opportunistic on the host's part.
In fact...yeah, not impressed with this guy. This isn't funny, it's obnoxious TMZ-fare. I have real things to worry about.

Good morning Sima. Had a PG&E event Tuesday
late.late night or early Wed am. First came insistent phone call waking us up to tell us that out power was out. Later another all to tell us that it was back on. Then, yesterday morning all sorts of things were offline or down and some apps in the computers wee erratic or dysfunctional, bad enough that we're still in recovery mode. Iran doesn't need to attack California, our "public utilities" do it on a very frequent basis, blowing shit up, starting fires, service outages and, of course, constant rate increases
My wife and I both started some programmed exercise programs (21 weeks worth) through Kaiser and we each have a somewhat different program & schedule. Sure emough, the PG&E event somehow killed chromecast in the living room which is where we do this due to the need for adequate pace. For some reason it still works if the source is my chromebook, but not if it is either of our computers, which is how we were doing it. Now the problem is whether to try to restore the full functionality and risk losing the chromebook kludge or not.
Given that the war and all of its consequences will surely happen without any of my input or involvement, these "petty" first world issues are my pressing concerns. I always knew that "nothing is so bad that the police won't make it worse" is also true if you substitute government for police, but, of course know that such is also true of any and all variations of "the help desk", so, as with most things, we're on our own. Ah well.

I had 3 dates with one of them decades ago. He had a plan to move me to Austin, get me into a big firm, thinking I would be some magnet to attract clients. He even suggested how tweaking my face body with plastic surgery from time to time would be a business plus.
So, he told me the story of how he and his second wife went into a Walmart and bought their wedding rings. They entertained their friends at the country club with the jokes and laughter about how poor folks actually thought such jewelry was valuable. We are their source for jokes, people. And brutally hard labor.
