Album of the Week 2-14-26

Afternoon folks!

This week among other things, there are a handful of great live albums. Starting off is a live album from Chicago blues guitarist Lonnie Brooks, followed by a studio album from another Chicago blues guitarist Otis Rush. After that it's another live album, this time from harmonica player and singer Junior Wells backed by one of Chicago's tightest backing bands, The Aces. Then we have a compilation album of Washboard Sam, backed by Roosevelt Sykes and Big Bill Broonzy. Following that we get more modern with an album from New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty and then yet another live album from blues rock guitar legend Roy Buchanan. Finishing up in the diversity department is a fun album from a bunch of Canadian folkies, Moxy Fruvous.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

great selections. Moxy is a popular Boston area
beverage, never even heard of it until a few years back.
It is a cola with smokey undertones. Quite good.

Thanks for the tunes!

Thanks for showing me 'something beautiful'. I loved the whole Trombone Shorty album. The music sounded familiar in some ways, but also something new and original. I thought of Stevie Wonder, some Ska stuff, and more.

Of course, the real problem is when you entrust society to billionaires, and so Elon Musk is now touting his proposed moon base, which is nonsense for the same reason the Mars idea was nonsense.

@Cassiodorus

it's interesting how different billionaires approach what to do with their "winnings." bezos and musk both have chosen to burn their money up in space. musk wants to build a billionaire clubhouse on the moon or mars to get away from all of us losers and bezos wants to send us all out into space in floating space malls so that he can turn the earth into a billionaire clubhouse. go figure.
