Baby I'm back

Had a great vacation. Didn't want to broadcast an empty home for a couple of weeks online. Seemed prudent at the time. Made a big loop down to Lake Havasu for a couple of days. And then on to my brothers house in Sedona for a couple more. Had not seen my bro for a couple of decades, so it was special to marvel how much the both of us has aged.
We set out for Monument Valley in a slow cruise, taking in all the sights and even a few side trips along the way. We journeyed out into the Valley of the Gods ( the only time I had to put the little Toyota mini MH in four wheel drive) and spent the night and much of the next day in wonder.
Next was the Natural Bridges National Monument, which surprisingly, was open as the fed shut down was still going on.
Capital Reef National Park Was awesome to see.
From there we took back roads to Provo and stayed in remote primitive campgrounds. From Provo, Utah the road was familiar but the urban growth was phenomenal. Didn't recognize anything from the last time through.
Same with Boise, Idaho, massive new construction everywhere.
Found another primitive campground in the Blue Mountains, Oregon to spend our last night on the road.
Topped the tank off when we got home to Vancouver, Wa. Blew through $1005 in gas and went a tad over 3000 miles.
Gas prices varied from $5.99 a gallon in California to $2.74 in Arizona. Now I know why there are so many electric cars in Cali.
It was a good break from the sadness of our friend passing peacefully.
RIP Annie. This post is for you.
So I'm back to my keyboard spewing forth more inane wit and wisdom.
Wad I miss, besides Thanksgiving?
Thread is open.

Sounds like a wonderful trip...
Coming from the green world of Alabama, the Red Country is such a stark contrast. So beautiful.
Glad you're back, and thanks for the OT!
