Happy Friday everyone. I hope everybody is doing well. Post any photos, memes, or music you like.

Every month the camera club I'm in has a challenge subject. This month's subject is ICM. What is ICM? I'm glad you asked. ICM is intentional camera movement, where you intentionally move the camera while the shutter is open. Camera motion can consist of panning, zooming, rotating, or any other random movement of the camera. Depending on the subject, and the type of movement, results can range from artistic to awful. I won't say I got anything artistic so here are some of the less awful results.

and that is with the nifty anti-blur feature
enabled sheesh

The photos you've posted in the past have always looked good. If you do have a problem with a lot of blurry shots, try using a monopod or tripod to steady your camera.

I really like the flaming centre of the flower. Is it one flower multiplied through movement? The pink Camellia/Zinnia or Rose (?) is the most dynamic, swirling around.

The first shot is a group of 3 Orchids that I zoomed out while the shutter was open. The pink flower and the flowers in Flash Flood are Ranunculus.

Neat shell shot, how big was it? They are tasty too. The second pic almost looks like water hyacinth shaped leaves. I love the frons on that palm of yours. Neat photos as always Janis!

I suppose if you slice it thin and colour it, it could be baloney!

The NZ Abalone - the Paua. This one is only 4.5" long, but can grow up to double the size.

The name of the flower starts with ‘H’ but is land based.

Wow, those get big. Into the 70's in socal they were abundant at any tide pools, and shallow rocky areas. There were three species of sizeable ones, maybe about 8" tops. I kept some in a tank I had for local tide pool stuff. Ate a bunch, as good as lobster to many folks. They are algae grazers. They are now all but absent where they were abundant such as the Palos Verdes Peninsula in SW L.A. County. Mostly poached for food. The tropical types are usually much smaller, a cheap snail to them, if not a quick bite. They aquaculture abalone now since the stocks got so depleted. I think they are fairly to very protected now in much of CA.

Great Pics as always SP. Was thinking I needed glasses for a bit...

I just popped open my rear access panel and took this image of the neural network in my medula oblangata. Turns out the whole damn thing is a lizard brain!

This is a Mealy Sage. We had one with three dozen flower stalks, deer just ate the whole thing.

The Pipevine Swallowtail eats only Pipevine, which looks like a blade of grass. It acquires alkaloids and becomes distasteful, just like the Monarch cats do from eating Milkweeds. The black and red is nature's warning sign. The 'red' can be yellow or orange too of course (as a warning sign).

Apparently things learn quickly the black and blue butterflies don't taste good. At least five other species of swallowtails have female only morphs which are black and blue instead of their normal yellow and black, believed to be benefiting from protective coloration by predators learning Pipevines don't taste good (Batesian mimicry). Pipevine are the most abundant Swallowtail in many areas, often more common than all other swallowtails put together in a given area (such as where I live).

That Sage doesn't look very mealy to me. It must not have looked mealy to the deer either since they ate it.

I wonder what the reference is to that name? Botanically I think Mealy bugs. Which I don't seen on it. Maybe the seeds are mealy? Botanists can be bad as birders naming shit though...

camera club member. Your camera shots are outstanding, too. My favorite is Ghost in the Machine. Love the captions. jb, abalone is also used in jewelry. I have an unique silver necklace with an abalone pendant. Great photos, gang! And Bombay Calling...Sp, that is one of my top five fave tunes off a top five iconic LP called Marrying Maiden. I have it in the original vinyl. Hope all is well with everyone. Rec'd!! Happy Easter, FWIW.

@Socialprogressive Bombay Calling is off of It's A Beautiful Day, not Marrying Maiden. I have both vinyl LPs. Yessir Sp, I most certainly do have a turntable to play them on. In fact, I have a full rig to digitize vinyl.
