Censored, Canceled, Incarcerated, and Controlled

Across the media platforms TPTB are controlling the narrative. You will be banned if you color outside the lines. Even the president of the United States (who as Dylan says must sometimes have to stand naked) was canceled. Despite eliminating Trump from the social media platforms, MSM can't resist continuing to use him for click bait just as they did in 2016 and through his presidency. Several things happened this week which led to this topic today. Donziger was convicted and sentenced to about four years of prison for winning a judgement against Chevron. Hale was also sentenced for about four years for revealing US droning of primarily innocent civilians. Julian sits in a maximum security prison for daring to expose US war crimes....And there's much more below the fold.

JFK's assassination is often cited as the source of the term "conspiracy theory" because it is an expression of dismissal to use against anyone who questions the accepted narrative.
https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2016/08/24/the-term-conspiracy-theory-w...

In 2013 Professor Lance Dehaven-Smith in a peer-reviewed book published by the University of Texas Press showed that the term “conspiracy theory” was developed by the CIA as a means of undercutting critics of the Warren Commission’s report that President Kennedy was killed by Oswald.

Oliver Stone has a new documentary which premiered last week at Cannes that looks at the facts and supplements his movie, JFK.

When ‘JFK: Revisited’ premiered on Monday, July 12, the mainstream media didn’t praise it or pan it. They pretended it didn’t exist.

The New York Times’ vast coverage of Cannes consisted of 11 articles, most focusing on the more salacious content, such as ‘Benedetta’, a steamy story about lesbian nuns, ‘Annette’, a musical where Adam Driver sings while performing oral sex on Marion Cotillard, and ‘Titane’, where a woman has sex with a car and lactates oil. But not once has ‘JFK Revisited’ been mentioned in the supposed ‘paper of record’.

The same is true of the Washington Post, Boston Globe, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, the Guardian, the Atlantic, the New Yorker and every mainstream outlet I searched, as none of them acknowledge ‘JFK Revisited’ exists at all.

Oliver discusses the documentary and its larger implications

Film director Oliver Stone talks about his new film ‘JFK: Revisited: Through The Looking Glass’. He discusses JFK’s often over-looked campaigns for peace with the Soviet Union and Cuba prior to his assassination as well as work furthering civil rights, the details exposing an alleged cover-up of the assassination of JFK including rapid policy changes from the successor LBJ administration and alleged CIA involvement in the assassination, why larger powers wanted John F. Kennedy dead, JFK’s preparations to shatter the CIA and his belief that the war in Vietnam was a mistake, how the events leading up to the assassination of JFK were meticulously planned and the CIA’s involvement on the day, Lee Harvey-Oswald’s supervision by the CIA and much more!

Perhaps to best way to censor and cancel information is simply to refuse to talk or write about it. TPTB have been very effective in suppressing all conversation and labeling those who explore to possibility the CIA killed JFK as out of touch. Discussion still isn't allowed.

I also suspect CIA/FBI involvement in MLK, RFK and Malcolm X assassinations as well as 9/11. People are not even aware of cointelpro nor operation mockingbird. I do not doubt the continuation of these programs today.
JFK to 9/11 Everything Is A Rich Man s Trick (Documentary)

How about a more contemporary example? One like Jeffery Epstein, who to my mind was clearly murdered while in custody because he had the goods on so many powerful people. We know the CIA/FBI or some intelligence agency claimed him as an asset. In fact the CIA is involved in more than one child trafficking operation as well as the drug trade.

It isn't just the suppression of revelations of politics and spooks, but also science. As many of you know I'm a scientist. It blows my mind that scientific debate isn't allowed (especially on certain subjects which might disrupt profit streams). Science requires debate and alternate hypothesis to progress. Persecuting scientists for developing new and novel ideas is probably as old as science. Galileo comes to mind. Dr Paul Mason talks about eminence versus evidence based nutrition science. However in the case of the censoring and canceling of the FLCCC there are no more eminent critical care doctors than these folks. They wrote the textbooks, yet none the less are silenced across many media platforms.

Watch as long as you find it interesting. I found this week's FLCCC weekly update with Dr. Merik intriguing as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsijRWgi6NE&t=3m

Information that has been crucial to understanding and opposing US imperialism has long been blacked out from the corporate media. However, with the emergence of online media, or “new” media, previously hard to find information is more readily accessible for many more people. Jackson Hinkle often highlights issues of war in peace and has recently discussed Cuba, Palestine, Syria, and more.

Jackson Hinkle is the host of The Dive with Jackson Hinkle, self described as a, “populist-left perspective on news and political commentary. We are the leftist independent media that CNN doesn’t want you to hear.”

Worse than suppression and canceling is imprisonment. There are currently several on going examples.

Perhaps the most blatant is Julian Assange's case. I fear he is being slowly executed.

Doctors for Assange began writing to governments in late 2019 warning that imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange was in a fragile state of health, and could die in prison. The doctors have repeatedly called for his release on urgent medical grounds. Since then, medical experts who examined Assange testified in court to the seriousness of his medical condition. They explained that he would not survive oppressive prison conditions, and his extradition to the United States was denied on those grounds.

The High Court in London subsequently stood by the medical findings, and ruled that the medical evidence could not be challenged. Meanwhile, having won his case, Assange remains in the very conditions that caused and perpetuated his precarious state of health in the first place. With appeals set to drag on for years, unless Assange is released from prison, there is every reason to expect his condition to deteriorate, potentially dramatically so.

Given the medical evidence that is openly on the table now, Doctors for Assange warns that Julian Assange may not survive the appeal process.”

There is no rule of law, just the power of the oligarchs to maximize profit at the expense of anyone who dares to question the system or reveal its underbelly of state sanctioned corruption and violence.

In fact, Craig Murray is being imprisoned in part for his public support of Julian.
https://thegrayzone.com/2021/07/31/craig-murrays-jailing-national-securi...

Former British diplomat and independent journalist Craig Murray is the first person imprisoned in the UK over media contempt in 50 years.
...
he embarrassed the British state in the early 2000s by becoming that rarest of things: a whistleblowing diplomat. He exposed the British government’s collusion, along with the US, in Uzbekistan’s torture regime.
...
Murray has embarrassed the British state more recently by reporting the woeful and continuing legal abuses in a London courtroom as Washington seeks to extradite Wikileaks’ founder, Julian Assange, and lock him away for life in a maximum security prison.
...
the contempt proceedings against him allowed the Scottish court to deprive him of his passport so that he could not travel to Spain and testify in a related Assange case that is severely embarrassing Britain and the US.
...
his embarrassing the Scottish political and legal establishments by reporting, almost single-handedly, the defense case in the trial of Scotland’s former First Minister, Alex Salmond. Unreported by the corporate media, the evidence submitted by Salmond’s lawyers led a jury dominated by women to acquit him of a raft of sexual assault charges. It is Murray’s reporting of Salmond’s defense that has been the source of his current troubles.

How about the prosecution and now conviction of environmental lawyer Steve Donziger for winning his case against Exxon? Talk about a set up...

Donziger Slams Criminal Contempt Ruling as 'Message of Intimidation' to Human Rights Lawyers "The United States has now become one of those countries where environmental advocates are attacked, put in jail, or even murdered for doing their jobs successfully."

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2021/07/26/donziger-slams-criminal-con...

In his statement this week he explains:

• In 2011, Ecuador ruled in favor of Indigenous groups on their pollution claims and ordered Chevron to pay $9.5b in damages. Chevron refused to pay, threatened our team with a “lifetime of litigation”, and promised to adopt a “demonize Donziger” strategy.
• Judge Preska was not randomly selected to preside in the case but was hand-picked by Judge Kaplan in violation of local rules.
• The U.S. Attorney refused to prosecute the charges.
• In response, Judge Kaplan invoked an arcane rule for the first time in the court’s history to appoint a private lawyer to prosecute me. The appointment was flagrantly unconstitutional under the U.S. Constitution, for reasons that were essentially ignored by Judge Preska.
• Shockingly, Judge Kaplan selected my private “prosecutor” from a Chevron law firm. At my trial it was revealed that the private prosecutor has worked hand-in-glove with Chevron’s lawyers from the first days of the case.
• At trial, Judge Preska invoked the “collateral bar rule” to prevent the defense from submitting evidence on the main issue in the case -- that is why I chose to voluntarily and temporarily go into civil contempt to protect my clients and my own constitutional rights pending appeal.
• In March 2021, I prevailed in the key issue in that appeal, but the court and private prosecutor adamantly refused to let that impact the criminal contempt case.

Then there was the conviction this week of Daniel Hale for revealing that 90% of US drone bomb victims were innocent civilians. Can't have that an we?

Daniel Hale, a former intelligence analyst in the drone program for the Air Force who as a private contractor in 2013 leaked some 17 classified documents about drone strikes to the press, was sentenced today to 45 months in prison.

The documents, published by The Intercept on October 15, 2015, exposed that between January 2012 and February 2013, US special operations airstrikes killed more than 200 people. Of those, only 35 were the intended targets. For one five-month period of the operation, according to the documents, nearly 90 percent of the people killed in airstrikes were not the intended targets. The civilian dead, usually innocent bystanders, were routinely classified as “enemies killed in action.”

https://scheerpost.com/2021/07/27/hedges-the-price-of-conscience/
Chris continues...

The sentencing of Hale is one more potentially mortal blow to the freedom of the press. It follows in the wake of the prosecutions and imprisonment of other whistleblowers under the Espionage Act including Chelsea Manning, Jeffrey Sterling, Thomas Drake and John Kiriakou, who spent two-and-a-half years in prison for exposing the routine torture of suspects held in black sites. Those charged under the act are treated as if they were spies. They are barred from explaining motivations and intent to the court. They cannot provide evidence to the court of the government lawlessness and war crimes they exposed. Prominent human rights organizations, such as the ACLU and PEN, along with mainstream publications, such as The New York Times and CNN, have largely remained silent about the prosecution of Hale.

Caity explains:

if you tell the public the truth about your government’s crimes, you will be made an example of so nobody else tries to do that. And then for that brave and selfless act, you’ll be smeared as doing it for “self-aggrandizement”.

She continues:

The US government makes no secret of the fact that it uses draconian prison sentencing to keep people from reporting the truth about its murderous behavior. It’s the same as the way kings would torture dissidents in the town square to show everyone what happens when you speak ill of your ruler, just dressed up in 21st-century language about “national security” (a claim that is itself nonsense because as Julian Assange said, the overwhelming majority of information is classified to protect political security, not national security).

The idea is that for every whistleblower you flog in the town square with harsh prison sentences, you deter a thousand other government insiders from ever picking up the whistle themselves. They’re not punishing anyone for endangering “national security”, or even necessarily for damaging or inconveniencing them in any real way; Reality Winner’s leaks were of no particular significance, yet she got more than five years just to make an example of her.

And it works. Of course it works. If you’ve witnessed your government doing something horrific, and you’ve got kids, or if you’re in love, or if you’ve got a loved one who needs care, or if you just really don’t want to go to prison, then you’re probably going to look at these whistleblowers being robbed of years of their lives and decide you can find a way to live with the psychological discomfort of knowing what you know without saying anything.

Daniel's handwritten letter to the judge is worth the read...
Typed transcript here: https://thegrayzone.com/2021/07/27/drone-whistleblower-daniel-hales-lett...
Here's a few excerpts...

I continue to recall several such scenes of graphic violence carried out from the cold comfort of a computer chair. Not a day goes by that I don’t question the justification for my actions. By the rules of engagement, It may have been permissible for me to have helped to kill those men—whose language I did not speak, customs I did not understand, and crimes I could not identify—in the gruesome manner that I did watch them die. But how could it be considered honorable of me to continuously have laid in wait for the next opportunity to kill unsuspecting persons, who more often than not, are posing no danger to me or any other person at the time. Never mind honorable, how could it be that any thinking person continued to believe that it was necessary for the protection of the United States of America to be in Afghanistan and killing people, not one of whom present was responsible for the September 11th attacks on our nation. Notwithstanding, in 2012, a full year after the demise of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, I was a part of killing misguided young men, who were but mere children on the day of 9/11.
...
I continued to follow orders and obey my command for fear of repercussion. Yet, all the while, becoming increasingly aware that the war had very little to do with preventing terror from coming into the United States and a lot more to do with protecting the profits of weapons manufacturers and so-called defense contractors. The evidence of this fact was laid bare all around me. In the longest, most technologically advanced war in American history, contract mercenaries outnumbered uniform wearing soldiers 2-to-1 and earned as much as 10 times their salary.
...
Your Honor, the truest truism that I’ve come to understand about the nature of war is that war is trauma. I believe that any person either called upon or coerced to participate in war against their fellow man is promised to be exposed to some form of trauma. In that way, no soldier blessed to have returned home from war does so uninjured.

"I'M WORRIED, They're Trying To Control Us!" | Edward Snowden (2021 WARNING) - 10 min

We are being misinformed, misled, and lied to about most everything. I feel fortunate to have this C99 community to help parse through the propaganda and try to get at the truth of our dire situation. Last week I focused a bit on the climate collapse which rarely makes the news other than as weather events and is never tied to the culprit of fossil fuel, over consumption, and capitalism. This week we have the persecution and actual imprisonment of truth tellers for correctly informing the populace. So what shall we do? Walt Whitman has some advice.

Edit to add text...

“This is what you shall do; Love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body.”

One small item at the end of your essay ..
I get the feeling we are in an episode of Groundhogs Day.
If my math is right, we would be entering the eight month.
The 7th was OK, but maybe not so good as to re-live over again.
But if the past is better than the future, then turn back the pages.
Thanks for the OT and enjoy your Sunday.

My Canadian Apricot survived be half buried in snow and the -18 winter to bloom for the first time. GORGEOUS. Covered in white flowers. But two hard freezes during bloom. No apricots. Asian Pear came through, something I didn't expect from "Asian" in the name. But I think they are from Korea.
Peach trees damaged but still had to thin out at least 2/3 of the fruit.
Pears having bumper crop. Heading into two months of pears from four trees.
Least you get that wrong, all four are espaliered on the Western side of my garage. 20 feet. Don't use the Western side. The trees want to seek the light. Use an eastern or southern wall. I recommend Honeysweet if you only have one. self-fertile, prolific, very resistant to fireblight.
Fruit is small but very tasty. Americans tend to prefer large tasteless fruit. Europeans are smarter.

It has been quite a week and you've met the challenge to say what needs to be said. The destruction of the Press and the total suppression of opposing viewpoints is what's been on so many minds as the facts about Covid are coming into clearer focus.

First, I cannot wait to see Oliver Stone's latest work.

Second---Ed Snowden's clip gets what is so alarming and his calm presentation makes it easy to accept, even for doubters.

I also want to put in a word for Seth Rich and Michael Hastings. Two truthtellers who were murdered young to shut them up. Both murders were listed as robberies, even though nothing was missing from their bodies. The dark forces no longer care about credibility and that is very chilling.

My personal way to survive is going to be through my gardening interest. Two of my neighbors and I met yesterday to discuss how we can sustain our gardening pleasure during the long winter in NYC from our 20th floor perches. Like me, they have indoor plants, too, but not very many and in general, the same old reliable species. Our plan is to try to expand the scope of what is possible inside our homes. Just as we are amazed by the sunflowers now in full bloom on my balcony, what else can we grow inside? Daily misting to overcome heating systems that dry out our air will be key. Gardening makes the three of us happy and hopeful and learning so it's a sound plan for the short term. I think. or tell myself.

exposure with our sliding door onto the deck. So we bought a vintage wrought-iron baker’s rack, and we keep it filled to the max all winter with culinary herbs and smallish veg: we have an 8-season old rosemary bush that migrates in and out seasonally for the bottom, and we always grow chives, parsley, thyme, and basil all winter long. We’ve had some success keeping a small Serrano pepper, and mixed results with cilantro- it is very picky, and some years it just won’t play along. The rosemary, chives, and parsley are the easiest keepers, if that is of interest. The rosemary is dead easy, as long as you keep it moist: it likes some foliar watering, and rewards you by humidifying the kitchen a little bit. And chives are basically weeds, so they can be really rewarding. Just some food for thought, so to speak…

(tiny little black flies), it can be difficult- but that is true of all indoor plants. We user the Safer insecticidal soap with a little neem oil to control them, spraying early and often. We don't get aphids or fungus flies on the rosemary at all, for some reason- the local flies don't seem to like her. But they will definitely wreck parsley in very little time, and once they get into that, the other tougher plants can fall like dominoes.

The only plant we bring in and out is the rosemary for that reason. The rest, we start inside from seed with fresh soil every time, so that they haven't had a chance to get infested by being out in the world. The joy of indoor gardening and having fresh herbs within arm's reach can be a little frustrating because of those critters- but you can get there with a little perseverance.

One year we even kept a little bush grape tomato inside all winter. We didn't get many tomatoes from it, but it was a nice splash of color. Made it to early March, and just utterly keeled over overnight. Might have to try it again this winter...

It is a truly delicious irony (and very nasty prank) that the oft repeated adage "and the truth shall set you free" is not accompanied by a disclaimer to the effect that "Telling it will get you incarcerated, fired, demoted, expelled, censured, censored, de-monetized and/or otherwise punished".

"Don't be that bothersome kid constantly asking "why", just take our/their word for it" evolves as one ages, but never really changes. You have two options; Galileo recanted and retracted, Bruno was burned at the stake. There is a reason that certain folk are said to be "blissfully ignorant". That first word is significant.

Good words from Whitman, but where to insert the phrase "but do not work with food not bombs"

The first of the month, break out the chore list, the things to do, another mini cycle begins but it is still not raining here, still sere and dry and dangerous. All the same, it is raining somewhere.

Be that as it may, that wasn't my point in the first place which was disagreeing with the assertion that some huge fraction of the so-called right wing wants to work for the cause of greater equality. I'm far from convinced that the majority of the left wing wants to work for greater equality, let along the right wing or, the total populace, since both wings are, arguably, the total populace.

Most people don't want full equality and certainly aren't willing to work for it. Most folks I've met see themselves and a select set of others as better and more entitled than one or more groups who they do not believe are or should be their equals and who they feel should not be treated as their equals in one or more regards. Most folks do not feel overly driven to be on top, but damn near nobody wants to be on the bottom simply cannot get egalitarianism through their heads. They know for certain that they are certainly better than those (insert one or more classes, categories or groups of people) and are entitled to more and better (anything and everything).

Biden is a good example. Illegally bombing Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, etc. Sanctioning anyone who doesn't toe the corporate line...Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Iran, China, etc. Aggressively prodding China and Russia. Both parties are complicit in the War State USA.

To my mind both sides of the aisle are warmongers.

Twain’s “War Prayer”
"O Lord our Father, our young patriots, idols of our hearts, go forth to battle – be Thou near them! With them – in spirit – we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with hurricanes of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with their little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it – for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.”

The legislators and the corporate donors of both sides profit massively from pushing war and other rigged industries. This is true.

However, the political ideology and twisted religion that motivates US global murder and mayhem is strictly Right Wing — and it is reflected in the neglectful passivity and denialism across the entire US population. There is no Left party in US politics; there never has been. There are only activists — and they have been crushed, silenced, and murdered for more than 250 years.

The two-party kabuki plays out in irrelevant domestic issues, mostly in catching each other in hypocrisies and sexual scandals. The Dems specialize in running a bait and switch grift on the worker class in order to win elections. This is why Democrats are sometimes described as Liberal. However, the US has the worst labor laws of the top 40 developed nations. That could not happen without the century-long collision between the two Right Wing political parties — and their corporate donors. The Obama years told us everything we need to know about the Dems lust for war.

I have prepping on the brain this weekend. I am not talking about underground vaults with guns, ammo, and spam for a year, nor am I talking about canning and dehydrating enough food for a couple of years. (I didn't get my garden in this past year, but intend to have a modest sized garden in spring.)
Anyone who lives in a hurricane alley knows you need certain items for those 2 and 3 week stretches when you have no electricity, possibly no water, and the stores are not open. I have always stocked up enough food and fuel, and matches and lamps, to get me through it.
Now, I think about interruptions of the supply chain. If we have already seen a shortage of ppe's, of masks, of damn toilet paper,of basic food items on the shelves, I think it is appropriate to be prepared for a lack of food, clothing, cleaning supplies, and so forth. I am re-arranging closets and pantries to make room for storing necessities.
It is simple, and right now, most everything I stock is on sale. There is no reason to not believe the price of everything will one day shoot up to the sky.
Hey, it never hurts to have extra shoes, huh?
Take care, LO.

@on the cusp were pretty bare this week, which tells me that you and I am not the only ones preparing to survive supply chain disruptions.

They had the toilet paper I prefer so I stocked up on that, but no decent paper towels and no Gulden's mustard. and yes, paper towels are very different. I bought some "bargain" brands last time there were supply chain problems and they are practically useless.

On the specific mustard, I am old and like what I like----Gulden's and Honeycup sharp mustard. The store brands are better than nothing but not by much.

Shopping and stocking up will be important now and having done that carefully before Hurricane Sandy left me without running water or heat or electricity for 5 1/2 days, I was grateful that I had everything I needed until a semblance of normal returned.

No running water in a highrise means no toilets that flush or elevators working. In general I came thru with minimum problems, having lived on a giant commune in TN without running water and electricity in the early seventies. Toughened me up in the best way possible.

When Russiagate started seriously get pushed right after the 2016 election, I thought the flood gates of _mass_ censorship was truly born. The central compelling idea that came to be accepted by democrats, many republicans, and the media was that Russian use of social media was thee cause of Hillary's loss. By using social media the Russians took away people's agency and made them into Putin's zombies. We know that propaganda works but with social media, the effects were massive
and immediate.
Long haul propaganda was not effective as it took time. Social media propaganda could not resisted and could change the course of events in the here and now. And thus a vital and necessary need for censorship.

Thus was born the justifications and need for censorship which is now accepted by major private and public institutions over issues not having to do with traditional politics. (I read a headline in passing that some medical school instructors are afraid to teach that biological sex exists. You know some of us have x and some have y chromosomes.)

These notions have evolved to the point that the government can claim that unrestricted free speech on social media was murdering people in the actual flesh. And also if one follows Greenwald that criticizing reporters could be an actual of actual violence. Even the ACLU has given up free speech positions if the censorship involves going after "racial justice" claims.

So the White House, really the administrative deep state, wants to wipe out a person's total ability to participate in the Internet if the views are not sanctioned. The next logical step which I see some traction on is making unacceptable speech criminal as happened in UK with Craig Murray and Julian Assange. By this I mean that the jailing and retribution will be formalized in laws.

@MrWebster

here comes the stick.

"The next logical step which I see some traction on is making unacceptable speech criminal as happened in UK with Craig Murray and Julian Assange. By this I mean that the jailing and retribution will be formalized in laws."

That's right - anyone straying off the narrative reservation is clearly a terrorist threat and should be dealt with accordingly.

According to Baylor U. vaccine proselytizer Dr. Peter Hotez, anyway.

Nature Magazine April 29, 2021

Anti-vaccine disinformation has turned reasonable questions and concerns over rare side effects into conspiracy worries, exaggerated fears, and outrage at being treated like ‘guinea pigs’.
Accurate, targeted counter-messaging from the global health community is important but insufficient, as is public pressure on social-media companies. The United Nations and the highest levels of governments must take direct, even confrontational, approaches with Russia, and move to dismantle anti-vaccine groups in the United States.
Efforts must expand into the realm of cyber security, law enforcement, public education and international relations. A high-level inter-agency task force reporting to the UN secretary-general could assess the full impact of anti-vaccine aggression, and propose tough, balanced measures. The task force should include experts who have tackled complex global threats such as terrorism, cyber attacks and nuclear armament, because anti-science is now approaching similar levels of peril. It is becoming increasingly clear that advancing immunization requires a counteroffensive.

of this essay. I wish I saw a clear back door to escape the expanded censorship and tracking of people, but...

your excellent WW always straightens me out and I try to behave better. Thank You so much for all the links.

I love the Walt Whitman quote at the end. I shall do as he said.

Our German TV has quite a bit of excellent documentaries. They help me getting distracted from the current realities.

I wish you all well and pray for less environmental (and political) disasters to hit us.

I want this device JtC got for us, but one that would work towards the authors of the main stream media, who lie to rip our hearts and souls apart. I think we have been ripped apart way too often and it looks as if we can't cobble each other together again.

Have a good one.

We face a crazy future. Enter the nuthouse at your own risk, but treasure the opportunity to challenge the system. Not that we can really do anything but be awake to the sickness of the system.

Hope your garden is growing and you are happy. All the best!

...and you knew how to read history properly and could see the truth of what really happened?

What if you understood the way power works, and the way it has always worked?

What if you could grasp all the cruel injustices and dark karma woven into your society, but no one else seems troubled by the feverish violence just under the surface of our civilization. Muting your awareness is your responsibility. Bury the conflicts and the cognitive dissonance. and forget them. Every generation before you has done just that.

What if you were magically just twenty five years old? Again.

And, what if you retained just enough wisdom to know what is possible and what is not.

What would you do now if you were twenty-five?
What would you avoid?

Or was one roll of the dice enough for you?

...I've played my part as a youngin'.
I tried, lord knows I tried to teach and enlighten. I don't go to my grave doubting my efforts. However, the system is too counterbalanced against any effort thinking people exert. The propaganda megaphone is too powerful and we lack the ability to think our way out of a wet paper bag. It is a hell of a mess but it is what we face. Better look with open eyes.

As I'm fond of saying...treasure everyday and love your friends and companions.

Thanks for the comment and visit!

On when I was that mythical 25 again - when I was 25 (Carter years) or now?

Would much prefer the former. Would definitely make a point of getting laid more.

Beyond that, would want to be saving the world, of course. (or at least managing some damage control in that direction).

Think I'd recognize (with all that greater knowledge/understanding/insight) that greater concern and commitment to improving and changing myself would be of more use than trying to change other people.

best essay(s) I've seen here. Thank you - the Walt Whitman alone is a gem, was not familiar with it.

Here's a further example of attempted erasure of history and stifling of scientific debate - case of Dr. Robert Malone, one of a handful of key figures in the development of mRNA therapeutics:

I hope, LO, that you will be consistent in also upholding the non-censorship/cancellation of those holding off-narrative views on climate change as well...

...which is collected in a fair and consistent measure. However, anyone who can't see climate chaos is occurring is a bit naive in my book. Now causes can be debated, but Arctic melting and so on is undeniable.

To my mind questioning (especially accepted ideas) is a good thing. Thanks for your questions. I think they are valid. Many scientists turn their understanding into unshakable belief and that's when we get off track.

All the best!
