Having the strength and clarity to say goodbye.
She will be a loss to our community.
Hoping the transition is smooth.
Best wishes Lauren.

this morning. And unbidden tears came and have been close so far all day. Losing CS and her selfless sharing has opened a thin place for me and I can't stop the tears for all the wrongs, meanness, crimes agains nature and our planet.

Encapsulated in this one life, the idea that we are not done, we have so much health, beauty, and kindness to create and share, but it may be time to say - we will fight to the end, but cannot stop it.

In my family we paint with plants, trees, flowers, dirt and cooking. May we all paint our planet with as much beauty in reflourishing our beloved earth. It can be done.

In love...

Yes there's a chicken or two in the recording. There was a black and grey friend with him. Checking on gender.

A Cuckoo sounds off around the four minute mark.

We haven't seen these since we moved from a rental near Charolles. There were lots in winter for Sunflower seeds.

@QMS @QMS @QMS The English call it a Goldfinch. They are very tiny birds who pack a punch for the eyes and ears. We had fifty at a time ground-feeding with the small Sunflower seeds. Amazing seeing all that color in Winter.

ETA: One of my favorite albums of all time. Thank you.
And in Latin: Carduelis carduelis.

@QMS Here in America it is called European Goldfinch. It is a goldfinch. In Euro they only have one type so they just call it Goldfinch. We have three species here so that doesn't work. They tried to introduce them several times in the U.S. but they never took. Still some get seen, mostly around large urban centers as they are kept in the pet cage bird trade. Occasional escapes are seen. They are stunningly beautiful in person.

Thanks for sharing DM!

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

@dystopian In Oregon we used to have a Goldfinch, a Lesser Goldfinch then one other I think.

We think it's funny they call this colorful bird a European Goldfinch, since there are lots of colors and gold is not the most.

I keep thinking if we could bring say six or eight pairs of Anna's Hummingbirds we could establish a small colony of Hummers over here. Miss them and California Quail so much. The sounds, and very present birdies.

Thank you so much.

@Dawn's Meta

of all different types and sources in her thread, so I hope that she hears things that she knows and loves- and maybe some that she doesn't know, but offer something special that only she would know that she needs. I know that some of them are registering with me...

Godspeed. There's been a lot of loss for everyone in the past year.
