Anniversary Edition

This is the 200th issue of the WW. We've covered lots of ground in the last four years...traveled around the world a bit, worked in the garden and on the farm, maximized our health with good diet and life style, learned to avoid COVID-19, studied environmentally sound structures and alternative energy options, but the purpose and origin of this column has been to ferret out the weeks news and try to make some sense out of what has happened each week. In creating this series, I've found all news is bias by its nature. Which stories you cover, the sources you cite, the way the stories are integrated all reflect the compiler's perspective. I hope you've found some useful information in these pieces over the years. I know most weeks are a fire hose flow of links, but the WW is meant to be a menu of stories to select from...like a Sunday newspaper. That's one reason I usually try to include a comic or two. As a kid that was my favorite part of the paper. So join in as we ramble through this week's news and views.

October surprise.png

Censorship has many guises

One of the big stories of the week was the suppression of Hunter Biden's emails. I'm not sure this is any different than the way they ignored the content of the $hill and Podesta emails. All they could do is distract by focusing on Russia and Wikileaks as the source. (While ignoring the Seth Rich story, which is getting some notice because of a recent ruling). None the less this story about censorship seems to have created a stir. Anyone who ever thought Facebook and Twitter were about communication and conversation are mistaken...they are about the CONTROL of communication and conversation with TPTB, CIA, etc. holding the levers.

censors.png

Funny how the censorship has brought even more attention to the story. But notice censorship has become the story not the Biden corruption. But there's been plenty of evidence in plain sight which has been ignored. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXA--dj2-CY (1 min)

In 2016 Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, in his investigation of corruption involving Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company, identified Hunter Biden as the recipient of over $3,000,000 from the company.

Not wanting this corruption exposed, Joe Biden swung into action, using US loan guarantees as hostage while demanding Skokin be fired.

Amazingly, Joe Biden now brags about his actions in this matter.

As I suggested earlier it's what stories you cover, and which ones you don't...

All the sources covering this story with outrage while ignoring Julian's plight reveal the hypocrisy.
Julian Assange’s ‘Trial of the Century’: 10 Reasons Why it Threatens Freedom of Speech
Fidel Narváez was in the court in London for the majority of the hearings and offers this comprehensive summary.
1) The accusation is for a “political crime,” which is not subject to extradition. Publishing classified, and truthful, information is not a crime.
2) There was never a reckless disclosure of names. No one has been hurt due to WikiLeaks publications.
3) WikiLeaks’ publications are truthful information that is historically relevant.
4) WikiLeaks was not the first to publish the diplomatic cables without redaction, but only Julian Assange is being persecuted.
5) Assange never helped Chelsea Manning access national security information.
6) Assange would not have a fair trial in the U.S. ‘Spy Court.’
7) Assange would face inhumane conditions in the U.S.
8) Assange faces a high risk of suicide in the U.S.
9) Assange and his lawyers were illegally spied on by the U.S., which makes a fair trial impossible.
10) Ecuador illegally gave the U.S. confidential materials about Assange, including documents about his legal defense.

It is not just journalist being silenced. Doctors who stray from accepted treatments are silenced too. The sound quality is poor, but the content fascinating... to hear from a
Successful Covid Doctor SILENCED by Federal Trade Commission
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FqITndW4-U (47 min)

Dr. David Brownstein has successfully treated more than a hundred patients with Covid 19, without a single fatality. When he published interviews with patients and results of their treatment on his own website, however, he received a letter from the Federal Trade Commission telling him he was violating the law. The FTC wrote: “It is unlawful under the FTC Act, 15 U.S.C Sec. 41 et seq. to advertise that a product or service can prevent, treat, or cure human disease unless you possess competent and reliable scientific evidence, including, when appropriate, well-controlled human clinical studies, substantiating that the claims are true at the time they are made. For COVID-19, no such study is currently known to exist for the products or services identified above. Thus, any Coronavirus-related prevention or treatment claims regarding such products or services are not supported by competent and reliable scientific evidence. You must immediately cease making all such claims.”
Dr. Brownstein is a Board-Certified family physician with decades of experience working with patients who have heard "there's nothing we can do for you." He is the Medical Director of the Center for Holistic Medicine in West Bloomfield, MI. According to his website, "Dr. Brownstein has lectured internationally to physicians and others about his success in using natural hormones and nutritional therapies in his practice. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Brownstein is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College for the Advancement in Medicine."

Here's the treatments he used and outcomes of his 100+ patients
Interventions:Oral Vitamins A, C, D, and iodine were given to 107 subjects (99%). Intravenous solutions of hydrogen peroxide and Vitamin C were given to 32 (30%) and 37 (35%) subjects. Thirty-seven (35%) of the cohort was treated with intramuscular ozone. A dilute, nebulized hydrogen peroxide/saline mixture, with Lugol’s iodine, was used by 91(85%).
Main Outcome Measures: History and physical exam were reviewed for COVID-19 symptoms including cough, fever, shortness of breath, and gastrointestinal complaints. Laboratory reports were examined for SARS-CoV-2
Results: Symptomatic improvement after treatment was reported for each patient consisting of first improvement, mostly better, and completely better. Of the 102 patients only one required hospitalization after beginning treatment. There were no deaths.

Tim Noakes was silenced for his view of healthy diet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtmK8ZBsUJg (15 min summary)

In 2014, Professor Tim Noakes was reported to the Health Professions Council of South Africa for giving unprofessional dietary advice. He was advocating a low-carb, high-fat diet… in a tweet.
What followed was a four-year legal process of Kafkaesque proportions. Should a top-level scientist have his life and legacy ruined by a tweet? And is there anything wrong with a low-carb diet in the first place?
Fortunately, Professor Noakes is a fighter, and he was certainly not about to give up.
Here’s the story of Noakes’ fascinating multi-year struggle, with interviews of people who participated, and video from the court case, in a mini documentary.

Stray from the accepted narrative and you WILL BE SILENCED one way or another. As upchuckie said, they got six ways from Sunday of getting you.

The Election and Voting

Voting has started and there's plenty of manipulation there. They got six ways from Sunday of stealing your vote too...

Across Los Angeles, Fresno, and Orange County, fake ballot boxes were distributed and almost indistinguishable from the official drop-off sites maintained by the state. But only after being bombarded with countless questions from reporters did the California Republican Party admit to placing more those 50 “official” drop boxes for mail-in ballots over the weekend. As a result, state officials have called this an illegal act that could lead to voter fraud.

The Week: Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist discusses Joe Biden’s campaign strategy in The Great Lakes State. HuffPost political reporter, Daniel Marans, explains how Donald Trump’s trickle-down system is hurting his re-election efforts among economically vulnerable voters. Author of, “They’re Not Listening: How The Elites Created The National Populist Revolution,” weighs in on how he thinks Republicans could still win the presidential election.

Evidently they have registered lots of new republican voters. I don't know what we'll see on Nov. 3, but I'm expecting chaos. I hope I'm wrong.

This is a nice summary of coronavirus basics (10 min)

The array of problems

no change.jpg

In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max and Stacy note that the World Health Organization’s special envoy on Covid-19 now says that lockdowns are a bad idea and that the organization is expecting a doubling of poverty and child malnutrition due to lockdowns. At least now that an official body has said this, ordinary people are allowed to debate the issue on social media.

In the second half, Max chats to professor Steve Keen, author of 'Debunking Economics', about life in Thailand where Covid-19 is almost non-existent relative to Western economies. With the cowboy mentality of America, however, a similar mask-wearing compliance is unlikely to work, so what is the answer?

The central banks just keep printing money. There WILL be a day of reckoning.

In this episode of the Keiser Report, Max and Stacy look at the crazy antics of central banks that may require a commission to determine the fitness of these ivory tower economists to hold office. They look at the ‘oops, my bad’ as the Boston Fed president now says low interest rates made the current economic crisis worse. In the second half, Max chats to Pierre Rochard to discuss bitcoin on corporate balance sheets.

Though the full effects of our economic disaster have not come home to roost, the primary problem we don't even attempt to address is climate and ecosystem collapse.

We are the generation that is likely to witness the destruction of our Earth.

When the Frost is on the Punkin
By James Whitcomb Riley

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock,
And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin’ turkey-cock,
And the clackin’ of the guineys, and the cluckin’ of the hens,
And the rooster’s hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O, it’s then’s the times a feller is a-feelin’ at his best,
With the risin’ sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock.

They’s something kindo’ harty-like about the atmusfere
When the heat of summer’s over and the coolin’ fall is here—
Of course we miss the flowers, and the blossums on the trees,
And the mumble of the hummin’-birds and buzzin’ of the bees;
But the air’s so appetizin’; and the landscape through the haze
Of a crisp and sunny morning of the airly autumn days
Is a pictur’ that no painter has the colorin’ to mock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock.

The husky, rusty russel of the tossels of the corn,
And the raspin’ of the tangled leaves, as golden as the morn;
The stubble in the furries—kindo’ lonesome-like, but still
A-preachin’ sermuns to us of the barns they growed to fill;
The strawstack in the medder, and the reaper in the shed;
The hosses in theyr stalls below—the clover over-head!—
O, it sets my hart a-clickin’ like the tickin’ of a clock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock!

Then your apples all is gethered, and the ones a feller keeps
Is poured around the celler-floor in red and yeller heaps;
And your cider-makin’ ’s over, and your wimmern-folks is through
With their mince and apple-butter, and theyr souse and saussage, too! ...
I don’t know how to tell it—but ef sich a thing could be
As the Angels wantin’ boardin’, and they’d call around on me—
I’d want to ’commodate ’em—all the whole-indurin’ flock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock!

A buddy put one of Riley's poems to music

A Tale Of The Airly Days
by James Whitcomb Riley

Oh! tell me a tale of the airly days--
Of the times as they ust to be;
'Piller of Fi-er' and 'Shakespeare's Plays'
Is a' most too deep fer me!
I want plane facts, and I want plane words,
Of the good old-fashioned ways,
When speech run free as the songs of birds
'Way back in the airly days.

Tell me a tale of the timber-lands--
Of the old-time pioneers;
Somepin' a pore man understands
With his feelins's well as ears.
Tell of the old log house,--about
The loft, and the puncheon flore--
The old fi-er-place, with the crane swung out,
And the latch-string thrugh the door.

Tell of the things jest as they was--
They don't need no excuse!--
Don't tech 'em up like the poets does,
Tel theyr all too fine fer use!--
Say they was 'leven in the fambily--
Two beds, and the chist, below,
And the trundle-beds that each helt three,
And the clock and the old bureau.

Then blow the horn at the old back-door
Tel the echoes all halloo,
And the childern gethers home onc't more,
Jest as they ust to do:
Blow fer Pap tel he hears and comes,
With Tomps and Elias, too,
A-marchin' home, with the fife and drums
And the old Red White and Blue!

Blow and blow tel the sound draps low
As the moan of the whipperwill,
And wake up Mother, and Ruth and Jo,
All sleepin' at Bethel Hill:
Blow and call tel the faces all
Shine out in the back-log's blaze,
And the shadders dance on the old hewed wall
As they did in the airly days.

Hope you have plenty of tales to share, and are weaving your way through the maze of today's issues. Keep good heart and treasure the things we do have. I look forward to your favorite stories in the comments below.

Lots to learn and ponder here, as always.
Better than the Sunday newspaper -- add free.

Stumbled across some Le Guin this am.

A vast, dense argument in a minimum of words, this poem lays out the Taoist values in steeply descending order: the Way and its power; goodness (humane feeling); righteousness (morality); and — a very distant last — obedience (law and order). The word I render as “opinion” can be read as “knowing too soon”: the mind obeying orders, judging before the evidence is in, closed to fruitful perception and learning.

and this...

The shift from denial of injustice to recognition of injustice can’t be unmade. What your eyes have seen they have seen. Once you see the injustice, you can never again in good faith deny the oppression and defend the oppressor. What was loyalty is now betrayal. From now on, if you don’t resist, you collude. But there is a middle ground between defense and attack, a ground of flexible resistance, a space opened for change. It is not an easy place to find or live in.

To me the important thing is not to offer any specific hope of betterment but, by offering an imagined but persuasive alternative reality, to dislodge my mind, and so the reader’s mind, from the lazy, timorous habit of thinking that the way we live now is the only way people can live. It is that inertia that allows the institutions of injustice to continue unquestioned.

[on Facebook/Twitter suppression of link to NY Post Biden article] I'm not sure this is any different than the way they ignored the content of the $hill and Podesta emails.

It's not censorship as long as one can easily find and read whatever some sector of TPTB doesn't want others to see. Those that rely on being spoonfed news/views by social media postings are lazy and thoughtless. OTOH, the Facebook/Twitter suppression of the NY Post article may have increased the number of views of the article.

btw -- Vietnam has done a excellent job in containing the SARS-CoV2 using standard public health measures, but in June or July began experiencing some deaths which now stands at 35. Very good in a country with almost ninety-eight million people.

I didn't realize the clip was that old. Max mentions in his show that the Vietnamese suffer the least obesity of any country. He interviews a fellow in Thailand which has done well. Not to mention Taiwan which handled probably better than any country..

All these countries had a dry run with SARS-Cov-1.

I was thinking suppression is a way to censor info.

Those that rely on being spoonfed news/views by social media postings are lazy and thoughtless.

Thankfully, I've never been tempted to use either platform, but I'm an old fart.

Thanks for a great ww. Much to digest. So, iodine. The Japanese gargle with it apparently. There are a couple of studies on gargling. One you posted. I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of iodine to use. I think the Japanese use Betadine. Have any info in this?

@magiamma

I use iodine tincture (2%) dissolved in water for both a gargle and nasal spray at a .5% solution.
Effective against bacteria and virus. Apparently Betadine (Povidone-Iodine) is more stable in an aqueous solution. 9.5 ml H2O : .5 ml PVP-I @ 10% = .5% solution. Also used by the Brits in dental procedures for both the patient and clinician.

The key difference between them is, Iodine is naturally available in sea water and in the earth crust whereas povidone iodine is a man- made product that contains iodine.

@QMS thanks I've been wanting to say that out loud for a while now... some other essay talked about gargling in the comments, maybe last week's Watch? Time does not exist.

I was gargling with salt water on the regular before pandemic too. I've been doing it all my life so thought the idea came from my dad, who did it in the WW2 Navy. It was helping me since the bigly smoke days started up a few years ago too. Good stuff. Also, my mantra during flu season was "don't touch your face" over and over. Now year 'round. I wash my hands a lot too, thank goodness for dirt.

Another mouth wash was recommended to me when my tooth got funky was Sage infusion made with 1 TBSP dried herb per 8 ounces boiling water. Steep for half an hour. Don't drink it, spit it out. I guess it has good anti-bacterial properties too, that and the garlic caps I took whew! Thanks. My neighbor buys the sage online somewhere, she can't grow everything. Yet. heh

...I only learned about recently. Simple prevention never mentioned. I've got tons of sage. PM me if you would like me to mail you some.

Yellow root grows along the stream banks all around. Time to dig some for winter use. I make a tea to drink anytime I start to get a sore throat (as well as salt water gargle...to which I will now add some iodine).

I'm lucky to not take any prescription medicine, but I take lots of things. 2 Tsp apple cider vinegar AM and PM which I dilute with water and flavor with lemon juice. I make a magnesium drink - 30 mL milk of magnesia to 2L seltzer water (to make readily absorbable magnesium bicarbonate.) drink 6 oz daily. Then there's Vit D. That's the extent of my medicines.

Hope your collar bone is well healed now and you are feeling good!

Thank You for what you do. I think I like your sig the best of all sigs I have seen around here. Every time I ask myself when this "Until" in it will finally come. Wink

I have nothing more to say than Thank You.

I hope you live a long life and go on doing what you are doing til that "Until" has come.

Cheers

@mimi

But DKMich (where has she gone? Italy maybe?) told me it came from the book of Amos.

When I was working on Education reform in Alabama I spent lots of time 3.5 hours down the road in Montgomery. I passed by this monument regularly...

Maya Lin, creator of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, was commissioned to design the Civil Rights Memorial at the Southern Poverty Law Center. Lin found her inspiration in the words “until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream,” a paraphrase from the Book of Amos that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. used in his “I Have a Dream” speech and at the start of the Montgomery bus boycott.

Hope all is well in your world. Thanks for coming by!

@Lookout
there is hope... I just read through Telesur that Mr. Trampeltier said that he might leave the US if Biden wins. Ha. I wonder who wants to have him.
Trump Says He May Leave the US If Biden Wins

Oh, I hope I can have more hope in the future than I have right now.

We just filled it out on line, but I wonder how many folks never got one and didn't know to go on line. You know it will be error filled (on purpose).

Several good lines. I liked "pull your head out of your ass and wear a mask".

Thanks!

Thanks for this and all of the prior 199.

I wasn't aware of the judges order regarding Seth Richards' parents' lawsuit, but I love it. It is, of course, a judicially assisted karmic variant of the Streisand effect. Sadly, it does put Assange in a bind. He correctly refuses to name his sources, though arguably it would be perhaps proper in this instance. One wonders how the so-called security/intel agencies will try to quash this, and, of course, the Dems. One must hope that they do not kill him.

be well and have a good one.

is a story for our times. I'm just so sorry Julian is suffering so much because of our imperial reach. Says a lot about current culture...and volumes about honest journalism.

Thanks for the visit. Hope all is well on the left coast and you and yours are happy and healthy!

Great long form discussion about Julian with John Pilger, Roger Waters, and Ray McGovern

Been a busy day for me, so just getting here.

Congratulations on the Two Hundredth (Wow!) Weekly Watch. I know a lot of work and many hours have gone into every one of them. All of us here at C99 appreciate it. The WW is one of the things that makes C99 a special place and I always look forward to reading it.

Thanks again, Lookout!

Wow did not realize I have read 200 Weekly Watches.

Covid sure has pulled back the curtain on Medical censorship and exposed the ongoing practices developed to control medical professionals and information. The current level of censorship is similar the cancer in the 60's and 70's and herb prior to the 1994 Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act. Not seen criminal prosecutions yet, only reputations destroyed and economic consequences for those on the wrong side of the official point of view at this moment.

...if we would only try to learn from it. One huge one to me is the blatant disconnect of the economy and the stock market.

Remember the story about the doctor who suggested washing hands after dissecting cadavers and before delivering babies? He was ostracized too. Guess it is nothing new really.

Hope all is well on your farm and the fires didn't impact your operation!
All the best...

for the Riley poem put to music. It might have been the first time I felt myself shaking to ‘hillbilly’ music ; ). Thank you even more for the subjects you address and the cornucopia of garden and other ideas in your weekly watch.

The plan this weekend is to make some Ollas, thanks to your recommendation. I am looking forward to this very much.

Best of luck with the ollas ... I'm unsure why they are not more common.

Noticed your President(?) was re-elected by a landslide.

Have a great week!

of WW. Wow.
I am generally days late to your Sunday roundup but I always find so much of interest when I finally do stop by. Over the years I have spent many hours reading what you have posted and watching what you have recommended. Thank you so much for all of your work, this place has become a part of my life.

I arrived on this lifeboat in March of 2016. It is nice to have a place to ponder the planetary plight in an evidence based manner.

Hope you and yours are doing well!
