Regrettably, the strip between me and Bunny is the barest part of my yard. I had some foundation work done, and this was supposed to be quality top soil, and I planted what was supposed to be top quality Bermuda grass seeds.
Bunny doesn't give a shit that it sucks.
I can't get a still photo unless the stars properly align in the heavens. The video is 22 seconds, and the Bunny was about 12 feet from me.
We should all take photos of our lovely yards if we are fortunate to have them.

that I could catch up with you this evening--wanted to thank you for your kind reply at Smiley's OT (a few weeks ago, but, just read it when I logged in today).
It is good to be back, and, as always, wonderful to see you.
I often use a double VPN, which is routed thru NZ, so, get quite a bit of your local news, when I go to a news feed. Glad to hear that you Guys have a cool Prime Minister (if that's what Ardern is called). Good news that COVID is under control, there. Obviously, think of you every time I see a story from NZ.
Just 'Google'd to see if you Guys celebrate Labor Day. Guess you celebrate it on the 4th Monday in October, so, I'll just wish you a nice weekend.
Take good care of yourself, and stay safe!

To be honest, I'm not much of a whiz (major understatement) when it comes to complicated Administrative computer duties, but, from what I just read, the app makes disc recovery look pretty simple. So, if it happens again, and, if I have anything but the dreaded blue screen, I'll give it a shot. Always eager to learn new skills.
Also, appreciate your kinds words, and well wishes. It's definitely a mess trying to get out of here during a pandemic. BTW, if I'm not mistaken, we would not be able to travel to France, either, right now. (appears that most, if not all of Europe is closed to Americans)
What's really surprised me is that Uruguay changed their travel criteria to block US citizens, since, for the most part, Latin America is a bit more lax than Europe. (They have COVID quite well under control, so, guess I can see 'why' they would restrict travel to their country.)
At one time, we were considering relocating (at least, temporarily) to our old stomping grounds--Cholulu, Puebla, Mexico, where La Universidad de las Americas is located--but, with the danger due to drug cartels(not in the state of Puebla, but, in others) and with COVID more or less more out-of-control there, than here--guess we'll take a pass.
Anyhoo, every day I'm working on gathering info on locales, so that we can move forward if/when this pandemic finally passes. Initially, we will have to come back to US somewhat frequently, so, holding off on trying to make a trans-Atlantic move (temporarily). Having said that, every thing is on the table--long term. So, much appreciate your offer to give us advice and info regarding French citizenship. It's always one of the highest ranking countries in any ranking I've run across (for retirement/expatriation). You Guys are very fortunate and smart to have made the move you did. Sounds as though you're very happy with your decision--just as VTCC73 and his family are in Ecuador.

This lost Least Grebe has been on this little pondlet 2 months now, and I finally got a wee bit better of a pic.
Hummingbird migration is in full swing. I have besides a few dozen Ruby-throated, a few Black-chinned, four Rufous, and there were two Calliope of which this is a pic of one. They are America's smallest bird at 3.25", and look smaller than that. Bill is short as the head, wings longer than tail, pale peachy color on sides are ID characters. The boldly spotted throat indicate immature male. They have a nice soft squeak call note.
This is a one-year old (immature or sub-adult) Zone-tailed Hawk.
This is a Violet Dancer - a damselfly, the little cousins of dragonflies.
Be well all! Play it safe!

We have so many Bumble Bees of different varieties. This type has a bronze forehead.
We are letting our lower yard go to meadow with hopefully properly timed mowing. We have wildflowers which pop up in no time. Many small Butterflies. Looked at antennae all Summer, and they are indeed Butterflies. This is one of the larger ones. If anyone can ID, it would be so helpful. Great Britain shares many of the same flora and fauna.
Now that I'm getting a hang of the process: one more. We see many Damsel Flies. This one looks like a green Bamboo.

Thought I'd try a photo.
A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit. Allegedly Greek, but more possibly fairly modern quote.
