of government this November. A very good chance.

I was reading a CNN article gushing about what that might mean. There is recent history, during Obama's term, when this was the case. What did we get out of it? A huge insurance company boondoggle and continued threats to destroy Social Security.

Things like this just further show one thing: Democrats aren't on our side. And anyone who works within the party to boost it, especially in the hopes of turning it around, ought to think real hard about what they actually stand for. Is it more power for the sake of having it, and all the corrupt benefits it comes with, or is it to serve one's fellow peers in the nation?

That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --

Post Office sabotage by Trump leaving the US Mail Service in ruins? Ho-hum. Vacation time for Congress.

Unemployment Insurance payments ended? Still millions without work? "Sorry, America. We are all going home or to our vacation places," say the Congress.

Trump's Executive orders signed? What! You believed he would fill any of them? Well. No, he won't. And the latest, "I've directed Steve Mnuchin to prepare a check for $3,400 to every four person family?" Hah. No chance. The President is golfing.

The foreclosures and rent evictions have barely begun. No cavalry is coming. The ongoing destruction may be more than any of us can picture.

@QMS is but a symptom. We are looking in the mirror. This is who we are. Not individually, maybe, but it is what this country is. Ugly AF but a true reflection. It's time to be honest with ourselves. We watched it happen and did nothing. Some would argue, not without good reason, that there was nothing we could do. That's how divided we are as a people and why we are kept so divided. I would argue that it is also why we need to get over the squabbles, petty and not so petty, and start trying to find common ground with those we don't want to talk to much less work with. Divided we're powerless.

The alternative is to keep digging until there's an undeniable bottom. (How much further can bedrock be?) That's part of why I favor refusing to enable the Dems. They're complicit in all of the damage done, being done, going to be done, but won't stop any of it if they can profit from it. When someone shows us with their actions they are our enemy there's no reason to argue or doubt them. The only way to stop an abusive relationship is with a total split. The damage they cause afterwards is all on them.

Apparently no matter what happens in this glorious 3rd world shit hole country it is Putin's fault because he put Trump in office and the GOP is on HIS payroll. After all a whole 8 people spent the 4th of July in Moscow to get their marching orders. Never mind that tons more people from both parties are required to go to Israel to get their marching orders.

Did Putin tell Pelosi to stop negotiating for a people's bailout? Did he tell Schumer to send senate democrats home? I guess Russia had the DNC rig the last 2 primaries against Bernie so some Republican lite democrat could win it? I am sure there is a paper trail of the phone call Putin made to Obama to make sure that he stepped in to stop Bernie if he looked like he was going to win which is just what happened. Clinton thank Clyburn for interfering on Super Tuesday during his speech at Lewis' funeral. Oh yes he is on record doing that.

Now if democrats don't take back control of congress after all the bad things Trump and the GOP have done it will be because they didn't work hard enough to make our lives better. Right?

And all of that happened because people were upset at the slow rate of change in Obama’s first year in office.
....
Sure, liberals are our own worst enemies, and voting performance remains a challenge. We followed up President Barack Obama’s historic 2008 victory with electoral apathy, which led to the GOP wave of 2010, which led to the Republican takeover of the U.S. House and key battlegrounds like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

We can let that happen again. That’s our worst-case scenario—that progressive apathy in 2022 give this Republican Party new life.

Yep we got mad when democrats spent their first 2 year on the ACA and bailing out the banks and then spent 6 years hiding republican obstruction for not being able to do more.
Once again the blame for democrats losing is placed on the progressives in the party. But when democrats keep taking dumps on the things that we are screaming for why in the blue blazes would anyone reward them with their vote? Over 80% of Americans from both party want some type of universal health care, but democrats are saying no to that. Biden was asked months ago if MFA passed congress would he sign it? Nope he said. He was asked that again this week if congress passed it would he sign it. Nope again because universal health care didn't slow the spread of a pandemic in countries that have it. Well no shit Sherlock. That was what it's supposed to do. It is to pay people medical bills if they catch it. But of course Biden knows that, but since Obama rolled out the ACA that has left 20-30 million people without access to it the centrists have now decided that single payer health care here is a 'progressive' pipe dream and those folks need to wake the hell up and just be happy if they can pay abhorrent prices for insurance that they can't use because their deductibles are so damn high they never meet them unless they are met with a serious illness or accident. Biden's plan for the public option is to give people access to Medicare. Well yippity do da. Access. We all have access to things we want. However many of don't have the money to buy them hence the problem with Biden's plan.

But then when democrats lose one house they can sign in relief of not having to actually do anything for we the people and continue making their donor's lives more comfortable.

Of course if Biden/Harris lose to Trump which is a good possibility they won't look at how decrepit their policies are. Of course not because they already know what they need to do to remain in power and stop the gutting of America's assets. They would have allowed fair elections during the primaries which might have seen Bernie win then wipe out Trump. But instead they will blame it on progressives and of course Russia, Russia.......... which the CIA psyop if pushing bigly and daily. And lots of people echo the statement.

....Trump delivered on the last of those, but he’s also surrendered to Russia while begging other despotic regimes to help him win reelection.

George W Bush received a standing O at Lewis' funeral for some reason. He has been welcomed into the loving arms of the resistance because he said something mean about Trump and all of his history has now been whitewashed into oblivion. As have so many other murderous cretins in the GOP:

I never saw any evidence that George W. Bush personally has a racist or misogynist bone in his body.

Well accept for:
..................................................................................................................................................................................... and .....................................................................................

Yep this is a rant. Preaching to the choir here of course. I just can't understand why so many are blind to the truth? We were excluded for seeing it as were many others who saw the democrats for what they not only are, but have been since the Clintons sold out the party to the Koch brothers, the banks and insurance and pharmaceutical industries and the military and intelligence complexes. How can they not see it? Where is the outrage that Pelosi doesn't have the house doing everything in its power to stop what is happening at the post office? But the GOP won't help them. BS! The house has the power of the purse and 1/3 of the government. They ain't helpless, but they have deluded lots of others into thinking they are.

@snoopydawg When Kamala talks about jailing parents of truant kids the look of glee on her face says it all, IMHO. Just another power hungry sociopath. Loved it when Jimmy mentioned she'd had those "That girl was me" shirts made up and ready to go BEFORE the "debate" but sadly, most good liberals will just think that is wild ass RWNJ CT and move along. Dumbshits. If they win she will not have it easy though, with the country going down in flames. While I am so angry at what our owners are doing I could, and do, scream a lot, a part of me will love watching her try to "lead" a country as fucked as this one is. Careful what you wish for Kamala.....

As much as I loathe Trump and what he and his minions have been allowed to do by our owners, I for one will never pull the lever for Joe and Kamala, just not gonna happen. I will say to those who think that means I am voting for Trump that they are just proof that America is a dumbed down country who will cheer on its very own destruction while arguing over who is to blame, while those who are really responsible laugh all the way to their next gala. Go on ahead and blame me and others who won't toe the line, I welcome your scorn, Idiot American.

There are enough people who know what the truth is about this issue to give him shit for starting this silly spat against Bernie. Even the 3 democrats Obama wanted to appoint were pro privatization dudes, but most of them refuse to hear it. Then there’s a few who must remind people that Bernie’s not a democrat. Lol...bring popcorn.

All the actions to cope with the Covid-19 crisis, excepting the new shared-debt deal on the abstract budgetary level, have been taken by national governments. The bureaucracy in Brussels has contributed nada, zip, zilch.

The European Parliament hasn’t been heard from since last year’s Brexit talks and may as well not even exist.

The Five Stages of Collapse: Survivors' Toolkit
Via Bookfinder -- ISBN 9780865717367
From back cover: "Orlov was born in Leningrand and immigrated to the United States in the 1970s. He is the author of Reinventing Collapse."

He saw the collapse of the Soviet system, describes how ours will differ, and what can be done. It's apparent we are now in at least the middle of these stages. Strong writer like so many here.
