Taking the News ... on Buttigieg

No place to post this, but I do it anyway. I thought the first ten minutes of the video were just too good to be ignored.

Pete Buttigieg appeared on the national stage out of nowhere during the 2016 election for the DNC chair. Now we're being told he's a front-runner in their primary. This might surprise any normal voters but his deep connections with US intelligence might help explain his success. Lee delves into those ties and paints a picture of Buttigieg as more than just a political opportunist.

heard yet, in his usual entertaining rant format. Worth watching.

On edit: #CIAPete seems appropriate too.

Graduated from Harvard and went into Navy Intelligence. His support comes from the CIA, State Dept., and the Pentagon and billionaires. He is completely vacuous. A deep state hologram generated by a CIA written A.I. program. At least Obama could pretend to be a Progressive, this guy can barely pretend to be a human being. He can form sentences from words that seem to be important, but when you parse the sentences there is no content. His entire strategy was to slingshot off of the first two states. I don't see how he goes anywhere now, especially with "Mike" sharing the same pool of Republicrats. The contrast between he and Bernie is extreme, a serious, deep, principled, seasoned leader verses a featherweight opportunist.

Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.

Perfect description. His quotes have the same essence. They ARE words. They ARE sentences. But when your brain tries to associate them with a concrete concept all that comes back is an image of a big soap bubble bursting.

"Taking the News From ..." ????

Sorry, but I don't think I can just let it ride without voicing an objection, even though I despise Buttigieg on political grounds.

@Wally But it's definitely icky. Please change the title of the diary.

@Wally it's not about Buttigieg.
Lee Camp has that on all his news broadcasts on his Redacted Tonight program, here's one I quickly pulled up from last July https://www.facebook.com/LeeCampComedian/videos/2868836609798907/?v=2868...

Here's one from March 2018...https://www.opednews.com/articles/Lee-Camp-takes-the-news-f-by-Daniel-Ge...

I can keep going back further for more examples. I'm on a mailing list of Lee Camp and this phrase has been used for years, including in his live comedy shows.

@aliasalias

Linking it with PB just seemed problematic - and it wasn't in the Lee Camp video posted.

I see the subject title was changed. Thanks Mimi(?) for the discernment.

@Wally Taking something from behind means whatever it was it couldn't see it coming, like sneaking up on a prey. A surprise. Those are just guesses but it has been such a standard opening line for so many years before he breaks down the upcoming topics on the show that I don't notice it.

One other point I'd like to make is that if it was viewed as somehow related to a sex act then I'm certain Lee Camp would've caught so many complaints that the term would've been dropped years ago.

@aliasalias

I'm surprised if there was no blowback.

Just my opinion.

And never a good idea to pair it with a focus on Buttigieg.

I'm more concerned about what Bloomberg is doing, though.

@Wally speaking of him I just got a phone call, a poll asking me if I've decided whom I would vote for in the Democratic Primary, to which I answered Bernie Sanders several times as she read off the names.
Then she thanked me for my time and told me the poll was sponsored by Mike Bloomberg and I said 'screw Bloomberg, I'm glad you're getting paid,take the money, but to hell with that guy vote for Bernie Sande- the call ended before I finished saying his name and before I could tell her Bloomberg wouldn't know how she voted.

Maybe if hadn't hammered on Bloomberg as much I might have had enough time to get that ending across to her.
