Israeli airstrikes on Iraq changed everything

Billboards like this one which says, "The U.S. is responsible for the region's insecurity and instability," are appearing in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad in recent days.
Others say "Death to America — Death to Israel". At least one billboard is within sight of the U.S. embassy.
This is just the latest backlash from Israel's decision to bomb Iraq.

Netanyahu says the attacks are meant to show Israel will respond to Iranian threats via its proxy forces, from wherever they emanate... But Israeli observers say the country's leader, who faces possible indictment for bribery, fraud and breach of trust, also is counting on the attacks to draw attention away from his legal troubles.

An important bloc in Iraq's parliament has demanded the U.S. withdraw its forces from Iraq, and correctly blame the U.S. for being complicit in these strikes.

"While we reserve the right to respond to these Zionist attacks, we hold the international coalition, particularly the United States, fully responsible for this aggression which we consider a declaration of war on Iraq and its people," the statement by the Fatah Coalition said.

More importantly, the Iraqi government is looking at protecting itself from Israeli and U.S. air strikes, and there is only one way to do that: by purchasing either the S-300 or S-400 missile defense system from Russia.
Iraq considered the idea before, but because of Israel it's become a priority.

The immediate effect, however, is that both the general public and the elites of Middle East nations have raised the need to protect their skies more effectively... The State of Law parliamentary coalition said that the Americans had arranged the opening of Iraqi airspace to facilitate the Israeli attacks. They said that Iraq should “steer toward Russia and China in order to provide the international protection [for Iraq].”

and Israel ignored it and bombed an Iranian base which was right next to one of ours. Think we didn't know what they were going to do? How much longer until Israel bombs Iran itself and has the world come to its defense? Let's just isolate Israel instead and make the world a safer place.

@snoopydawg Israel has bombed Lebanon.

Let's just have every state in the middle east buy Russian S-400 anti-aircraft defense systems, it would be a lot easier and would solve the problem.

Russia prevents Israeli airstrikes in Syria

The controversy between Israel and Russia regarding airstrikes of Iranian targets in Syria and Iraq continues, despite the meeting Between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported on Friday by Independent Arabia.

According to the report, Moscow has prevented three Israeli air strikes on three Syrian outposts recently, and even threatened that any jets attempting such a thing would be shot down, either by Russian jets or by the S-400 anti-aircraft missiles. The source cited in the report claims a similar situation has happened twice – and that during August, Moscow stopped an air strike on a Syrian outpost in Qasioun, where a S-300 missile battery is placed.

Moreover, it was claimed that another air strike was planned for a week later on a Syrian outpost in the Qunaitra area and a third one on a sensitive area in Latakia. This development is what pushed Netanyahu to have his quick visit in Russia to try and convince Putin to ignore Israel's attacks in Syria. According to the Russian source, Putin let Netanyahu know that his country will not allow any damage to be done to the Syrian regime's army, or any of the weapons being given to it, because giving such a permission would be seen as giving Israel leniency – something that contradicts Russia's goal of assisting the Syrian regime.

The Russian source said: "Putin has expressed his dissatisfaction from Israel's latest actions in Lebanon," and even emphasized to Netanyahu that he "rejects the aggression towards Lebanon's sovereignty," something which had never been heard from him. Putin further stated that someone is cheating him in regards to Syria and Lebanon, and that he will not let it go without a response. According to him, Netanyahu was warned not to strike such targets in the future.

There are so many behind the scenes deals going on it's hard to keep track, but it would look bad for Putin if he went into Syria to protect Assad from us just to then let Israel bomb whatever the hell it wants. I wonder if they talked about Israel starting the war with Iran? "Don't do it, Bibi or I'll have to come to Iran's defense and you won't like that!"
