Is Kamala Harris channeling Lyndon LaRouche?

Edit/added second video of Harris supporters drowning out the Sunrise Movement protest. . .

Back in the day, Lyndon LaRouche aka Lynn Marcus, of the National Caucus of Labor Committees/U.S. Labor Party, ostensibly a Maoist group but perhaps funded and/or used by US intelligence forces, used to send his goons out to disrupt anti-war protests. Anybody remember them? LaRouche ran for president a few times and even got on national TV with half hour broadcasts. LaRouche died some years back and I've read the group is trying to comeback with a couple new gurus leading the way. But forget them. If you really want to walk down memory lane, though, you can always read Dennis King's Lyndon Larouche and the New American Fascism

But let's timetravel back to the present. I trust most folks know a little about the Sunrise Movement. They're mostly a bunch of young folks who are emphatic about protesting against global heating and climate catastrophe: https://www.sunrisemovement.org/

But the Kamala Harris people feel that the Sunrise Movement kids need to be protested against and drowned out. I looked at the video in the tweet above and it precipitated a flashback to my youth when I was disgusted by the fascist tactics of the LaRouchites. So this is what the Kamala Harris team is up to these days? And from reading the tweet commentary below the video, it seems Neera Harris Tanden and the CAP (Center for American Progress -- Centrist/Corporatist thinktank) were also somehow involved in organizing and staging the counter protests. Needs verificaton but doesn't seem to be out of the realm of probability. I mean, really, what the hell? These are the people criticizing Trump for being a fascist? What have we come to???

Of course, they also felt the need to disrupt Bernie's speech at the DNC meeting. May all deities forbid any discussion of climate change take place at any Democratic Party gathering!

I was gonna hold out on sending Bernie any more money (I've already pretty much maxed out my budget), but now that some Democrats are so obviously and blatantly embracing fascist tactics to stop him, I'm gonna dig deep down into my pockets again.

Somehow though, those protesters don't quite look quite as enthusiastic as Nazis did in those old newreels. More like zombies just doing what zombies do.

in Europe, in the form of tiny splinter parties. The one currently active in Germany is called Bürgerrechtsbewegung Solidarität (BüSo). Before that, there were Patrioten für Deutschland (Patriots for Germany) and the Europäische Arbeiter-Partei (EAP, European Workers Party).

for autobiographies since one of Oprah's book club authors got caught lying in his to make it and/or him more interesting. Anyway.... In describing his first efforts to make contacts on his own behalf (as opposed to for the benefit of his brother Jack's campaigns). He describes glad-handing at Massachusetts's textile mills, shoe factories, etc.

Massachusetts' thriving factories? It's as though I'm reading old, old, old, U.S. history, rather than reading about a man who was alive not so long ago.

These days, our exports stink, whether it's military weapons or neoliberal ideology delivered in person to the UK's Blair and to France, Italy, the Netherlands, et al. by the likes of Al From and Hillary Clinton, or pysops delivered in person La Rouche's widow.

(mimicking the voice of the computer in War Games): How about a nice pair of shoes?

bland neoliberal-consensus careerist. But she is a true Swamp Creature in the Clintonite mo(u)ld. Strange things afoot at Planned Parenthood -- ex-pres Cecile Richards' daughter Lily Adams is Kammy's communications director, and last month Richards' replacement at PP was unceremoniously fired and smeared by the organization for not being political enough. The new Planned Parenthood head, Alexis McGill Johnson, is a Harris superfan. Coincidence? Will PP once again break their longstanding protocol of not endorsing in primaries, like they did in 2016?

I didn't leave to my kids, to Planned Parenthood's political arm.

Then they endorsed HRC over Sanders, despite Sanders having a much better historical record of standing up for PP's constituency. The perfect instance of form rather than function, they chose the candidate with ovaries rather than the one whose principles coincide with their mission: As if there weren't at least 50 million women in this country violently opposed to women's reproductive freedom. I was outraged.

Now they can choke on their self-destructive IdPol. "You get nothing. You lose. Good day, ma'am."

policy of staying out of primaries to endorse her. PP and the union leaders who claimed their workers had voted to endorse her while their workers were asking "What vote?" are dead to me.

Meanwhile, Hillary who couldn't bring herself to condone equal marriage until the Supreme Court of the United State was about to do so and who put a constitutional amendment to overrule Roe v. Wade on the table got the support of both lobbyists for gays and PP, while they lashed out incredibly unfairly at Sanders.

Go figure.

(For all purposes of this post, it is irrelevant whether Sanders was a saint or sheep dog in 2016. IMO, he was neither, but that is beside the point.)

I used to think Kamala was another bland neoliberal-consensus careerist. But she is a true Swamp Creature in the Clintonite mo(u)ld.

Alligator Ed, a swamp creature himself, might take exception to being likened to Kamala Harris....

I don't agree, but I can think of reasons--You hate Greens, you hate Sanders, you don't want to frighten your big donors. Not a pretty picture, but I can think of reasons.

Shouting down climate demonstrators, however, is in a whole other universe. I cannot think of a single reason why a decent human being would do that. And that's even before we get to the Constitutional issues.

Are we certain that the shouters were indeed Kamala's staffers?

. . . not long ago when they started their It's time for a woman in the White House chant when Bernie was walking the picket line with some McDonald's workers demanding $15 an hour wages. There was a video of that, too. Difficult to do much of anything these days in a public place without it being video recorded. The Kamala Harris t-shirts in the video also sorta appear to be a dead giveaway as to who is chanting what. Hey and I think I may have spotted a chair being thrown in one of those videos by somebody in one of those t-shirts. . . wink, wink.

It seems that the Harris folks are now making a PR effort to claim that they weren't trying to steal the show from the Sunrise Movement kids or counterdemonstrate against them or even staging a walkout when Bernie started his speech. The videos show what the videos show and frankly I'm gonna believe John Graziano over any PR people for Kamala. As far as I'm concerned if the Kamala people were really concerned about climate catastrophe, they should have joined the protesters just like Bernie and his folks joined the McDonald's protesters.

It's getting wild. . .
update: the discussion ended, and now some DNC folks are counting the votes somewhere off the floor
another update: endless speeches as endless as the wars they've pushed on us . . . some folks are suggesting they don't have the votes to overturn Resolution 4 which will allow for a multicandidate climate change debate (still confusing but a NO vote will be a victory for the debate)

that is, all or nearly all of the Bernie types will have voted yes and all or nearly all of the Harris types will have voted no. I use those two as examples. I expect it'll break out nearly unanimously one way or the other for all other supporters of candidates.

If it wouldn't have been Perez, it would have been someone exactly like him doing exactly the same things. And should things go south, Perez will be thrown under the bus without the slightest bit of hesitation or remorse. His replacement will be a clone.

When I look at Perez, I see Obama.

. . . their backs are still getting pressed against the wall. The 137 delegates who voted to push the climate change idea forward are pissed by Perez's show of manipulative bureacratic power.

And the Sunrise Movement's kids' response at the meeting:

Gee, I wonder who the critical mass of these young shakers and movers is going to be supporting in the the primaries?

But what can we do? Support the heroic effords of the kids as best we can! Remember how we used to complain about our parents' generation? Something's happening but you don't know what it is Mr. Jones?

Keep on pushing from a position within and keep growing an organized critical mass! Otherwise, one can opt for political suicide /not actual suicide/ For my two cents, Camus's array of existential options missed a few beats:

goes outside the DNC boundaries. Hold a climate debate? Get barred from all Dem-sponsored debates!

In fact the whole primary season is designed to weed out the people we might like.

Here's a biased CNN article:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/24/politics/democrats-2020-debate-climate-dn...

Supporters of the DNC decision to not allow single-issue debates voiced strong concern that special interest groups for issues the Party supports like veterans, race, and poverty would feel slighted if their issues were excluded from sanctioned debates. And officials at the DNC have so far held firm in their decision, expressing concern that changing the rules now so long after the presidential race began would be unfair to the candidates.

What amuses me the most (and I mean that with all bitterness) is this "so long after the presidential race began". It's August 2019, for god's sake. There's also mention in this article about the unruliness of the Sunrise Movement. I couldn't find any similar mention on CNN about the unruliness of the Harris people when Bernie was speaking.

In other words, is there someplace on Earth where we can go where we can escape this? Somewhere that won't be affected?
