Jeffrey Epstein arrested...finally

This is long overdue, but maybe the women who were sexually abused by Epstein and many men and women will finally see some justice. Epstein was arrested in 2006 and after making a plea deal with federal prosecutors he was sentenced to 18 months in a sweetheart deal and only served 13 months. He was also allowed to leave prison 6 days a week to go to work. How did he manage such a deal? He gave up two Bear Stearns executives.

Jeffrey Epstein arrested on sex trafficking charges

The girls who were abused by Jeffrey Epstein and the cops who championed their cause remain angry over what they regard as a gross injustice, while Epstein's employees and those who engineered his non-prosecution agreement have prospered. By
More than a decade after receiving one of the most lenient sentences for a serial sex offender in U.S history, multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested outside of New York, sources confirmed to the Miami Herald Saturday night.

Epstein was arrested at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, according to one of the sources. Flight records show he had just flown to Teterboro from Paris on Saturday.

Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, about a dozen federal agents broke down the door to Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse to execute search warrants, witnesses and sources said.

“We heard the loud banging and we walked over and saw all these FBI agents just pounding down the door,” a witness told the Herald.

Epstein, 66, is expected to be arraigned in federal court in New York on Monday on charges that he molested dozens of underage girls in New York and in Florida, the sources said. His arrest, first reported by the Daily Beast, comes nearly two weeks after the Justice Department announced that it would not throw out his 2008 non-prosecution agreement, even though a federal judge ruled it was illegal.

Rumors had been circulating for months that Epstein was under investigation on sex charges in the Southern District of New York. It’s not clear what instances those investigations involved, and the Herald had not been able to confirm the status of the New York probe.

Sources said he was arrested by the FBI pursuant to a sealed indictment that will be unsealed on Monday. He is in custody in New York and a bail hearing is set for Monday.

That bail hearing will be critical because if they grant him bail, he has enough money that he will disappear and they will never get him,’’ a source in New York told the Herald.

Last November, the Miami Herald published a series of stories, titled Perversion of Justice, that described the ways in which the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Alexander Acosta, worked in conjunction with Epstein’s lawyers to engineer the non-prosecution agreement — and keep it secret from Epstein’s victims, so they could not object. Acosta is now President Donald Trump’s secretary of labor.

Sources told the Herald that the indictment includes new victims and witnesses who spoke to authorities in New York over the past several months.

A Miami Herald investigation into Palm Beach hedge fund manager Jeffrey Epstein's sexual pyramid scheme targeting underage girls– and why he's a free man today.

I read the Miami Herald story when it came out and was appalled by the deal that the federal lawyers made with Epstein's attorneys. It looked like his attorneys were in charge of the deal not the federal prosecutors. If the rumors were true and people like Bill and Hillary Clinton were involved with him then I can understand why he got such a sweet deal. The Miami Herald wrote that Bill would ditch his secret service and fly to Epstein's island where there would be sex parties. Prince Andrew was said to have been involved with Epstein as well as Donald Trump and other people in government and lots of other well known people.

From the link to the article about the Bear Stearns executives:

Emails also show then-Miami US Attorney Alexander Acosta — who is now President Trump’s secretary of labor — and the lead prosecutor in the case agreeing to help Epstein’s high-powered defense lawyers try to contain the scandal sparked by his 2006 arrest in Palm Beach, according to the Herald.

“On an ‘avoid the press’ note…I can file the charge in district court in Miami which will hopefully cut the press coverage significantly. Do you want to check that out?” Assistant US Attorney Marie Villafana wrote in September 2007 to defense lawyer Jay Lefkowitz, a former colleague of Acosta’s at the Kirkland & Ellis law firm.

Once the pact was struck, Epstein — who’s hosted former President Bill Clinton, British Prince Andrew and others at his own private Caribbean Island — pleaded guilty to two felony prostitution charges in state court, even though the feds identified 36 underage girls who accused Epstein, then a powerful pal of Clinton and Prince Andrew, of sexually abusing them in his Palm Beach mansion between 2001 and 2005, the Herald said.

Although he said he couldn’t “discuss the details of the case,” Acosta said the decision not to file federal charges “was a broadly held decision” in his office.

“As part of any plea, it is not unusual to have an indictment that says these are all the places we can go, yet at the end of the day, based on the evidence, professionals within a prosecutor’s office decide that a plea that guarantees that someone goes to jail, that guarantees that someone register [as a sex offender] generally, and that guarantees other outcomes is a good thing,” he said.

Why did the US attorney go out of her way to keep the press from finding out about the plea deal? Could it have been because she was protecting someone important? I believe that was exactly why she did that.

Statutory rape usually comes with years long sentences not months long with the stipulation that people are free to leave prison so they could go to work or anywhere else. One Sunday a cop saw Epstein outside the prison and asked him where he was going. "Just for a walk."

Let's hope that the other people who were involved with this horrible saga are also brought to justice. This includes the woman who targeted the girls and everyone else who went to Epstein's parties no matter who they are.

This was before he became president I think. I'm ignoring people who are making this all about Trump . Hopefully there are a lot of people sweating tonight and tomorrow when the indictment is read.

@snoopydawg quote.

What is your intent here? To smear Trump just because he made a favorable comment? Or just to indifferently provide a quote?

Actually, I am more interested in finding out if Trump observed Ep in action like you said. You haven't responded with anything; I'll keep poking around.

@snoopydawg a while now on Google, and I see nothing that says Trump observed an assault by Ep at Trump's hotel in Florida.

But supposedly, Trump did say this: "During the 2016 election Trump alleged Bill Clinton’s might have a strong connection to Epstein, Clinton is reported to have traveled on Epstein’s plane dozens of times. Referring to Clinton, Trump stated, “Nice guy — uh, got a lot of problems coming up, in my opinion, with the famous island, with Jeffrey Epstein. A lot of problems.”"

In 2016.

There are plenty of articles linking Trump to Ep.

that would go something like this:
"Jeff, my man, can't do that here. You got that island. I have been there. Do that young girl thing there or I get mixed up with the cops, ya know? Banned. No, no cops involved. Let's keep it civil, my man.
My pal Bill Clinton and I love, love your island!
See ya soon. We will all have a blast!

@on the cusp For all my dislike of the Orange Man, he never went to Orgy Island on the Lolita Express, which of course doesn't rule out other avenues of arrival. But do you have any proof the El Trumpo visited Epstein's island "paradise"? HRC went to Orgy Island at least 6 times on the Lolita Express--maybe she likes young girls too.

I am convinced that a group of neocon, neoliberal, globalist elites are dead set on removing anyone whom they see as an obstacle to the advancement of their totalitarian global agenda, and so far it is quite evident that they perceive Trump, Tulsi, Julian Assange and (pretty much) Bernie, as such obstacles. They choose to do their dirty work through perception management via innuendo, lies, and smears, and for this I find them entirely contemptible. I hope some day they'll come out and tell us precisely what their vision is, what they're actually trying to achieve. I wish they could be more forthright and honest.

I have been wondering why was Epstein finally arrested for sex trafficking. Was it because the trial records were unsealed recently by the judge or is there and alternative motive?

During the first time he was being charged he made a plea deal if he gave up the two Bear Stearns executives, but it looks like the rest of the people involved with him got immunity. If they got immunity then is it still in effect? And if so, then I am back to my first question. Why NOW?

In an interesting twist, the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan has put its public corruption unit in charge of the Epstein case - not, as might be expected, its human-trafficking team (although the latter unit is being consulted reportedly). It's likely, at least in part, that the case is being handled by corruption prosecutors because of a controversial and lenient plea deal struck between Epstein and federal law enforcement officials in Florida back in 2008. The financier was being investigated at the time for having sex with underage girls - many of them orphans or runaways - at his Palm Beach mansion.

The Justice Department said in February that it planned to investigate "allegations that Department attorneys may have committed professional misconduct in the manner in which the Epstein criminal matter was resolved" in Florida. Later that month, a federal judge ruled that the same group of attorneys broke the law by not telling Epstein's victims that the plea deal existed. The Miami-based prosecutors had prepared a 53-page federal indictment against Epstein, but his deal allowed him to plead guilty only to a state charge of soliciting a minor for prostitution. He served 13 months in a Palm Beach prison that allowed him to leave six days a week to work. The deal also granted immunity to any of Epstein's potential co-conspirators, who otherwise might have been swept up in his abuses.

@snoopydawg
I can think of three reasons:

* Epstein himself has become a problem and they need to smack him down. I haven't seen anything that would indicate this.

* Someone who could be implicated in Epstein's crimes has become a problem and is in need of a smack down.

* Evidence has surfaced as part of some other investigation (possibly of associates) that mean prosecutors think they can now get a conviction. This theory has the advantage of not involving a prosecutorial conspiracy.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

The idea that I'm going to have to cruise around and remind people about Bill Jeff's Lolita Express lifetime pass is not sitting well with me. I'm not into that, but when I see specious shit on the Social Media, I can't quite let it go - getting better, but not quite there yet.

Another motive could be to muddy the water so bad so as to make it a tribal he said/she said where we can all comfortably ignore reality - you know, just like the rest of our public policy, economic, and global affairs news.

Projection has been the tool of the Oligarchy for a VERY long time. You can see it in the Bircher CT stuff from the 60s - the commies are going to capture economics and enslave you all - when in reality it was a Fascist / Paperclip movement doing exactly the same under the anti-commie banner. Amazing stuff.

You can see it with the Gay Army that the Religious Right was fighting - gays are going to make everyone gay, because christians make everyone Christian. Classic projection.

GWoT? Heh. Terrorism and the march to global preeminence and hegemony is itself projection.

Over and over we fall prey to this psycho-rhetorical device. It's almost as if it's PSYOPs or something.

@laurel that was alluded to above. There are undoubtedly many on this board who know there is a larger, and even darker backstory behind the current sex scandal. Like several previous flareups over the years, this too will likely cool off and go back into smouldering embers that the world's most powerful intelligence services and mainstream corporate media have been trying to extinguish for decades.

Here's the bigger story that looms above the smokey column of multinational blackmail, coverup and kompromat operations. Let's go back to the events that led up to the 1991 death of Robert Maxwell, Ghislaine Maxwell's father:

British Publisher Robert Maxwell
Was Mossad Spy
By Gordon Thomas And Martin Dillon
The Mirror - UK
12-6-2002
[ . . .]
Eleven years after former Daily Mirror owner Robert Maxwell plunged from his luxury yacht to a watery grave, his death still arouses intense interest.

Many different theories have circulated about what really happened on board the Lady Ghislaine that night in May 1991.

[ . . . ]

The Jewish millionaire and former Labour MP [born Ludvik Hoch
in Czechoslovakia] died the way he had lived - threatening.

He had threatened his wife. Threatened his children. Threatened the staff of this newspaper.

But finally he issued one threat too many - he threatened Mossad.

He told them that unless they gave him £400million to save his crumbling empire, he would expose all he had done for them.

In that time, he had free access to Margaret Thatcher's Downing Street, to Ronald Reagan's White House, to the Kremlin and to the corridors of power throughout Europe.

On top of that he had built himself a position of power within the crime families of eastern Europe, teaching them how to funnel their vast wealth from drugs, arms smuggling and prostitution to banks in safe havens around the globe.

Maxwell passed on all the secrets he learned to Mossad in Tel Aviv. In turn, they tolerated his excesses, vanities and insatiable appetite for a luxurious lifestyle and women.

He told his controllers who they should target and how they should do it. He appointed himself as Israel's unofficial ambassador to the Soviet Bloc. Mossad saw the advantage in that.

[ . . . ]

The more successful Maxwell became the more risks he took and the more dangerous he was to Mossad. At the same time, the very public side of Maxwell, who then owned 400 companies, began to unwind.

He spent lavishly and lost money on deals. The more he lost, the more he tried to claw money from the banks. Then he saw a way out of his problems.

He was approached by Vladimir Kryuchkov, head of the KGB. Spymaster and tycoon met in the utmost secrecy in the Kremlin.

Kryuchkov had an extraordinary proposal. He wanted Maxwell to help orchestrate the overthrow of Mikhail Gorbachev, the reformist Soviet leader. That would bring to an end a fledgling democracy and a return to the Cold War days.

In return, Maxwell's massive debts would be wiped out by a grateful Kryuchkov, who planned to replace Gorbachev. The KGB chief wanted Maxwell to use the Lady Ghislaine, named after Maxwell's daughter, as a meeting place between the Russian plotters, Mossad chiefs and Israel's top politicians.

The plan was for the Israelis to go to Washington and say that democracy could not work in Russia and that it was better to allow the country to return to a modified form of communism, which America could help to control. In return, Kryuchkov would guarantee to free hundreds of thousands of Jews and dissidents in the Soviet republics.

Kryuchkov told Maxwell that he would be seen as a saviour of all those Jews. It was a proposal he could not refuse. But when he put it to his Mossad controllers they were horrified. They said Israel would have no part in such a madcap plan.

For the first time, Maxwell had failed to get his own way. He started to threaten and bluster. He then demanded that, for past services, he should receive immediately a quick fix of £400million to bale him out of his financial difficulties.

Instead of providing the money, a small group of Mossad officers set about planning his murder. They feared that he was going to publicly expose all Mossad had done in the time he worked for them. They knew that he was gradually becoming mentally unstable and paranoid. He was taking a cocktail of drugs - Halcion and Zanax - which had serious side effects.

The group of Mossad plotters sensed, like Solomon, he could bring their temple tumbling down and cause incalculable harm to Israel. The plan to kill him was prepared in the utmost secrecy. A four-man squad was briefed.

Then Maxwell was contacted. He was told to fly to Gibraltar, go aboard the Lady Ghislaine and sail to the Canary Islands. There at sea he would receive his £400million quick fix in the form of a banker's draft. Maxwell did as he was told.

On the night of November 4, 1991, the Lady Ghislaine, one of the world's biggest yachts, was at sea.

[ . . . ]

As Victor Ostrovsky, a former Mossad agent told us: "On that cold night Mossad's problems with Robert Maxwell were over."

The incontrovertible facts about his murder are contained in a previously-unseen autopsy report by Britain's then-leading forensic pathologist Dr Iain West and Israel State Pathologist Dr Yehuda Hiss. Of all the documents in our possession, these reports confirm the truth about Maxwell's death.

Gordon Thomas & Martin Dillon are authors of The Assassination of Robert Maxwell: Israel's Super Spy, published by Robson Books.

Gordon Thomas (21 February 1933 – 3 March 2017) was a British investigative journalist and author, notably on topics of secret intelligence.[1][2] Thomas was the author of 53 books published worldwide[3] including The Pope's Jews,[4] Secret Wars[5] and Gideon's Spies.[6] Thomas got the scoop on the nationalisation of the Suez Canal for the Daily Express in 1956.[7] He was a cousin of the poet Dylan Thomas.[8]

For a second source, consider this:

Lawsuit Protesting Allegation Of Maxwell-Mossad Link Dropped
https://progresspond.com/2010/07/31/seymour-hershs-the-samson-option/

One of the most tantalizing news items of the year was buried deep inside the Washington Post ‘s Aug. 19 Style section under the coyly uninformative headline: “Hersh Wins Apology from British Papers.” Persistent readers had to burrow 19 lines into the story to learn that it began with Pulitzer Prize-winning American investigative reporter Seymour Hersh’s charge in his book The Samson Option that the late London Daily Mirror publisher Robert Maxwell and Mirror foreign editor Nicholas Davies had links to Mossad, Israel’s shadowy foreign intelligence agency.

Maxwell and the Mirror Group sued Hersh and his British publisher, Faber & Faber, Ltd. over the charges. Less than two weeks later, however, Maxwell’s body was found floating in the sea near the Canary Islands, where he had been traveling in his yacht, seemingly alone except for the crew.

The manner in which the Czech-born British publishing tycoon’s body was spirited away for burial in Israel after a perfunctory autopsy by Spanish authorities ignited widespread speculation over whether Maxwell, who was in the midst of high-profile negotiations to purchase the New York Daily News at the time, was murdered, committed suicide, or slipped off the deck of the luxurious yacht accidentally or after a heart attack.

@leveymg That was while Mueller ran the place, which means the Bureau has had everything tucked safely away in its files for decades. Would explain the reason why Epstein was given a deal in sentencing, as was Maxwell, who was granted immunity. https://truepundit.com/fbi-pedophile-jeffrey-epstein-was-informant-for-m...

@leveymg but your reply struck me as a complete non-sequitur unrelated to anything I had written. Yes, it's long been clear that Epstein has extremely powerful connections and this time around people are bringing up the possibility that he is working for some sort of state intelligence agency, most likely the Israeli Mossad. Of course I'm glad this necessary information is coming out, but the reason I don't focus on it is that it is peripheral to my primary concerns. Not that it's not important; just that it doesn't grab me. I appreciate careful investigators such as yourself and hope you continue your very good and necessary work. My focus tends a bit broader; I want to know where the plutocrats intend to take the rest of us. The characters in this organized crime scenario who are motivated by self-interest make for some hair-raising drama, but I want to know how the political players -- particularly the rhetoricians -- intend to use it. When globalists like Chrystia Freeland throw around terms like "depopulation," I get scared for the human race.
