Tulsi Soldiers On, In Spite of Attacks

Well, the Democratic war on progressives was on full display this past weekend as Tulsi spoke at the California Democratic Convention on Saturday along with other Democratic luminaries and candidates. Tulsi's speech was messed with--of course--unlike every other person's speech.

There was a row of speakers in the front of the hall at the Moscone center, and one towards the back. During Tulsi's speech, the volume on the back speakers were somehow turned very low, and a large group of people started talking to one another loudly in the back to drown out Tulsi's ability to be heard to a large percentage of the delegates trying to hear her in the back half of the room.

The Democratic establishment has no ability to play fair. In other words, they continue to cheat.

Still, evidently, Tulsi's speech got the most enthusiasm, hoorays, and chants of support of any on that day (note that Bernie did not speak that day).

Convention News

------------

Tulsi is now up to 80,000 individual donors. Tulsi will be a participant in the first two debates, but for the third debate, which takes place in September, and for later debates the DNC has increased the bar: candidates will need 130,000 individual donors *and* (not *or*) will need to poll at 2% in at least 4 polls from their supported list. Otherwise, they will not be invited to participate.

This makes it pretty imperative that Tulsi "hit it out of the park" at the first two debates. That's really the only event that can bring her the needed attention, otherwise she will be seriously sidelined as far as events that can reach millions of people.

If you know people who have not donated to her yet, it might be worth asking them if they'd consider donating $1 to her campaign.

------------

Tulsi has continuted to poll around 1% in most national polls.

And, that's the update for now . . .

I think Tulsi will make the third debate in September.

She will also gain valuable national recognition. She would be a great UN Ambassador, if she is not a President first.

which sounds like it could use some of her clear-sighted and humanitarian perspective.

I heard an interesting interview yesterday with the young creators of the documentary, Call me Intern.

In 1995, there was 150 unpaid interns at the United Nations a year, compared with 4000 unpaid interns in 2005 – about 10 percent of their staff, says Hyde.

“It’s certainly been a progression where you’ve seen entry-level positions virtually go out of existence in many industries, replaced by unpaid internships which mean that people who can afford to work for free end up getting into the industry,” he says.

@janis b

Thanks for the link, janis. The UN has been disappointing lately. They really need to move the general assembly out of the US for the time being.

@Pluto's Republic

That wouldn't be a bad start, moving the UN out of the US. Thanks Pluto.

@Pluto's Republic She could remove the quotes from that title, and begin work on dismantling the military empire.

make a forceful pitch in the debates calling out the MSM cable networks to invite her on for interviews, as it appears she is getting iced out compared to many other candidates, invited only by Fox, and maybe non-prime time invites elsewhere when viewership is very low. And I have concerns also about the extent to which her name is being excluded in the major polls, or whether she is buried in the bottom of the pile of 24 along with many no-names.

She also will need to clearly articulate why her bold voice on FP is unique in the field, and needs to be heard going forward as no one else is talking about our criminal FP.

This is why he is running again. He wants his voice heard because no one else will say what he will.

This is on economics.

This is on why the hell the troops went to Vietnam, but there are some more great highlights from the debate. Obama promised that he would only send the troops to war that it would be based on sound intelligence and that he would be honest with the American people. lol

Here he says that the other candidates scare the hell out of him on Iran and said that we should get the hell out of Iraq.

The videos are 2-5 minutes only. I hope that he gets to say what he wants at the debates.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

@snoopydawg is managed by a pair of teenagers in New York. They were fans of Gravel and worked very hard to convince him to run again as a way to push the conversation leftward. And Mike Gravel is completely on board with what they post. His Twitter account is one of the best and most honest out there.

Compensated Spokes Model for Big Poor.

Didn't dems do something similar to Bernie supporters at the national convention. Weren't various methods used to drown out Bernie supporters? Amazing how corrupt democratic party leadership is in CA.

@MrWebster Not only drowned out, but locked out. Bernie delegates would leave their seat to visit the restroom, and then were not allowed to return. They were replaced in their seats by actors hired by the DNC using Craiglist ads. (The actors were coached to chant "USA! USA! USA!" at scripted moments.)

One of the delegations treated the worst was the contingent from Washington State. Many of us Bernie supporters in WA made financial donations to help them pay for their convention expenses.

At the convention, they held up Bernie signs and shouted "No more war!" In order to drown them out, the DNC activated white noise machines around them, and also turned out the lights in their section.

There are also videos showing objects such as plastic drinking cups being thrown at (and hitting) Bernie delegates, and Bernie delegates being mocked by Clinton delegates. It was easy to tell who was who. The Bernie delegates were dressed casually and looked like regular people of all demographics, while the Clinton delegates were mostly over-50 white women and some men, dressed up in suits and nicely accessorized dresses.

And they still wonder why I will not "vote blue no matter who".
