Count the Paper Ballots in Texas

And maybe in Florida too.

I just don't believe it. When I went to vote in the primaries, I was excited to find a new voting system that records electronically and also prints a paper ballot. "We are really protected now," I thought. But what if it was just a ruse to give the semblance of propriety? After all, as noted in a previous hecate comment, Texas is the state that makes it the most difficult to register to vote. Why this other show of goodwill?

I didn't believe the polls here either the past few months. For Ted Cruz to win, he would have had to recruit new voters to his cause. He lost a demographic from the last election, that of the educated republican voter who is not right-wing religious and who dislikes Trump. How did he manage to replace those people?

I didn't see republicans out campaigning here. Did they do more than attack ads and signs? There were no signs up until about a month ago and suddenly overnight there were a million. It was clear that some super pac bought a million signs and spread them around late one night.

Also, it is likely that most of those who voted for Beto, voted straight ticket. There is too much variation in the vote count between candidates for me to believe they are accurate. And they got greedy in their cheating. Far too many assholes won. The dem running for congress in my district was progressive, held rallies everywhere, and the repug holding a Cruz sign near the early voting spot, was also holding up her sign. I don't even know what her opponent looks like. I don't know if he did anything other than signs.

These guys had a plan and carried it out. They didn't need to campaign. They didn't need to worry. It was all taken care of for them.

Even scientific discoveries start with a theory.

Beto and the Dems will not call for or pay for a recount and if they did the recount would be rigged.

@Roy Blakeley

I have not gone through all of the results and numbers again, but wonder if the dems who were wildly popular and lost . . . if they are all progressives. Kind of looks like it. That would put the traditional dem party in the middle of it.

Where the only information available comes from the Sinclair, Fox, talk radio, GOP politician, Koch echo chamber and practically every voter is white. That's how it is all over the country including here in California (although I know quite few Trumpers here in "liberal" Oakland.) The election map of Texas seems to have a lot more blue chunks around the big cities and coast where a broader amount of information and direct contact between diverse people is available. I don't think social media plays a big role with Trump supporters. Many are older and want to pretend the internet was never invented or is a liberal sickness. I think most Trump supporters don't even use twitter. I think Trump's tweets are purely aimed to enrage the internet savy at no cost to him.

Beware the bullshit factories.

@Timmethy2.0 " Many are older and want to pretend the internet was never invented " not true. Old people are very savvy with the internet. It's just they don't realize there's other stuff on there besides porn.

But come on, this is like living in 1917 and trying to get an 8o year old to drive a car. Computers are a source of huge resentment for many people born before a certain time, especially when compared to all the 6 year old whizz kids.

@Timmethy2.0 I only found this place by accident.....but seriously, it's that bad? I would be very hobbled without the internet, tracking down information or parts. I got into building computers back in the clone days (DOS days)so I guess I'm a little oblivious to other people and tech. My blind spot are phones with all the bells and whistles.
