"Obama is a War Criminal!", and so IS Trump
The following is a link to a transcript of a speech given by Francis Boyle, professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law. He’s the senior professor at the College of Law having taught there for 41 years and attended Harvard Law School, the same as war criminal Barack Obama.
It’s not a long speech, more like some prepared remarks. He explains how he was initially “fairly disposed toward Obama” but learned quickly like many of us that Obama was just a Big Fat Liar, and a war criminal to boot. His remarks were evidently in response to the University of Illinois giving Obama an “ethics in government” award (at least it's not another Nobel prize). He doesn’t mince words.
“The University of Illinois is giving him an “ethics in government” award. This is a sick joke and a demented fraud! The University of Illinois, for its own typical bootlicking reasons, wants to whitewash all of Obama’s international crimes. Obama should be sitting in a jail cell in The Hague with the International Criminal Court and not here getting some bogus “ethics in government” award from the bootlickers of the University of Illinois campus bigwigs."
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/50263.htm
He goes on the say he’s hardly alone in his sentiments (Chomsky, Unger, etc.) and that Trump is simply continuing the same policies put in place under Obama and Bush. But, he says, Obama definitely knows better (as opposed to Trump who knows only himself) because “He’s a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School just like I am. Obama has abandoned and betrayed every known Principle of the Rule of Law that I ever learned at Harvard Law School including the United States Constitution which he doesn’t give diddly-squat about. “
Just to be clear, he states:
“Obama is a monster! He’s a criminal! As I said he should be in jail, not getting some bogus “ethics” award from the bootlickers at the University of Illinois administration.”
Right on, Francis.
He goes on to list some of Obama’s war crimes including his “genocidal work” in Afghanistan, and his wars in Libya, Syria and Yemen. For those that know the truth about U.S. imperialism it’s not new nor a surprise (always an enlightening read however). But shout it from the rooftops Professor, the more the merrier as they say in antiwar land.
Which brings me to Trump. I’ve been concerned about all the talk of the deep state, the democratic party and evidently the lizard people as well all wanting to take down Trump. My concern isn't for Trump. His supporters who dig in even deeper (THEY hate HIM so HE must be on OUR side!) and many others, including a segment of the left, are quite concerned about our “democracy” and our “constitutional process” being damaged beyond repair (FUBAR) because of this elected and unelected cabal trying to prevent him from doing his duties and possibly remove (a bona fide war criminal) him from office.
The most common refrain is that they’re preventing Trump from seeking peace (yes, I'm exaggerating) with North Korea, Russia and Syria, like that’s some kind of fact or something and that it will result in World War III or worse. All of this conjecture on what Trump would or wouldn't do is all based on Trump’s own words (as opposed to what he's actually done), and what exactly IS Trump boys and girls? That’s right, a Big Fat Liar just like Obama (and a war criminal to boot).
Here's Paul Craig Roberts:
"This plot against Trump is dangerous to life on earth and demands that the governments and peoples of the world act now to expose this plot and to bring it to an end before it kills us all."
In other words,
"The reason that America is at risk is that the CIA and the presstitute media have put America—and Europe—at risk by frustrating President Trump’s intention to reduce the dangerous level of tensions between the two major nuclear powers."
Regardless of what Trump would or wouldn't do without parts of the ruling class affecting him, what he has done is without question. The fact is that Trump is also a war criminal like his predecessors. It's too fucking late, he not only should be removed from the office of the president like yesterday, he should be put on trial and sentenced to life in prison for his crimes. Regardless of his meetings with Kim and Putin and his interminable bullshit tweets, Trump has been Commander in Chief (CINC) of the U.S. imperialist military machine for over a year and a half and is responsible for the war crimes conducted under his command, of which there are many. It's that simple. It has to be that simple, doesn't it?
So all this talk about Trump being stopped from doing this or that regarding foreign policies is troubling to me because he’s already done enough to justify throwing him in prison alongside Obama and Bush and many, many others, and throwing away the fucking key. No one talks about THAT.
Those attempting to defend Trump against the deep state seem like they’re accepting Trump’s war crimes because they think, based on Trump’s own words (um, he’s a fucking liar) that he wants some kind of peace with Russia, North Korea and Outer Space (you know that's next don't you?) but the deep state won’t let him, and those trying to stop him are out to start absolute chaos. The last part certainly is true but that doesn't change what Trump has done while in office. Since when do words from a lying billionaire cancel out the murdering of innocent children?

It all seems so ass backward, which of course is the way it is now. War is peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength and Donald Trump, the war criminal, is our only hope for "Peace".

Popular Resistance's new article, "All Wars are Illegal,
what are we going to do about it?"
"Every war being fought today is illegal. Every action taken to carry out these wars is a war crime."

Obviously, what to do about it has to include holding those who wage war, i.e., our own fucking government and those that control it, accountable. We should start with our presidents and congressional representatives.

I am out of snarky remarks, Big Al, but you didn't
disappoint my latest request to you to bitch about serious matters like war criminals. Thanks.

Saw your request mimi,
The whole US government is a war criminal too!
We cannot let Congress off the hook for the out of control militarism and imperialism that is taking place all over the world. Only Congress has the authority to declare war and yet Congress has abdicated that authority while continuing to pass obscene budgets for war making. The last DoD budget is case in point wherein Congress actually gave Trump a larger budget than requested! And zero Democrats voted against it.
The entire value system in this country is skewed.

The country never had a value system to start with.
And now that empire, and capitalism along with it, are in yet another state of decay. But the two-party plebs would rather argue over which 'libtard' or 'trumptard' token policies caused this shit.
Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Thank you

Thank you

Ya got to be a Spirit, cain't be no Ghost. . .
Clearly expresses my opinion of Obama, lying ff that he is.
Clinton came in at the height of Reagan mania giving him a far-fetched and feeble pass for being a liar and a crook. Bush was plain stupid. Trump even dumber than Bush. Obama has no excuse lame or otherwise. He won with a landslide vote and a clear majority for change. He was smart and knew better. Of all the roaches to hold office in the last 50 years, Obama is the slimiest of them all. When Michael Moore, Maher, and other Hillbamabots like them praise Obama, it makes me want to barf.

To add to my comment above
There seems to be an intimation that some of us are not discussing serious topics. Here is my perspective. We can bitch and gripe about it all, but at some point we have to step up.
I spent every Saturday for four and a half years on the ground with a local Peace vigil and completely echo Big Al's sentiments. What my personal experience taught me is that most people I met, regardless of political self identification, agree that we must end all these wars, but are at a loss as how to do that. The only way I could see doing something, anything, was to participate in the Peace vigil and educate people about these wars. That Peace vigil lasted for 13 and a half years, of which I spent the last four and half years participating. It finally folded due to age and health issues of the few remaining participants.
I have written here about how the obscene amounts of money spent on the military (bases in nearly every country in the world) and on these wars is destroying our country from within. We have money for bombs but not to help our own citizens.
I wrote a lengthy series of seventeen essays on neoliberalism and how that economic philosophy goes hand in hand with our nation's imperialism. I tried to write several essays about the deep state and shadow government which play a distinct part in our imperialistic wars. Finally, I just got tired of trying to do the heavy research that was required to tackle these complex subjects. And it seemed to me as though most people were not making the connections I was trying to write about.
So the question is: Is it a chicken and egg thing or is it a vicious circle? I do not know for sure, but I do know that wars will continue escalate regardless of whether or not we jail Bush, Obama, Trump or any other political figure for war crimes unless the deep state is also dismantled. Wars are being waged to enrich the oligarchs and big corporations and they will always find bought off and/or patsy politicians to do their bidding. There is big money to be made here. Until the profit motive is taken out of war, they will find a way to continue making war and resource theft.

I'm with you GG
Listen to your higher mind.
I envy you and your compatriots
In the end, it was just me and Don who was in his late 80's. Our other last stand guy, Bill had to drop out due to very bad health. Don and I tried to go on, but it was not the same for Don without Bill who was a founding member along with Don. Since Don was the last remaining founder, he decided to disband our vigil. It was in June of 2016 and I still miss it.
I tried to recruit people, but it was very difficult to get people to join us because it meant giving up a Saturday. I really looked forward to doing the Peace vigil each week and found it very rewarding.

That was a noble effort on your behalf
Listen to your higher mind.
A couple of reasons
Here is the essay I wrote about our Peace vigil and the men I knew who participated in it. There is also a picture of the five of us. I still miss it.

Exactly what Smedley Butler said a century ago,
The Popular Resistance article talks about the Kellogg-Briand Pact in the 1920's, after WWII, which basically outlawed all war. Didn't work the first time, but maybe we need to try it again.
Check, check, check, check, maybe the end of the empire is near

Obama over Trump for me in a second
You want to talk about a criminal. Every fiber of Trump's being is criminal and Trump is President not Obama. Not to mention Trump is extremely stupid and short sighted, with no leadership qualities, unlike Obama.
Beware the bullshit factories.
Here we go again.
Winston Churchill was a much bigger war criminal than Obama
People are still getting killed because of those arbitrary lines Churchill drew in the Middle East after World War I. He was also a great leader and motivator and orator with a sense of what is right in the end. Bloody tyranny could still be ruling Europe if not for Churchill's leadership and intelligence and foresight. It's easy to look at the big picture and jump to wrong, self serving conclusions.
Beware the bullshit factories.
Yes I admit it
The passion overtakes me, because I'm freaking upset about all the manipulation and greed and narcissism.
Sorry about that.
Beware the bullshit factories.
I can agree with you.
The difference, though, is that I'm unwilling to apply the blinders just because a particular candidate sports a (D) next to their name.
I voted for Obama twice. Shame on me.
Well, as tempting as it is to get into lesser evilism when
I'll take Churchill over Hitler
Fucking "lesser-evilism" is a propaganda tool of huge use to the greater evils.
Beware the bullshit factories.
I should add that in serial killer parlance,
My position is that's the way it's got to be if we're ever going to stop them.
It's not an either or here Tim
Hitler was a war criminal
Churchill was a war criminal
Obama is a war criminal
Trump is a war criminal
The difference between Obama and Trump seems to be that people refuse to admit that Obama was because he was 'Mr. Charm' while he was doing it and Trump is seen as a water buffalo and Obama is still seeing awards regardless of that fact.
BTW. People are being sold as slaves in Libya because of Obama's actions. History is always affected by people's actions. Hitler's actions are still affecting people today so I really don't understand your point. Bad is bad and evil is evil. No way to quantify Evil.
The public has been conditioned over time—in ways that would make Pavlov’s dawg seem like an in independent thinker
yes.
and bill clinton was a war criminal, as were harry truman, dubya bush, poppy bush, colin powell, jimmy ('I never dropped a bomb') carter only *aided* war criminals over iran, the list would go on and on to those who aided and abetted the, from samantha power to madelieine albright, to dick cheney's 'secret energy tak force'...well, you get my drift.
and those heroes w/ feet of clay...the list is too long to bring. zionists, the one who escorted war criminal nareda modi on his amerikan charm offensive after the US state dept. had denied him entry for his crimes, those in the O administration who'd done shuttle diplomacy and put their arms around genocidaire paul kagame...condi rice, and on and on.
So you have to choose one of those to defend you against Hitler
You going to choose Trump? It seems like the good ship C99 sometimes sails close to false equivalence land.
Beware the bullshit factories.
You are displaying a false
There’s a meme in there somewhere
I’m up here on my moral high ground, chiding you for an insufficiently vehement, out-of-control emotional reaction to Trump.
Trump occasionally does the right thing for the wrong reasons
Can't say that of any of the last four Presidents, all of whom always did the wrong thing for the worst reasons (money and power).
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
I don’t know, maybe Trump understands reverse psychology better
The U.S. making noble-sounding noises and leading war alliances hasn’t worked, has it? It’s only made things worse, with everything bad spreading, and everything the planet needs getting bogged down, while every other real power in the world dodges the hard questions and pursues its own narrow self-interest.
So let the U.S. make selfish, perhaps even stupid-sounding noises and seem too unpredictable to lead for a while. Let’s see if that gets better results.
Maybe all the other powers on earth will now have to pull more of their own weight, learn to co-operate, and actually solve the world’s problems together — with the added emotional kick of thinking that, every time they succeed, they’re spiting the United States?
Imagine North and South Korea saying: “Bolton, Trump — hey, you know what? We’re the Korean people and they’re not. Screw those guys, let’s talk.”
