FBI told FISA court Steele wasn't source of report used to justify surveilling Trump team, docs show

This should be enough to blow up the entire Clinton/Obama/DNC scheme to pull off a soft coup. How can the Clinton Creature still make a public spectacle of herself with ALL we now know? How can any of them keep lying to the country? How stupid do they think we are? (Rhetorical wuestion.) They’ve created the biggest political scandal in our poor country’s history.

FBI told FISA court Steele wasn't source of report used to justify surveilling Trump team, docs show

On four occasions, the FBI told the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) court that it "did not believe" former British spy Christopher Steele was the direct source for a Yahoo News article implicating former Trump aide Carter Page in Russian collusion, newly released documents reveal.

Instead, the FBI suggested to the court, the September 2016 article by Michael Isikoff was independent corroboration of the salacious, unverified allegations against Trump in the infamous Steele Dossier. Federal authorities used both the Steele Dossier and Yahoo News article to convince the FISA court to authorize a surveillance warrant for Page.

But London court records show that contrary to the FBI's assessments, Steele briefed Yahoo News and other reporters in the fall of 2016 at the direction of Fusion GPS -- the opposition research firm behind the dossier.

The FBI's assessment that Steele was not the direct source of the Yahoo News article is contained in all of the released FISA applications, including a renewal in June 2017.

DOJ releases FISA docs that formed basis for surveillance of ex-Trump adviser Carter Page

*

The materials released by the DOJ include an October 2016 application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to wiretap Page as well as several renewal applications. It is highly unusual for documents related to FISA wiretap applications to be released.

Though heavily redacted, the documents show that the infamous and unverified Steele Dossier was a major component of the 2016 surveillance warrant. The dossier, which was opposition research funded by the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign, contains salacious allegations against Trump. It was also a major component used to justify subsequent renewals.

The visible sections of the released FISA documents do not indicate the dossier was ever verified. Instead, the FBI claimed that Steele was “reliable” based on his previous work.

The FISA records also reveal that a September 2016 Yahoo News article by Michael Isikoff was a significant part of the government's warrant application.

*

The unredacted FISA materials also contain only limited references to ex-Trump adviser George Papadopoulos. Media reports had speculated that Papadopoulos' 2016 meeting in London with a professor who had ties to Russia was a key justification for the FISA-authorized surveillance of Page.

Papadopoulos has since pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe.

House Democrats were quick to say that the documents bolstered their arguments.

"For more than a year, House Republicans have bullied the Department of Justice and FBI to release highly sensitive documents to derail the Special Counsel's and other legitimate national security investigations and cover for the President," House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement. "For the sake of our national security and our democracy, these vital investigations must be allowed to continue unhindered by Republican interference. The GOP must cease their attacks on our law enforcement and intelligence communities, and finally decide where their loyalty lies."

U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, the California Democrat who is the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said the documents underscore the "legitimate concern" the FBI had about Page's activities. Yet Schiff said the materials shouldn't have been released during an ongoing investigation because of national security.

And the Dims carry on with their lies. In a country that is honestly governed, these people would be pariahs. They’d also be pleading the Fifth.

Now they’re caught in a trap of their own making.

or wasn't Carter Page a known FBI informant? Think of how brilliant the Russians must have been:
"So Ivan, how do we contact Trump and coordinate our master plan?"
"How about we use that guy who testified against us three years ago?"
"A brilliant plan Ivan! They will never suspect that!"

The FBI had used Page previously or he had was connected with them for some time. This whole damn thing is starting to get confusing because the information gets changed or added and then they are more players introduced.

I knew about Bruce Ohr and his wife from an article I read last year and now I can't remember if I commented on it and posted the link or if I wrote an essay with the article in it.

As to this:

The FISA records also reveal that a September 2016 Yahoo News article by Michael Isikoff was a significant part of the government's warrant application.

Fusion GPS has been in business for a long time and companies hire them to clean up their reputations and planting false information in/on news sites. This is what started this damn thing to begin with. Fusion gave Michael Isikoff the Steele dossier and he posted it Yahoo news and I think one other website and as Amanda has shown that is what the FBI used to get the FISA warrant. But they had also gotten one so that they could investigate Page. 3 times.

The story has changed again it looks like.

The unredacted FISA materials also contain only limited references to ex-Trump adviser George Papadopoulos. Media reports had speculated that Papadopoulos' 2016 meeting in London with a professor who had ties to Russia was a key justification for the FISA-authorized surveillance of Page.

Didn't the original story say that Papadopoulos got drunk one night in Amsterdam and then he told an ambassador that Russia had Hillary's emails and that Wikileaks was going to be releasing them soon? Yes I am sure that was the original version. But then we found out that the FBI sent one to their ex agents (Milford?) to tell Papadopoulos about the Wikileaks story? I'm pretty sure that was what happened.

See why it's getting so damn confusing? I'll have to look at my comments and essays to see if I'm right or not.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

There’s so many people saying so much crap. If this was a movie you’d walk out before halftime because you’d think that the darn thing was too ridiculous to sit and watch all the way through.

How the Russia Inquiry Began: A Campaign Aide, Drinks and Talk of Political Dirt

PWASHINGTON — During a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016, George Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, made a startling revelation to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain: Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton.

The hacking and the revelation that a member of the Trump campaign may have had inside information about it were driving factors that led the F.B.I. to open an investigation in July 2016 into Russia’s attempts to disrupt the election and whether any of President Trump’s associates conspired.

It's a simple as that today. Again, Ron Suskind's article SCREAMS to me:

The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."
