The habit of always putting off an experience until you can afford it, or until the time is right, or until you know how to do it is one of the greatest burglars of joy. Be deliberate, but once you’ve made up your mind–jump in.

What is important to you? Living vicariously? Grabbing for the gusto?
I have lived in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and the Piedmont of NC. During "the work years", I traveled extensively, but always had the work black cloud hanging over me.
Well I am not working for the man, and I have always been fascinated by the world, so I decided to just go for it. The trip that is. I just started funkin' with Flickr and Shutterfly, to see if I can use my pictures.
In the meantime, being home has been a difficult adjustment. I am anxious and ready to roll.
Working on it.
Have a great weekend! The thread is OPEN.

Good morning, Tim ~~~
One more week in my cast. Foot is swelling and woke me up. I’m anxious to have this ordeal end.
I know how difficult it is to stay when you want to go. Explore, Tim. Go for it. We both are well aware how short this life really is.
Have a beautiful day and weekend, everyone!

The temporal nature of life imparts an urgency to live a full life. During my ride I often thought fondly about the days with Sue, and I would have rather been traveling with her. However, Sue's passing should not cause me to stop living.
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. - Friedrich Nietzsche -
I’ll heed your advice, Tim.
I realize the importance of rehab since I’ve had several relatives have a variety of surgeries involving rotator cuff, hip replacement, knee replacement, etc., all extoll the virtues of rehab. I’m definitely on board. Getting older, I realize how much more I need to pay attention - be mindful.
Live as full as you can each day. Sue lives in your heart, forever.
Peace, my friend.

Can't wait til I can get outta here. I am ready to break up with everything. Just not with my son, but otherwise, there is nada left. Gosh I wished I had never lived through the last three years.
Andiamo avanti !
Good day to you.

Driven out
A restless spirit needs freedom to survive. Some things are better not contained. Mental boundaries are being forced on us ever more. Gotta go!

Have you dried out in NC yet?
We finally had a little dry weather this week....enough to let me mow my main areas. We still got a 1/2" this week in two 15 min 1/4" burst.
Your discussion of stuff last week has got me to thinking. We've got a bunch of stuff to sort through this winter. Clean mama has this advice for quickly sorting -
1. Open storage box/shelf/bin and empty completely.
2. Sort quickly into 4 piles – relocate (bring out of storage), keep (keep in storage), toss, donate.
3. Put everything in its place – relocate, keep, toss, or donate.
4. If something is good enough to go back in storage, label it. Use a label maker, masking tape, or an envelope with an index card taped to the outside to write down the items inside the box or bin.
Another professional organizer offers this advice -
I have learnt a major lesson – it is rarely just about the ‘stuff’. Instead, sorting through belongings and clearing a space is likely to be an emotional journey through your identity, history, relationships and self-esteem.
1) Think accessibility not volume
The power of memories comes from accessing them regularly, and not the volume. This can be a key way to navigate through inherited items, children’s pictures, and family photographs.
2) Look forward to rediscovering ‘lost’ items
You will find something you thought was lost – this will definitely happen. It is usually in the first hour of a sort session, but we always take time to celebrate this find.
3) Set structure and parameters
Have structure and parameters to your sort. This can be that you are tackling this one cupboard for one hour
4) Plan a first sift
Be content with a first sift. Leave tougher decisions to a second sift when you have made progress on clearing a space first.
5) Create a memory box
When you know you have a few things kept safe that remind you of key chapters, you do not feel as if you have to keep everything.
Anyway I thought the approaches were interesting. Best of luck to us all thinning down our junk! Then there's the other problem....finding the stuff you need....

So, kids bailed on Judo last night due to my ride Bailing
And they didn't want to walk 12 blocks in the heat. I don't blame em, most of the rest of the class had also bailed last night. I had a GREAT practice, and really worked on my movement a lot. I'm starting to make a few friends there, and it's a good feeling.
New Logos, as is usual. Hector. Hope everybody likes it.
Have a good Friday, and may serendipity strike you.
