Mother Do You Think Trump Will Drop the Bomb?

aaa.jpg

North Korea has sent three emergency letters to the United Nations Secretary-General Guterres in the last 23 days regarding the war threats and preparations made by Madman Trump and the United States of America that elected him to represent this country.

(Trump represents this country. Heh. Get it?)

Here's the latest one:

Ambassador Ja Song Nam stated:

“I write to you with respect to the worst ever situation prevailing in and around the Korean peninsula, which is making it impossible to predict when nuclear war breaks out due to the US nuclear war equipment of unprecedentedly large scale being massively deployed taking up a strike posture. The United States, based on the deployment of three nuclear powered aircraft carrier strike groups in the sub-region, is holding another joint military exercise with south Korea, involving different types of destroyers and submarines, beginning from November 11, 2017. The U.S. is reactivating….. nuclear capable strategic bomber B-52….and is maintaining a surprise strike posture with frequent flight of B-1B and B-2 formations to the air space of south Korea….The US flung the words of “total destruction”of a sovereign state at the UN General Assembly, the world largest official forum of diplomacy and is now running amok for war exercises by introducing nuclear war equipment in and around the Korean peninsula, thereby proving that the US itself is the major offender of the escalation of tension and undermining of the peace…..Despite this fact, the UN Security Council, whose mission is to ensure the world peace and security, keeps turning a blind eye to the nuclear war exercises of the United States who is hell bent on bringing a catastrophic disaster to humanity, thereby giving rise to a serious concern on the double standard of the UN Security Council.”

No one seems to be listening, it's pretty amazing. It's like about anything nowadays. Another mass shooting? Ho hum. Another threat of nuclear war? Ho hum.

Will Trump do it? Will they do it? Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb? Isn't having to ask the question enough to justify trying to stop them? Where are our priorities?

Where is the antiwar left? Was there ever an antiwar left? We seem to be waiting for fate. Which means we're placing our fate in Trump's little hands.

The world's fate is in Donald Trump's little hands? WTF!

Or it could be Russia, maybe tiny hands will bomb Russia. Or let loose a Rooskie specific virus to wipe out their population.

"Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznihir, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, stated at the Moscow International Security Conference that the Operations Command of the Russian General Staff has concluded that Washington is preparing a nuclear first strike on Russia.

The other is the report that the US is collecting Russian DNA for the US Air Force weapons laboratory, the implication being that the US intends to research if a bio-weapon can be created that only targets Russians."

You think Trump couldn't do it, that there are checks and balances to prevent an insane madman (or madwoman because make no mistake, had Clinton won I'd be writing the same damn thing only with her name) from giving an order to annihilate the human race? Think again.

"We have no way of knowing what is in President Trump’s mind when it comes to the use of nuclear or any other category of weapons. Most analysts, and Trump’s own national security team, believe war with North Korea would result in enormous loss of life on and beyond the Korean peninsula. Does Trump believe that? Does he care? (Don’t judge from his script while addressing the South Korean national assembly.) Democrats aren’t waiting to find out; they have drafted legislation that would prevent Trump from unilaterally using a nuclear weapon or initiating war with North Korea. But though they claim some degree of Republican support, they know full well that Republicans are no more going to vote in favor of these initiatives than they would vote in favor of a restrictive AUMF. They, and we, are literally stuck with having to hope Trump will heed the cautionary words of the professional military, such as in the recent Pentagon report to Congress that concludes that finding and destroying the DPRK’s nuclear-weapons inventory would require a US ground invasion."

Sixth Column.

I'm so sick of these techno-fascists who think they can win wars cleanly and quickly by SCIENCE!!!!!

Feels like the powder that the democrats have been keeping dry is everywhere, and just needs the spark to go off. And the problem is that it won't be directed. Stockpiling powder just creates an explosion hazard.

Sorry, just so tired of nobody willing to take a stand against war, because they think that it won't affect them. That time has past and if there is a war the corporate search for cheap labor ensures that we will have plenty of folks over here who have zero loyalty to the US and plenty of loyalty to cash. (Most of the people we were "Fighting" in Iraq were Part Time Soldiers who only killed Americans for a paycheck. It was a fast way to make money from what I understand. Then turn around and work for the Americans for a SECOND paycheck. It's what folks had to do to survive with no hope or work.)

@detroitmechworks an entire population? I used to write job descriptions for the federal government among other things. One of the job requirements would be "must be a certified psychopath".

Since both political parties are fully supportive of imperialism with the democratic party now leading the way with it's russophobia nonsense, any antiwar movement has to be in opposition to the duopoly. Now would be a good time to start one.

@Big Al as in "Offensive to accepted standards of decency".

Of course considering our public officials have no sense of decency...

I mean, such an idea would result in a HUGE profit, if they could pull it off. And as that's the only guiding principle, what's a few million dead if the balance book is Deeply in the Black...

I never knew that the term "Never Again" only pertained to
those born Jewish

"Antisemite used to be someone who didn't like Jews
now it's someone who Jews don't like"

Heard from Margaret Kimberley

@ggersh but we know for damn sure Clinton would have done the same. More proof that it doesn't matter what party is in charge, Empire is a bipartisan issue that will not be challenged by anyone, not Sanders, not Gabbard, no one.

People talk about the deep state's affect on Trump but forget the impact it has on our entire political system.

if it can't stop any country from doing what the Hell they want? It's been saying that Saudi Arabia needs to stop the blockades, yet they haven't done so. It was going to sanction the Saudis for this, but they threatened to withhold funding it so it backed off.

It constantly says that wars are not sanctioned, yet wars still happen. Human rights violations continue after it releases a statement on them.

I don't see why this even existed if it has no real authority to enforce its rulings.

Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?

@snoopydawg The only reason to have a UN is to be able to declare war with impunity as a Democracy.

(Nope, not kidding. In Civ 2, that was the benefit. Democracies had trouble prosecuting wars, UNLESS you had the UN, in which case you could freely ignore the people and congress.)

@snoopydawg to challenge them. It shows you how controlled the rest of the world is. Those who do challenge the Empire are either shut up or ignored, or both.

It is interesting how even on a blog like this, antiwar is not something most people will focus on. Even with this current situation with war all over the place and the threat of nuclear war. It must be because most people, even those active in politics, simply do not want to think about it. That combined with the complexity of current foreign affairs makes it difficult for most to stay connected to it.

@Big Al

Maybe Bernie Sanders could lead the antiwar movement.

Well, that certainly got me to thinking... Probably snark, but no matter - good snark.

Made me realize that I can't see Sanders at the head of that line. In fact, I'm having trouble imagining anyone presently in the national spotlight leading any type of antiwar movement. It's going to have to come from the bottom, and evidently things are going to have to get much worse before some enterprising politico exclaims "There goes my people. I must follow them, for I am their leader."

I don't see a thing and hear nothing but the "...silence of good people."

I mean, Al, war and imperialism are large, monumental issues for me. I enjoy your topics/threads (what do we call these?) I've been trying to compile and write a book on American imperialism over the last 120 years. It's been painful and slow but eh. And I'm just a whipper snapper in these parts ha.

Back to the main point:

The UN will basically ignore anything that America wants it to. The UN in one sense is the world's PR arm.

What again strikes me so is how Americans believe North Korea is a problem. A nation of starved, propagandized people under the rule of a tyrant with military equipment that is seriously underwhelming compared to the might of America.

North Korea is not a problem yet somehow we fear this nation.

Russia could be a problem but doesn't have to be. I say could be because Russia could actually do significant, if not, world-ending damage here. Russia is a problem because we are trying to force it as a problem. No one, at least in main stream media, focuses on the mindset of the Russian people. The Russian people faced the atrocities of the 20th century (of both WW1 and WW2). They know devastation first hand. They just want to live and survive. No one stops and thinks why would a nation like Russia want to go to war with the entire world. Basically if Russia attacked America, NATO would hop into that mess. So why? People just kind of glass over at that one. They just blabber on about Putin.

@Strife Delivery we're also a nation of starved, propagandized people. We just have bigger toys.

This shit is bananas.

@Daenerys Yeah and those bigger toys are the problem.

Also, we're starved of say nutrients, but well, considering we are number 1 in obesity...
