You can't really blame people for wanting to take drugs to escape the dystopian reality created and maintained by the greedy bastards. Especially when there's literally no recourse for fighting back because you can't get the proles to agree on anything in this country.

For instance, we have a faction of far-right reactionaries who think that getting rid of the government and letting the market rule will magically solve everything. The problem is, these asshole Libertarians already have exactly what they want, effectively speaking. The government has already been rendered inert by the very people and front businesses these morons so vehemently defend. But to them, that doesn't matter. They have to drown the government in the bath tub, no matter the cost.

The so-called centrists are no better. After all, they'd rather let the far-right assholes mentioned above run rough-shod over us plebs than allow any real discussion or any meaningful legislation on any issue to be passed. Dipshit Trump signed an executive order that simply speeds up the implosion of Obamacare:

And of course, the centrist cowards are whining about this. Why not let this shit die anyway? It's not like anyone who has insurance under this shit law drummed up by right-wing think tanks can actually use it anyway.

Actually, I have a better idea: Maybe we should take capitalism off life support and just let it fuckin' die. As Martin Luther King Jr. said before he was assassinated and his message usurped and whitewashed by the capitalists, capitalism has far outlived its usefulness. As it stands right now though, too many are too crippled by learned helplessness to allow for that to happen.

It seems a good chunk of congress is having alzheimer's meds filled at a local DC pharmacy.

Nearly every day for at least two decades pharmaceutical drugs have been brought by the carload to the Capitol — an arrangement so under the radar that even pharmacy lobbyists who regularly pitch Congress on their industry aren’t aware of it.

The deliveries arrive at the secretive Office of the Attending Physician, an elaborate medical clinic where Navy doctors triage medical emergencies and provide basic health care for lawmakers who pay an annual fee of just over $600. Every one comes from Washington’s oldest community pharmacy, Grubb’s.

Mike Kim, the reserved pharmacist-turned-owner of the pharmacy, said he has gotten used to knowing the most sensitive details about some of the most famous people in Washington.

“At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Kim said, listing treatments for conditions like diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

“It makes you kind of sit back and say, ‘Wow, they’re making the highest laws of the land and they might not even remember what happened yesterday.'”

And they never have to pay the out of pocket costs we plebs do.
