Why I like Jeremy Corbyn

Two weeks ago, at the same Conservative conference where Prime Minister Theresa May gave a speech so bad that some joked that ISIS was responsible, the Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond gave his own speech.

During his address in Manchester, Hammond claimed that Corbyn and John McDonnell, were "dinosaurs" and that Labour's policies would "wreck havoc" with Britain before further adding:

It’s a wicked and cynical business offering superficially simple solutions to complex challenges.

He also declared that Labour poses "an existentialist challenge to their economic model."

If it was a centrist Democrat, I expect the response would be to reassure and play down any expected changes.
In other words, pathetic defense of incrementalism.

Jeremy Corbyn took a different tactic.

Philip Hammond says that Labour poses an 'existential challenge to our economic model' - Yes, we do.

I am not going to sit back when their economic model is seeing:

homelessness double
four million children in poverty
over a million older people not getting the care they need

Their economic model is broken. It doesn’t work for most people. Even the International Monetary Fund thinks inequality and low taxes for the richest are harming the economy.

I love that.

And we'll bring that change on! Be very afraid, neoliberal centrist slime! Your days are numbered!

that others will listen to and heed. Corbyn has that voice now; he has earned credibility. This is the snowball at the top of the mountain. It's small, but it is gathering steam. I'm hoping for an avalanche.

Had he been so forthright. Bernie said a lot of the right things ("the business model of Wall Street IS fraud"). But he also pulled a lot of punches. For instance, I don't remember him saying the same statement about US Congress.

that they had been taken off the Democrat Party rolls and couldn’t vote in the primary. They were for Bernie. It appears that our elections are no more free and fair than the ones monitored by the Carter Center.

I’m not sure how Bernie could have won under those circumstances. Hell, Al Gore won in 2000, but we got stuck with Bush. Without arguing the merits and demerits of either of those candidates, I think we can see who the Deep State and PTB preferred ‘cause he sat in the White House for eight years. And BTW, isn’t he cute (barf).

But I always anticipated that sort of opposition. I'd long since bought off on the idea of systemic corruption so what else would I expect? Bernie needed to win big enough to overcome cheating. He didn't do that. That's what we need to do next time or any time we expect to win.

Bernie won. Think back to all of the 'shock and awe' epic voter suppression, whited-out and 'missing' ballots picked up by shredder-delivery trucks, expedient rule-changing and cheating in every possible area (and some where I seriously dunno how they were even thought of), together with the claim of the DNC that they were entitled to simply appoint whoever (TPTB wanted), while conning people into donating to a faked primary, this also keeping the corporate media sweet and pumping out the propaganda with the influx of so much corporate party media advertising money they'd otherwise not get.

And after all that, they still had to stop various primary vote counts/have the corporate media declare Hillary the winner first, sometimes even before the primary had taken place, ignoring the rest of the votes even where counting continued. Bernie won in a landslide - but the world was cheated, every step of the way, with nobody in the whole world being able to do a damn thing about it.And that's what we're dealing with. Not just dirty politics, but far worse, and on a global(ist) basis.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

It's humanity against the Psychos, essentially. And, of course, the Parasites that run with them, all sucking ever harder off the hosts they're so foolishly killing off with their overweening egos and greed.

That’s why Labour is now the new mainstream, developing a new consensus of how to run an economy for the many not the few.

This new consensus will reward the real wealth creators - that means all of us. It will genuinely value people and communities - and invest in them. It will create an economy fit for the 21st Century with a state that’s not afraid to act when something goes wrong but, more importantly, also proactive to make sure things work in the first place.

Unlike Mr Hammond and the Conservatives I don’t think it’s acceptable that chief executives get 180 times the pay of their average worker. I don’t think it’s acceptable that when hospital A&Es are closing the government can fund another tax giveaway for big business. And I don’t think it’s right that landlords can be paid £10 billion a year in housing benefit without even the requirement that the home is fit for human habitation.

We had a guy out saying stuff like that for a while. Now he’s nothing but a sheep dog for the same kind of people that Corbyn is describing and criticising in his response to Hammond.

Some people actually mean what they say.

EDIT TO ASK: is the second to last paragraph in Corbyn’s quote bolded? Just checking because everything is in bold since my phone upgrade. At least, that’s when this started. (I can see ‘blockquote’ worked.
EDIT EDIT: quite bolded/quote bolder
EDIT EDIT EDIT: more typos.

@Amanda Matthews

Yup, bold and beautiful. And I hope that problem clears up!

(Going by his record and character traits, I personally don't think that Bernie's sheepdogging, just doing whatever he can, however he can, to try to improve things for the 99%, as he's always done - despite being surrounded by psychopathic reality-deprived greed-balls.)
