The United States Global War OF Terror

"No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare. " -James Madison

"Of all the enemies of public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other." -James Madison

"The spirit of this country is totally adverse to a large military force." -Thomas Jefferson

"My first wish is to see this plague of mankind, war, banished from the earth." -George Washington

"Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin

I saw a poll where 58% agreed that the U.S. is less safe and that Obama has been too weak in fighting the war OF terror. Obama, the latest U.S. President War Criminal who has bombed seven different primarily Muslim countries, Executive Ordered himself as Assassinator in Chief, the drone President who has expanded and institutionalized the War OF Terror during his nearly eight years as President. They say he's weak fighting the terror the United States and its allies create.

I say to those people, Wake the Fuck Up! I'm not sure what else to say to these people. Please wake the fuck up?

It's' just a poll, 1500 people, but it's pretty clear most of the public still buys the bullshit that the U.S. is fighting a war against terror. Throw in a few FBI manufactured crimes that can be six degrees from Kevin Bacon connected to terrorism and it keeps the public in line and afraid for their lives. Duck and cover baby. Hide under the beds and pray for Donald Trump because he will keep us safe! And make America great again, for the white people. Hey white people, you want to be great again? Get out from under your beds and elect Donald Trump! Help me Jesus!

Where was I?

I remember early on in the war OF terror predicting it would be a neverending war. Many were. I remember a couple generals on both sides of the pond saying it would last 20-30 years. And there was George Bush with his now infamous statement to the press in front of the White Man's House, "this Crusade is going to take awhile". This was in the 2005-2007 timeframe, warning people if we don't stop this shit now it will become ingrained, institutionalized and it will never be stopped.

Here we are ten years later and sure enough, there is no end in sight. The war OF terror HAS become institutionalized and it IS hard to imagine how it can end other than some end of the world event that ends everything else with it. Put us out of our misery fate. Or karma or whatever is out there ready to bite us in the ass.

It's pretty amazing to me. I was born in the fifties, grew up in the sixties and went out to conquer the world in the seventies. During that entire time this country was in a Cold War against the Soviet Union and the evil Communism. A good part of that included the Vietnam war which was billed as a fight against communism, to keep it from spreading and invading the lives and minds of the American sheeple. We lived under the threat of nuclear war supposedly held at bay because of the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction, M.A.D. The theory being nobody's that crazy, right? The Vietnam war officially lasted eleven years, from 1964 to 1975 during which time this country and people went through an amazing period. The Civil Rights protests, the hippie era, Vietnam war protests, Kent State, assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK Jr., Watergate, the quest for the Moon, it was a significant transitional period in many ways.

The Vietnam war ended but the Cold war continued while our government and those who control it went about their plan to eliminate the Soviet Union as a threat to world power. The Soviet war in Afghanistan where they met up with our government's little friends, Al Qaeda, eventually helped end the Soviet Union and, it appeared, the Cold war. Reagan had his Wall moment, it came down and the world seemed a little more hopeful.

Except the United States of America, at least those in charge of it, had big plans. Nothing less than ruling the world, i.e., insuring it remained the sole superpower on earth with global hegemony to boot. George H.W. Bush called it the "New World Order". Many plans and operations were made and conducted to get the show on the road in the 90's. Bill Clinton (Hillary's husband) and Madeleine Albright (Hillary's friend) killed 500,000 Iraqi children. Then they had their illegal war in Bosnia based on lies. But the imperialists, New World Orderists, and neoconservatives knew they needed to take it to another level to achieve their goals. The think tanks and oligarchy Institutes and Foundations wrote plans and proposals with the most infamous being the neocons "Rebuilding America's Defenses, Project for a New American Century". They knew that for the U.S. to rule the world, it would need to greatly increase its military and intelligence capabilities, which would cost big bucks, and they needed to convince the Serfs to fork it over. They figured a "New Pearl Harbor" would do the trick, some catastrophic attack on American soil that they could then use to justify a war against terror and the police and military state to go along with it.

They got 9/11. They did 9/11.

Now here we are fifteen years later, 41 years after the end of the Vietnam war, and the American people, a solid majority, want more. They want more war, more military, more spying, more fascist police state, more Homeland security for Der Homeland. After 15 years of war upon war 6 out of ten Americans think the U.S. is less safe and that Obama is "too weak" fighting the war Of terror. They might not think they want more but if they really think the U.S. is less safe and that Obama has been weak as Commander in Chief, what else would they want?

"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor." Their dream of a catalyzing event could not have been better actualized than in the events of 9/11.

It worked. Their new Pearl Harbor convinced the American Serfs to agree to their transformation. The support is still very high. You can't really say this is a "war weary" country even though it's been at war for 15 years. WE want MORE! Keep us SAFE!! They don't even realize it's their own government causing their insecurities.

Kill more people dammit!!

The ironic thing is it goes against the entire concept of what these same majority of Serfs believe, that we're the land of the free and home of the brave. How can you be the Home of the Brave when you're scared so shitless you agree to kill millions of people to keep your silly ass safe, from your own government?

END THE WAR OF TERROR!!

It will continue no matter who 20-25% of the American people elect as their president.

It's all very ironic, when you think that in 1900 the US had a tiny army and a comparatively small navy, yet was one of the leading industrial powers, creating and building stuff.

Imperialism kills, both locally and domestically.

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

"For the first time in American history, men in authority are talking about an 'emergency' without a foreseeable end,...Such men as these are crackpot realists: in the name of realism they have constructed a paranoid reality all their own."
Today they can enforce their reality and know it'll not be challenged in public.

I'm not so sure this is the case. I do think that a solid majority of those who get to call the shots in the USA want that; but I don't think the majority of Serfs agree. As usual, the majority of the American people are silenced, and a pseudo-"majority" manufactured ex ano which supports what the Owners want (surprise surprise!).

Remember, the closest we ever got to an electable peace candidate (and yes, I know, no seegar) was neutralized mas pronto by those in genuine charge of affairs.

This is a country of War Hawks.

If we want to win an election we need a plan to address this fact.

I agree with those people. The country is indeed less safe. Not from foreign landlocked, terrorists with no aircraft and delusions of grandeur, but from our own state sanctioned terrorist group in blue and from the effects of anti-muslim sentiments that have never been addressed effectively.

And he is weak. Not in a military way, but in a politician way. He gives and gives to opposition and lobbyist alike, but never takes a strong stand on things.

and anyone with a brain in their head knows this is the truth. So why do a lot of people still think the ME and now Russia are under siege and t danger from these fake threats? This kind of thinking is preposterous. So was the Cold War. I remember in the 4th grade thinking why would these Russians want to invade us? How could they all fit in this country and why would they all want to even come here? Still think this to to this day.

There are not many people in this wide world that have much interest in invading or killing other humans for no good reason other then greed and dominance. Some assholes may think USA, USA, USA, but are they a majority? No there not. There never was a threat to us other then the homegrown one we still have not dealt with. Get a grip people you/we are the scary global terrorists. We have no limits and no compunction as far as killing off the 'world as we find it'. Here in Der Homeland and anywhere else globally the people who run and own this place decide is a threat to their interests.

We are all being terrorized. The terror is greatest in the Middle East in terms of actual warfare. Europe is being terrorized economically - Greece, Italy, Portugal, Ireland, think BRexit. We, too, have a form if economic terrorism taking place here. Their terrorism know no limits. Unless the people rise up and say enough is enough - stop terrorizing in our name - it will continue, eventually hitting our shores in unimaginable ways. What's that saying - I didn't stand up for anyone so when they came for me there was no one to stand up for me? That is America's fate, our fate. We are sitting ducks in a shotgun world.

"The “jumpers” reminded us that one day we will all face only one choice and that is how we will die, not how we will live." Chris Hedges on 9/11

and try to spare our population, only knocking out our infrastructure (which would be bad enough) and military. Apparently our power grid alone could collapse on its own, any time now, or with minimal help. And from what I read, Russia has a much more functional (and still much less expensive) military than we do.

Big stakes in this election. Maybe that would give us a chance with climate change, though. Lots of pain, for sure.
