Loincloths for the Oligarchy

It comes to me at moments when the anger begins to reach a tipping point. Election "irregularities", Media Collusion, Federal Appointments to Donors. The Lies, The Hubris, The Corruption, and the impunity with which they do all these things

A fantasy of revenge against those who have acted in bad faith and have suborned our democracy. This would include donors, the media, the DNC, the campaign, and the candidate.

Am I leaving anyone out?

As is the custom in fantasies of this kind, I have omnipotent powers. In my capacity to reign over all, I round up the worst offenders, casting them off on a small mosquito infested island wearing only a loincloth for protection. Sitting on small wooden stools, their pale flabby bodies blistering in the sun, I would call out their offenses under the cool shade of a tree while I pleasantly sipped from a tall glass of iced tea.

You have a choice, I would tell them. You can work in a factory making solar panels and wind turbines. Or you can wash the crude oil off all of the marine animals damaged from latest oil spill. The irony of this would of course not be lost on them but being rendered powerless they can only stew in their own juices. Figuratively as well as literally.

They would work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and be served a meal of antibiotic laden chicken processed from China, GMO corn from Monsanto, and water from Flint Michigan. The only form of entertainment would be watching C-Span where they would see that America had moved on from their bizarre disappearance with no one mentioning their names. As if they never existed . In their place there would be new legislators and new legislation with an emphasis on serving the people.

When the time came for them to anonymously assimilate back to society, they would be given $100 and a new pair of bootstraps.

Another irony not lost on them.

lo and behold a photo this morning of 2 men burning a Confederate flag. What is the problem?

Seeing video of the marching protestors outside the fence with police phalanx and helicopters overhead, my thought was "this is a bloodless war zone in the city of the Liberty Bell". Irony abounds.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Feels like they planned it this way. To rat fuck Democracy in the cradle where it was born would be the supreme joke for them, wouldn't it?

at the sordid spectacle?

“Fools! Tom, I told them, did I not? ‘A republic if you can keep it,’ I said. Just like that: ‘if you can keep it.’ Oh, did I tell them, Tom! But they didn’t listen, did they? They didn’t listen!”

“Come along, Ben. As it stands, for the moment there’s nothing more we can do for them.”

“And this miserable paper money they pass around — I wish they’d at least have the decency to stop printing my likeness on it.”

“Ah, Ben, but at least you adorn a century of dollars. My likeness is only on the ‘deuce,’ which, as we’ve seen, no one uses.”

A truth of the nuclear age/climate change: we can no longer have endless war and survive on this planet. Oh sh*t.

[T]he whole idea of revenge and punishment is a childish daydream. Properly speaking, there is no such thing as revenge. Revenge is an act which you want to commit when you are powerless and because you are powerless: as soon as the sense of impotence is removed, the desire evaporates also.

Who would not have jumped for joy, in 1940, at the thought of seeing S.S. officers kicked and humiliated? But when the thing becomes possible, it is merely pathetic and disgusting. It is said that when Mussolini's corpse was exhibited in public, an old woman drew a revolver and fired five shots into it, exclaiming, 'Those are for my five sons!' It is the kind of story that the newspapers make up, but it might be true. I wonder how much satisfaction she got out of those five shots, which, doubtless, she had dreamed years earlier of firing. The condition of her being able to get close enough to Mussolini to shoot at him was that he should be a corpse.
