Dear Hillary, Environmentalists Have a Life: Trying to Save the Planet From People Like You

As we are now well aware, Hillary Clinton doesn't think people who are concerned for the environment are leading worthwhile lives, certainly not a life as wonderful and fabulous and useful as hers.

"So you know Bernie Sanders is getting lots of support from the most radical environmentalists because he's out there every day bashing the Keystone pipeline. And, you know, I'm not into it for that. I've been-- my view is I want to defend natural gas. I want to defend repairing and building the pipelines we need to fuel our economy. I want to defend fracking under the right circumstances. I want to defend, you know, new, modern [inaudible]. I want to defend this stuff. And you know, I'm already at odds with the most organized and wildest. They come to my rallies and they yell at me and, you know, all the rest of it. They say, 'Will you promise never to take any fossil fuels out of the earth ever again?' No. I won't promise that. Get a life, you know."

Yes, those stupid radical environmentalists who oppose fracking, and the extraction of planet killing fossil fuels need to get a life and just ignore silly inconsequential stuff like this:

Carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels in the U.S. fell between 2009 and 2013, but greenhouse gases from burning those fuels went up. The reason? More methane than previously thought may have been released into the atmosphere from fracking and burning natural gas, according to new research from Cornell University. [...]

Methane has about 35 times the power to warm the atmosphere as carbon dioxide over the span of a century, and about 86 times carbon’s warming power over 20 years — figure known as global warming potential, or GWP.

“Since 2008, coal use has decreased, in part due to the recession but also in part due to replacement of coal with shale gas to produce electricity,” [Cornell University environmental biologist Robert Howarth] said. “This reduction in coal has led to a decrease in CO2 emissions. However, methane emissions have increased dramatically because of the increased production of shale gas. When both gases are considered, the total greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector of the U.S. have been rising since 2008 at the fastest rate seen in many decades.”

(See, also, this, this and this, to show but a few of the many studies and articles about the increase in methane releases thanks to increased drilling and fracking for shale gas.)

Well, whoop-di-doo says Hillary. This isn't an issue she thinks is all that important don't you know. In her own words:

"You know, I'm having conversations in these town halls and these meetings I'm having with a lot of people who break into my meetings, they hold up posters, they scream at me, and all the rest of that: 'Stop extracting fossil fuels, stop extracting on public lands, come out against nuclear, coal' you name it. They are after everything and I'm just talking through them. And of course they go support somebody else. That's fine and I don't particularly care. But I do think I have to say, look, given everything else we have to do in this country, this is not an issue for me that I'm going to say I support. I want to work on other stuff."

Yes, she wants to work on other stuff, like preserving business opportunities for Wall Street and Big Oil in the Middle East by perpetuating endless war.

Much of the content of these speeches to U.S. bankers dealt with foreign policy, and virtually all of that with warfare, potential warfare, and opportunities for military-led domination of various regions of the globe. ... “I’m representing all of you,” Clinton says to the bankers in reference to her efforts at a meeting in Asia. Sub-Saharan Africa has great potential for U.S. “businesses and entrepreneurs,” she says in reference to U.S. militarism there.

Meanwhile, those crazy, radical environmentalists Hillary finds so annoying and, I might add, "deplorable," are running around with their hair on fire over things like - the exponential growth in wildfires in the United States caused by Climate Change. From Science Daily:

A new study says that human-induced climate change has doubled the area affected by forest fires in the U.S. West over the last 30 years. According to the study, since 1984 heightened temperatures and resulting aridity have caused fires to spread across an additional 16,000 square miles than they otherwise would have -- an area larger than the states of Massachusetts and Connecticut combined. The authors warn that further warming will increase fire exponentially in coming decades. The study appears in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"No matter how hard we try, the fires are going to keep getting bigger, and the reason is really clear," said study coauthor Park Williams, a bioclimatologist at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. "Climate is really running the show in terms of what burns. We should be getting ready for bigger fire years than those familiar to previous generations."

Environmentalists are risking their lives and their freedoms to stop continued fossil fuel extraction and usage, the major driver of climate change
as our own government funded scientists at NASA, such as James Hansen and Gavin Schmidt, among many others have demonstrated.

Climate change is responsible for more extreme weather events, mega-droughts, famine and food security, rising sea levels, safe water supplies and water scarcity, the acidification of the oceans, and the extinction of millions of species upon which the delicate web of life on this planet, including human life, depends. Yet, Hillary Clinton doesn't think that this is an issue she should be wasting her time on. This isn't an issue she "supports." She wants to "work on other stuff." You know, like war, and helping our mega-banks out, and protecting the freedom of oil and gas companies to "drill baby, drill."

So my question to Hillary Clinton (and to all of you), is what kind of life do environmentalists really need to get? Seems to me they already have their hands full trying to save the lives of everyone else, even stupid, greedy, ignorant, selfish, power-hungry narcissists who think they are entitled to be President of the United States just because it's their turn.

I honestly don't know what all you people are worried about.

If you don't already have your apocalypse bunker prepared and the appropriate staff in place (gotta have security goons, oh and the pool guy, can't have our pool getting funky. Also don't forget to bring your personal chef.) then it's because you are all just a bunch of lazy takers.

It's not my fault if you guys are simply too lazy to properly plan for the future...

Look at those who are giving up their long-held progressive stances to support her and remember who they are. When a tough decision needed to be made, they failed.

When Bush went to war that was bad.
When Obama continued Bush's war that was good.
When Bush destroyed Iraq that was bad.
When Hillary destroyed Libya that was good.
When Cheney held a secret energy meeting that was bad.
When Hillary said that Iraq was open for business that was good.
Now this.

Then, on environmentalists, Clinton shared, “I’m already at odds with the most organized and wildest. They come to my rallies and they yell at me and, you know, all the rest of it. They say, ‘Will you promise never to take any fossil fuels out of the earth ever again?’ No. I won’t promise that. Get a life, you know.

CLinton understands that without oil the economy would be gone, along with the global economy.
This is our dilemma. I wish it were different. It's wrong on so many levels.
But you can't expect a mainstream politician to sacrifice the lives of 320 million people in the short term. In the long term it's clear we are in overshoot and carbon pigs who will pay dearly. Maybe not even in the long term. Support the green movements but try to understand how the world works.

Half of that is hydroelectric. The other half solar , wind, etc.relies heavily on carbon use to make, service and build.
90 perecent is carbon based. Given the attitudes, education and general poor thinking and poor health of the current populous it seem like to at least me that even though we are starting a transition we are about to be crushed by climate change...if not by a likely financial collapse just on the horizon. Fine to rail away at Clinton sort of like yelling at the scarecrow cause soem crows are in the corn patch.

Jobs. Self-interest. Even if the base is loaded with nuclear weapons, they don't give a fuck. They'll say, "welp, I'll take a little radiation if I can get a job.".

So Clinton claims the following: "I'm having with a lot of people who break into my meetings, they hold up posters, they scream at me, and all the rest of that..." I did a number of google searches with various key words trying to find an instance where some type of disruption did occur while she gave a speech. I could not find any incident or report where "radical environmentalists" (who she claimed supported Sanders) ever yelled and screamed at her.

Maybe something like this happened, but I could not find any single incident. She claims this repeatedly happened as in "... people who break into my meetings ....". I would think there would be some report some where about at least one incident.

So my tentative conclusion is that she lied about what some group of people ever demanded from her in a disrupted event. My general impression is that she has basically done smaller very controlled public speeches and that potential trouble makers never made it through to her. Look at happened in NH (I think it was), where BLM protesters couldn't get into the room with her speech. Wouldn't have mattered anyway, Clinton when she met with them, reduced them to subservient children.

I spent four years working with Mrs. Clinton when she was secretary of state, most often in the White House Situation Room. In these critically important meetings, I found her to be prepared, detail-oriented, thoughtful, inquisitive and willing to change her mind if presented with a compelling argument.

I also saw the secretary’s commitment to our nation’s security; her belief that America is an exceptional nation that must lead in the world for the country to remain secure and prosperous; her understanding that diplomacy can be effective only if the country is perceived as willing and able to use force if necessary; and, most important, her capacity to make the most difficult decision of all — whether to put young American women and men in harm’s way.

Mrs. Clinton was an early advocate of the raid that brought Bin Laden to justice, in opposition to some of her most important colleagues on the National Security Council. During the early debates about how we should respond to the Syrian civil war, she was a strong proponent of a more aggressive approach, one that might have prevented the Islamic State from gaining a foothold in Syria.

in regards to terrorism. The USA created him and his merry followers, they 'attacked' is, fought against us during the Iraq war and now we are once again arming and training them in Syria to help overthrow Assad.
Obama is willing to go to war with Russia in order to protect them and their followers and the other terrorist groups that we are supporting.
Joe has a great article about this in tonight's EBs.
And Obama isn't serious about taking out ISIL either. For over a year he watched as their convoys went in and out of Turkey until Putin shamed him into bombing the convoys and even then he did a half assed job.
The military bombed the Syrian army that had been in that area for a long time that set up ISIL retaking the area.
Kerry has been lying his ass off too saying that it was Russia that bombed the relief supplies.
And yet Americans are buying the government's propaganda that Russia is the bad guys in Syria when they are the only country there legally.
So OBL is dead and supposedly fish food.

Mr. Putin is a great leader, Mr. Trump says, ignoring that he has killed and jailed journalists and political opponents, has invaded two of his neighbors and is driving his economy to ruin. Mr. Trump has also taken policy positions consistent with Russian, not American, interests — endorsing Russian espionage against the United States, supporting Russia’s annexation of Crimea and giving a green light to a possible Russian invasion of the Baltic States.

There are two journalists right now that have been charged for doing their job under Obama's watch and I haven't heard a word from him or Hillary about this.
The USA overthrew Ukraine's president and is backing the same neo Nazi that they fought against during WWII.
The people in Crimea voted to stay with Russia and Putin didn't invade it, he defended his base there.
